My husband and I came in for a financial wellness appt. and Jerome McKoy was awesome to work with. He really cares and was so helpful. He listened to our concerns and explained options etc. he followed up with us and also walked us through every step of the way. He provided outstanding customer service and made us feel confident. Thank you Jerome!

I had an amazing opportunity to work with member advisor Joy Ray. She was professional, very knowledgeable, and had excellent customer service. She made what I thought would be a stressful experience both seamless and positive.

Terrible place to bank. I wouldn’t recommend them to anyone. They don’t care about their customers whatsoever. Their interest rates on their accounts are abysmal. There are much better options out there.

Always encounter fantastic customer service here. Appointments are reasonably kept. Financial transactions are always handled smoothly. Never had an bad encounter with an employee here. All are knowledgeable about finances and how it works. They also give you tips on how to improve your credit.

There are no absolutes in life so I can't say that everything about SECU is awful. There are still good customer service agents but I'm finding that to be the exception - not the rule. I've been a member for 20+ years and there has been a noticeable decline in the level of service.Wait times are now, on average 20 minutes. To be fair, this is an improvement from when they were consistently 40 minutes (a few months ago). Businesses needed time to adjust to the changes COVID forced on us all but SECU seems to be lagging terribly. The most disappointing factor leading me away from SECU is that more often than not, customer service agents (I've dealt with representatives in the checking, loans and debit card departments) don't seem to have a confident grasp on their product lines. I've noticed their responses to questions often contain words like "should" or "might". When dealing with people's money, there should be a greater sense of certainty from agents and a feeling of confidence that they will follow up and follow through on issues (as circumstances dictate).SECU is not a horrible bank. It's middle of the road and perfectly fine if you never have to call in with questions or concerns but shouldn't a bank be more?

Well due to COVID it looks like any service to come inside requires an appointment. But this visit was to exchange my loose change. Upon arrival, the entrance beyond the foyer to the main lobby was locked and then was unlocked by the bank clerk. Before I could enter, he asked me question of what was my purpose of my visit and did I had an appointment. I advised that I wanted to exchange my loose change. He then tells me I can utilize the coin machine, but would have to remove them out of thr coin rolls (whatba major waste of money and time. Using the machine you just press the start button and shove the coins down the slot with the assistance of the flat hand rake. *Tip* Double check to make sure every coin is shoved in due to some can get jammed in the corners. Once I was done, you push the print button for your slip. Then I was escorted to the atm, where the virtual teller assisted me with scanning my receipt.

About a year ago I got really tired of banking with Bank of America. They charge fees for everything and I felt like I was paying someone else to use my money. Also, BOA starting asking really insensitive questions about citizenship. Yuck. So, as a state employee, I decided to try SECU MD. I went in to this location and talked with a super-friendly banker who helped me set up my account. It was very easy and a great experience. Later, I transferred my car loan over to SECU-- this took about an hour but it has saved me a LOT of money. I have a great APR at 3.74% and hope to have my loan paid off in a couple of years. Eventually, when I am ready to buy a house, SECU will be my lender for my mortgage. SECU is kind of like shopping at Aldi's. It's not a luxurious place or building but you know you are getting the best price. If you need a teller, you walk into the lobby and have a phone conversation with a remote teller via a little tv screen. This is kind of unusual, but especially during COVID, this makes sense! Thank you, SECU in Towson, for helping me make the most out of my money!

I met with Lauren P., she was so professional and walked me through getting multiple accounts with ease. The branch was clean and they had procedures for covid that Lauren followed every step of the way. I recently left Security Plus Financial and Lauren made my transition perfect! The teller machine was even more impressive. The teller was so friendly and welcoming. I am excited that I found a credit union that is up to date with technology for online banking and fraud protection. I am even more happy that they are close to my home, while offering many ATMs in my city that I can use. They are everything that I did not receive from Security Plus Financial in 7 years! Thank You Lauren for your customer service!!!

During this covid it has not been the best experience at all. I had to get a new debit card and it was longer than a 15 days. We are in covid. I don’t have a credit card. I just have a debit. I’ve been borrowing money. then go to the bank for them to say oh we don’t print. What is going on ?? I don’t understand how hard it is to print a card
