I brought my dog in for a 3:45pm appt. My first interaction upon entering the new office was pleasant. They immediately updated my information, weighed my dog, and within 20 mins. I was asked to have a seat while they took my dog back to see the vet. I sat in side for approximately 1 hr before going to sit in my car. At 6:14 pm I received a phone call with an irate employee repremanding me about abandoning my dog. He claimed that had been calling me for 4 to 5 hours (his words) and that he'd made several calls since 2 pm to pick up my dog. However, my dog didn't get taken back until after 4pm. When I walked back in to get my dog, the employee Michael began yelling at me and I ended up matching his tone. I showed the staff my phone logs and no where did I receive a text or call like he claimed. Another staff member came out to diffuse the situation although another staff member present who checked me in stayed quiet. When asked if I was in the store, she responded yes. The Chief of Staff came out to then explain to me how I was wrong for not communicating with them since I had not received communication from them. My response was that I was not going to be gaslit by her when her employee lied and was disrespectful. I absolutely will NOT give Bandield another penny! Customers spend their money to keep business going. How you treat people and make them feel is long lasting. I will not recommend Banfield nor will I use their services ever again.

My sweet Isabella just crossed the rainbow bridge 1/30/2023. I just wanted to thank the entire staff, and( Dr. Edwards )for the care that was given to my baby for 15 years.

Banfield Pet Hospital in Waldorf MD has extremely poor customer service. My pet needs insulin as well as syringes for his care. He is a diabetic. Chewy puts in the approval request to process the prescription and Banfield does NOT return phone calls!! I've had to make a personal appearance to this pet hospital for assistance! It's ridiculous. The excuse is always we are short staffed! Pet owners DO NOT want to hear this! If pet owners have left messages it's your responsibility to return the phone call! Our pets are our family and ignoring phone calls from pet owners is pure neglect and irresponsibility! It's convenient to go here but I will surely and gladly travel elsewhere to get better care for my pet and as a pet owner.

We have a Wellness plan and it was time for the fur baby to get another comp exam to ensure he's doing well. I decided to try the location closest to me. I called several times but no one answered. I finally decided to drop in during my lunch break just to make an appt. I've noticed one young lady primarily at the front working hard & multitasking. She apologized & said it's just her trying to take calls, check new clients in, & check people out. This is stressful and super annoying for clients... Later that day I noticed the vet needed a stool sample. I had questions but no one was available to answer my calls. However, when I delivered my dog for his check up, the team took good care of him. Called me 2x explaining what they noticed (he needs to lose a couple) & found a little debris in 1 ear. I authorized the cleaning & was able to purchase the ear cleaner from them which was convenient since Amazon didn't have it. The doc was taking wellness visits in between surgeries. I think Banfield can drastically improve the Customer Experience by adding at least 1 more front-desk employee. I shouldn't have to burn up precious time and gas to make appointments & ask basic questions.

Horrible place. Customer service is terrible. The cancel appointments without telling you. Put a leash around the dog neck that chokes them. Every time my dog goes in there, she is terrified and she never shows that anywhere else. The NEVER pick up the phone. They NEVER return your calls. I really HATE this place. I wish I never spent my money at this place. And why can we not go back with our pet? Their own tech told me that all they care about is volume. Quantity over quality is their motto. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!!!!!!!!!!

We have been going here for close to 15 years. Overall I will say the Vets are good. You cannot rely on them whatsoever though if there is something serious is going on. On one occasion, our dog had a stick stuck in her mouth. We called Banfield immediately for help (during open hours) but they said they couldn't see Holly. A little over a year ago, Holly had a very bad virus, we called Banfield but they were booked. Recently, Holly was experiencing serious distress and we called but they couldn't see her until the next day. Holly passed two days later, she was old and I don't consider this the hospital's fault but they could have seen her. After Holly's passing we tried to cancel the the pet insurance. We were informed that we must pay the remainder of the year. Really, just plain heartless. We will not return!

I will not recommend this location. Poor customer service, the staff is not knowledgeable specifically Becca or Rebecca. Very rude. The clinic smells, very dirty. There's only 1 vet available most of the time and a lot more negative experience.

Pawsitively poor pet insurance! When I rescued a 1 yr old Golden Doodle, I thought the idea of an insurance plan was smart. It was marketed as the best, most economical way to ensure my pet would have access to regular check-ups, preventative care, etc. at a fraction of the cost. What WASN'T included in the sales pitch was the fact that I would experience a complete absence of customer care. Over the 3+ years that I have been paying for Banfield's Optimum Wellness Plan, more often than not, I have needed Healthcare for my dog and been unable to get an appointment at ANY of the locations within 20 mile radius of my home. Instead, I have ended up paying out of pocket for him to be seen by another vet, outside of my "awesome" plan coverage. My advice? When it comes to Banfield's pet insurance, don't do it Shaggy!! If you must get Scooby a health care plan, make sure you ask up front if what you are buying is actually available or just a really cool marketing package.

I have been a client of the Waldorf, MD Banfield for well over 20 years. I have had 7 dogs on various plans. My experience has been very extensive with my "girls". Several major surgeries, chronic health issues, and several end of life euthanasias. The care and genuine concern by the staff - doctors, vet techs and office staff was truly wonderful and heartfelt. I had always been very satisfied with the care given to my pets until a couple of years ago. Unfortunately, the practice in my opinion has gone downhill dramatically. I understand that Covid has changed procedures. However, I have not been able to make a timely appointment in the past couple of years. I get texts telling me that my dog is due for an wellness checkup and to click the link. The website does not work and it says to call the office. And on two occasions, I had urgent issues in the last 6 months that needed to been seen by a doctor. When I call, the recording says they are unavailable and to leave a message. On these occasions, I have not received any phone call back and had to take my dog to an emergency vet. So if the office is that swamped, why do they keep selling "wellness" plans? I had to say goodbye to my last dog yesterday. Tried to call Banfield for assistance, no answer and no call back. In the future, with any new pets, I will not be using Banfield. If I could give 0 stars, I would have. My pets are family to me. That is why I purchased the plans for my dogs originally. Banfield has failed in their end of the contract as far as I'm concerned.

So we tried to give Banfield another chance. We have again been calling for days to make an appointment. Like last time, no answer. No return calls to messages. When we finally were able to get to speak to someone, we were again told to take our pup to another vet or an emergency vet clinic because their next available regular appointment was over a month out. When asked about the Wellness Plan, it didn't matter. We were able to call local vets and find one accepting new patients. I hope Banfield recognizes that their "valued customers" are paying money and being referred elsewhere for routine services. This is highly unfair to people that are paying monthly premiums and cannot be seen....

Ok, so you know if you have a cough or stuffy nose that persists after you take Robitussin for a few days, how you'd make an appointment to see your primary care physician... but if you woke up with a tennis ball sized pulsating mass growing out of your face ooooooorrr maybe felt shortness of breath so severely you could barely get out of bed, you'd likely go to the emergency room, call an ambulance, or see a specialist right? A primary care physician or general practitioner would likely refer you to a specialist or the emergency room if you arrived with your foot falling off....Banfield is not an emergency clinic, nor do they employ specialists for complex matters hence why if your pet appears to be close to death, they will likely refer the pet to a specialist or emergency clinic, just as the PCP's offices tell us that if we are suffering from a life threatening issue, we should go directly to the emergency room instead of scheduling with a general physician or practitioner. This brings me to the wellness plan / package that is useful for vaccinations, general office visits, and annual wellness appointments like dental exams and teeth cleaning. Banfield's wellness plan should not be mistaken as insurance that will mitigate costs in the event of more serious illnesses or bad injuries. I look at it similar to the general maintenance package I have for my car that enables me to get free oil changes and car washes at the dealership, BUT.... if I crash the car or if the transmission fails would not be covered by my general maintenance package and I would not be upset about that. With those things said, yes... this location's administrative staff has some areas of opportunity for customer service, but Juleesa, Brittany, and Lindsey have all always been professional and pleasant in my experiences. It is extremely difficult to get through to them by phone as they appear to be always extremely busy which does not bother me since I book, make changes to, and track Koffee's appointments through the Banfield website or mobile app. We've had consistent great appointments and services for Koffee from Dr. Bain, Dr. Edwards, and Dr. Washington at Waldorf's location. Booking with any of those vets over the years has been something we've never had any negative issues with and will continue to recommend to friends and family. Koffee's breed is "Intervertebral disc disease" prone & my sweet princess suffers from the occasional back issue flare up. The frequency has increased some, as she is getting older and on a recent visit to retrieve her some pain meds we were informed that Dr. Hurley has become certified to treat this kind of ailment with acupuncture. Acupuncture is a specialty service not covered by any wellness plan Banfield offers, BUT.... if your fur baby suffers any kind of chronic pain, disc, joints, bone, or muscle related issues or episodes, I highly recommend looking into having them treated with acupuncture services by Dr. Hurley. Before her first session with Dr. Hurley, Koffee was suffering an intermittent episode and displaying signs of pain and discomfort, not able to bear weight on her hind legs at all, could not jump and seemed generally sluggish and slouched like a person with a severe strain or injury. We were worried she may not gain back full mobility in her back legs but after her very first acupuncture visit with Dr. Hurley, she was like a rejuvenated brand new puppy again. It was truly astonishing to witness and her general temperament had completely improved for the best, by the time we were on the car ride home. You would think needles being stuck in her back would bother her, but Koffee actually seemed perfectly comfortable after each of her four sessions she attended weekly. Thanks to our switching to Cosaquin glucosamine treats they recommended and the visits with Dr. Hurley, Koffee is now running, jumping, and bearing weight on her back legs with ease. 5 stars to this pet hospital for providing Koffee the best services and care a dog momma co
