I drove a long way to get a kayak from them and it was worth it. They had the kayak that I couldn’t find anywhere else and at a fantastic price. They even had a deal going on if you want to also get a paddle and a PFD/ life jacket. Great spot for Old Town stuff- made in America and top notch quality. There were so many other great camping & outdoor items to choose from too. Chris was really friendly and incredibly helpful- he had a lot of knowledge about kayaks and securing them to a car roof. He actually showed me how to do mine and helped me get it up and secure it! I’m recommending them to any friends who end up looking for a kayak or outdoor stuff.

The dude that works here is kind of funny. Funny as in odd. Impersonal. Slightly anti-social. He appears to be the owner. He barely acknowledges you when you walk in, which is kind of awkward considering the store isn't exactly packed with patrons. I actually think I spoke first and he sort of grunted in acknowledgment? Given the nature of the merchandise you'll likely be there by yourself with him.... Which is weird because there's no sound in the place. It's public library quiet. No radio, no tv, no MuZak, no clock ticking or outside traffic... nothing. I happened to stroll over because the bakery next door was out of tamales. I asked about hatchets and machetes and, from behind the counter, he pointed to the back wall and some other area. I took a tour of the store three times and eventually came back nearer to the counter and asked again. Again he gestures and tells me there's a "whole row" of hatches "over there". By the time I actually found them on the back wall, there were only two in the camping area, so was no wonder I couldn't quite locate them. The machetes were behind the counter, turns out. He mentioned the prices. Last couple questions were about Army blankets and whether he offered a military discount, which he answered politely enough. No military discount, ironically. I'm not sure if the guy is lazy or has a bad foot/knee or doesn't like to walk or interact but he doesn't have nearly enough clients to justify being so disengaged. Not sure what he's distracted behind that counter doing, but it sure isn't selling anything. Much of the merchandise I remember from my days in service (canteen kits, camos, hats) so it seems pretty authentic while other merch is kind of weekend warrior/camping type stuff, so there's a nice mix. Army green wool blanket (64x80 stamped "US" on it = $35.99. I may actually return to purchase this considering the ones on Amazon appear so cheaply made by comparison. The stuff here is only a few bucks more expensive than anything I've seen online. Interesting store. Don't be prepared to get WoW'd with much service or conversation though.

So I am giving this store to Stars only because it looks like they have some pretty cool stuff in there however the guy was like totally void of any personality or emotion. I read another review where that customer said the exact same thing. It's a shame because I would have really liked to get some help or some ideas for what to get my step pops for Christmas but the guy said I don't know I got a whole store full of stuff and I felt like that was really freaking rude and I may or may not go back in there but if I do I know I sure won't be getting any help from him and they wouldn't do a fire department discount but yet have a entire store dedicated to fire Army Navy everything else but yet won't honor me as a first responder?

Great place for hard to find outdoor clothing and such. Carhartt collection is topnotch as is their selection of boots. Have been a customer for a few years now and will keep returning.

Two stars only because they have some items worthwhile. Customer service is almost nonexistent. Not a first time shopper here, and have had multiple experiences with poor customer service. Kept ignoring, but finally decided to give a review as a result of it pretty much being who they are.

I like the store, decent Carhartt selection. Customer service is poor. The guy working there made me feel not welcomed. The “no browsing” sign is a compete turn off too. (How can I buy something if I can’t browse to see product)

Rude and lack of customer service is thrash just like their confederate flags throughout store. I walked in and once I approached them they continued speaking. Mid 30-40 y/o employee raised eyebrows and asked, “do you need something?”. I promptly stated, “hello!” (like a normal human being) and that I was seeking a kayak. Older man besides him decides to chuckle sarcastically as if I asked them a stupid question. The sign outside their door specifically states they sell kayaks and canoes. I walked out immediately and everyone else should too. Not one of them said anything as I did and/or apologize.
