Has to be the worst Safeway regarding customer service and item pricing. On sale tag price never matches when you ring up the item and the workers always disagree with the discounted pricing. "Customers are always right" doesn't apply here because it's always Opposite Day.

Have shopped here off and on for years. Bakery used to be decent but it's gone downhill - limited offerings and can never find someone to place orders with. Went in to buy flowers - misread price as $5. At checkout asked to confirm because they rang up as $6.99 and self-checkout woman says they're $14.99. I walked over to see and the sign was all hidden and in fact the sign was wrong since it was $6.99! The rude saleswoman says "Well it's not $5!." Chick it's not $14.99 either! How about you correct your fraudulent sign instead of arguing with customers! Just horrible customer service here. I go out of my way to get to Whole Foods so I don't have to come here!

Placed an order for curbside pickup. It was scheduled to be picked up between 6-8pm. I got a text message at 6 saying my order had been picked up. I called and spoke to George who claimed to be the manager, he said there was nothing he could do. He was rude and unapologetic.

I've been going to Safeway since I was a teenager. Usually they have everything I need and want at a reasonable price. Since COVID the prices have been climbing. I'm paying 3x as much for groceries as I had been since last year. I'm not happy with that. Also, the lines for check out depending on the day and time can be extremely long. Snow storms, holidays, and Sundays are the worst offenders. If you go on a Tuesday afternoon, you'll float right through. I think they need to re think how many people they have on the registers. They know when their heavy times are and should accommodate accordingly. Now the pharmacy on the other hand is excellent. I'm not thrilled with the turn over since Randy retired but I've been happy with their service. They even help me to find discounts for my meds.

I recently moved to Waldorf. I've always loved Safeway and was excited to see there was one just across the street. On last week I purchased some skinless boneless thighs that were Safeway packaged. Once I got home to cook the thighs, the inside of the thighs were absolutely black....rotten! Being lazy and not remembering where the receipt was I just tossed the chicken. But today, going back I purchased some Lucerne pepper jack cheese and the whole side of the cheese was blue.....ROTTEN!! I will not be going back and will be giving Aldi a try.

I absolutely HATE going places that employ people who feel the need to be overly ethnic. It's almost 2021 and the same stank attitude useless, no customer service, "people" still abuse the little power they have . I HATE this Safeway OMG it's the worst.

Safeway Waldorf Marketplace sells expired goods, specifically in my case mayonaise and refuse to exchange or refund the product. Staff is rude and have little if no customer service experience at all. Will NEVER shop at Safeway again!

I was very impressed with safeway during the coronavirus crisis. They had a good amount of food stocked unlike other grocery stores I have been too. They also have several steps in place to have people keep social distance. They also made 2 announcements while I was there for 30 mins encouraging people to keep a 6 dt seperation

If i could give this place a zero star i would all thanks to this older lady with gray hair and glasses "working" the customer service desk. So I am visiting the area and had to go buy water which I did a few days ago. The water tasted and smelled like melted plastic so i took it back to see if I could switch out the water. I got to the customer service desk which was unattended for about 10 minutes so I went to see if I could find someone to help me-- no one was available but i was determined to switch out the waters or at least get a refund. Finally this lady who may have been the manager or a very cocky employee came to the desk. She helped the man in front of me with western union stuff, then took another customer before me when i was there first but my fault for not speaking up. Then when it was finally my turn i ask if i can return the waters and she ROLLS her eyes and asks for the receipt so i tell her i don't have one since i wasn't planning to return the water. She rolls her eyes AGAIN and goes "you should always have a receipt if you are going to return something". Well yes, I'm not an idiot and i know that, however most stores will take things back without a receipt and give you store credit. So she hesitantly scans the waters, and huffs out "i should put this on store credit but i don't want to waste it on that small amount" (it being a gift card). But anyways, terrible service at the customer service/western union desk. I'll be sending a cleaned up version of this to cooperate on their terrible service sometime today.

Why is there NEVER any employees at the customer service desk?? Irritating. I don't have 30+ minutes to wait for someone to come help me. Hire more people to run registers so someone can take care of customer service!

Super RUDE!!!!! Customer service EVER!!! To one of the lady there that's running her mouth to a customers!!! After she cuts her off at the check out and NEVER apologize for doing that but went on and on about how rude people are BUT "SHE" was the one that was rude to everybody else!

I absolutely HATE coming into this Safeway!!! There's 1 line open on a Saturday morning and she was moving like molasses. Didn't a They removed the self check outs which now only make the lines move even SLOWER! The staff isn't very friendly or helpful. It's kinda like they're just there. The Starbucks employees are the same way. I overheard my cashier (who didn't even greet me) talking ACROSS me to ANOTHER cashier about how a lot of people had gotten fired (which may explain the short staffing but why are you having this conversation while checking out my items?). I've been in here and watched a cashier check her phone while checking out my items. It's almost as if they just hired people to have bodies on the registers without the proper training and customer service skill. This is exactly why I go to Giant.
