Receptionist, Sylvia was combative and not pleasant at all. The other HR block receptionists in surrounding areas that I spoke with are compassionate and supportive. I do not appreciate the condensing attitude at all.

I was at your Wheaton plaza office on veirs mill Road in Wheaton Maryland and had the worst unprofessional experience with Brian Stephenson. He literally told us to leave his office- “ I’m done with you, I’m hungry, I can’t deal with you anymore and transferring you to another tax preparer”. He’s always been rude but yesterday was unreal and over the top. We were so surprised we didn’t even know how to respond. Not acceptable!

A truly horrible experience! I have been a customer at Block Advisors in Wheaton for years. So one would think they would be good to me.My taxes are a bit complicated. The preparer that I had last year, and the preparer for the previous many years, were different from the preparer for this year. He (Mr. Narula) explained to me that they only had three or four tax preparers, when in previous years they have had about a dozen! So I blame management more than I blame the new tax preparer, who I think has been given more on his plate than he could reasonably be expected to handle.When I had my appointment in late March, I specified that I did not want to be scurrying around to the bank, Block Advisors, and the Post Office on the very last day. But here I am, waiting for a phone call from my tax preparer, who I am sure is competent, but VERY overworked. And, we are down to the last minute, practically, which I had specifically stated I DID NOT want to experience in this way.I am anxious, upset, and at 7:46 p.m. on Monday, April 17, still waiting for that call from the tax preparer, to confirm my appointment for tomorrow, and tell me how much I will need to owe in taxes, which I know I need to pay TOMORROW--- even if, as I anticipate, we get an extension to file.And here is another update. I was supposed to get a call back from the preparer, Mr. Narula, this evening. When I called around six, I was told to expect a call from him in an hour, which would have been around 7 p.m. I waited. . . and waited. . . posted the body of this message (which I have now revised) and called again just after 8 p.m.--- and of course the office is now closed!I am giving one star, only because the site won't post this, if I don't give any stars at all, which is what is deserved, I think, in this instance. Again, I blame the management, for not giving sufficient support to my tax preparer, who seems to be a good person, and competent---but overworked.I am seriously contemplating initiating a class action lawsuit against H & R Block/Block Advisors, as I am sure that this problem of shoddy management and insufficient logistical support for the tax preparers, is system wide, and that my particular experience with this organization is not unique to me.

We've been using Block Advisors for many years. Although some tax preparers are better than others, most are quite knowledgeable about taxes.

I would give zero stars if I could. One of the worst customer service experiences I’ve ever had. When we were shopping around for quotes to file our taxes, we were told by Block Advisors that the total price was $175. That was a complete lie.We were presented with a final bill that was almost $300 more! Block Advisors refuses to acknowledge ir take responsibility for their deceptive practices. I strongly recommend that you go elsewhere if you want to deal with an honest company that doesn’t take advantage of consumers.
