I purchased an item from Chuck Levin's and decided to return the item. They did accept the return as I only had the item for about a week or 2. I returned it with all of the packaging and everything was as new. Not only did I not hear back for almost a week after they had received the item but I also had to contact support an additional 2 times to get my refund back to me. Once I did get the refund it was almost $90 less than I paid for the item, I was aware that I would have to cover the original shipping which they claim was $35 (it cost me $12 to ship it back to them) but I was not aware that they would short me an additonal almost $60 which I am guessing was a restocking fee or something (even though the item was as new and had all accessories). I then asked what the additonal charge was for and got no response at all, I guess I should take my partial return and be happy?! I WILL NOT BE SHOPPING HERE EVER AGAIN! GO TO SWEETWATER!!!! Sweetwater will take your item back no questions asked and not charge any restocking fees or make you pay an absurd amount for the original shipping. AND sweetwater's service is incredible, possibly the best I have ever had anywhere. If you buy from Chuck you had better be sure you really want the item as their "EASY RETURNS" come at a hefty price tag, and be ready to keep bothering them just to get your partial return back.

Went in to get a few items. Person that helped me talked very condescendingly to me. When trying to ask for a specific item I kept being told I don't need that item because there were not familiar with my instrument. Horrible customer experience.

I prefer to shop from independent/small businesses, so purchased a pedal from Chuck Levin's instead of Sweetwater or Reverb. NEVER AGAIN. They may be good in person/local, but if you're ordering online, you better think again. The pedal didn't work. They nicely sent me a "free" shipping label for the return. Once they got it, they insisted that the pedal worked fine. They charged me $48 to "reimburse" them for the "free" shipping each way, and would only refund me the difference after that. Looking online at UPS, using a copy of their own shipping label, the shipping would have at most been about $14, and that without their corporate account discount. So I paid 110 online for a pedal, returned it, and got about half my money refunded. NEVER AGAIN. I'll stick with Sweetwater from here on out.

This place hands down is the best spot for ordering any type of music gear. I have been buying keyboard equipment from this store for over 30 years. Myles is one of the most skilled sales persons in this department and helped me with my most recent kawai keyboard purchase. He always helps me decide what I really want and need plus accurately gives me his objective opinion. Hence why I will always buy all of my gear from chuck Levin.

I've been there twice this year, and both experiences were positive! Most recently, I visited because it was the only store in the DMV, as far as I know, that had a Cordoba C9 classical guitar in stock. Note that NOT all guitars in stock are on display! I knew it was in stock based on their online inventory. The salesman, who was very knowledgeable about the guitar, retrieved it from "downstairs". He was not pushy at all, and did NOT try to upsell. If you are looking for a guitar, please consider Chuck Levin's before you head to "that other store" (you know which one). I didn't pay much attention to their electric guitars as I hung out mostly in the acoustic room, which is HUGE. I see some negative reviews on Yelp, but those experiences were the opposite of mine. I believe that most customers have a good experience here, and I am confident that you will too should you decide to visit them. Bon shopping!

I recently saw an item online with this Company and wanted to purchase multiple pieces of the item. They said that they would be able to expedite the shipping which was great. I then received a text message telling me that the item was priced wrong and they would not honor the online price. Then change the price on a phone call and wanted me to pay extra as well as shipping. This companies customer service is not professional. I proceeded to let them know that I would not be purchasing the items please before buying from this company contact them to get official pricing.

I needed a wireless system. I really like that they have a specialist for each department who will speak to you and provide personalized advice and service. Also what I bought costs the same on amazon. Usually prices a bit higher in stores.

They have it! At unbeatable prices (for the DC/NoVA/Maryland area). Better prices (on everything I checked) than Amazon!And it was enjoyable to go to a thriving music store... Not like those stuffy stores where you are the only customer. Will absolutely go back for any of my music /audio needs.

Good selection of instruments and very knowledgeable staff. We bought a French horn and they allowed us to test a bunch of horns. They answered all questions patiently and also gave us a decent deal.

First of all, this should be a music landmark. Musicians of all types have visited this store over the decades. But besides that they are welcoming and friendly. I was able to check out instruments at my leisure, and when I made my selection, the purchase was rapidly completed. The time you choose to visit the store will make a difference. Weekends probably are busier than when I went.

I wanted to try a pedal but they couldn't get it working for a half hour. They set me up close to the front of the store, so I had to turn down the amp significantly to the point where I could barely hear myself because I didn't want to bother the other customers and staff.

Started doing business with this store recently. I can truly say they are top notch. I’ve been ding busing with Sweetwater and I have to admit the customer service focus at Chuck Kevin’s is wonderful. Aaron my rep responds with accurate information and in a timely manner. They haces earned my business and I plan on doing much more with them great job.

Unbeatable prices and had an amazing time being shown around by the very knowledgeable Pete Fleming! Amazing man, very honest, and a walking example of a true musician. He was not trying to upsell me and instead was genuinely assisting me with my pursuit of finding the best acoustic guitar for the suiting of my taste, irrespective of price.

Chuck Levin’s Washington Music Store is known far and wide as the place professional musicians go to, as well as where students and regular folks, who make music and/or play in any kind of musical genre or group, go to for all their musical needs. I purchased a French Horn from there, with the assistance of Lee Walkowich. He is knowledgeable and friendly and I very much appreciated all his help in making the purchase of my superb instrument.
