Lets start with owner Mike C****** calling me a Cheap Racist Ahole , had this company install flooring , baseboard and new shower kit in the basement after a flood. They said it would take a week, at the end of the week they had run short of all the material even though I purchased more that required by the owner who did the quote. They also did several thing incorrectly that now need to be redone including reinstalling the old quarter round on the newly installed baseboard which will now need replacing , not tacking down carpet on the stairs, using bathtub caulking to glue down the transition pieces which is still not dry after a week, not installing a piece going into another room, saying they could make a seamless transition where they couldn't leaving a plank sticking up. Also leaving all the vinyl dust in the driveway saying a shop vac couldn't sweep up dust in the gravel, not setting the walls correctly onto the shower pan leaving large gap between the two. Manufacturer instructions said there should be a 1/32 gap and there is nearly a half an inch it's going to leak.. I had the owner and project manager come out to show them the issues and they tried to explain away every issue even saying it was my fault they ran out of material even though I purchased more than the owner requested. Once I realized they were not admitting to any issues I said they were finished and asked them in no uncertain terms to leave. That's when the owner started getting aggressive and belligerent in front of two other contractors I had doing chimney work. At this point my 70 lb dog came to see what the fuss was about so I grabbed him so he wouldn't shred this guy and asked them to leave several more times but the owner instead of leaving kept turning around and intimidating me , I'm 5'5\

Maryland's Best came out for an estimate on a garage remodel 3.5 weeks ago, and Mike spent almost an hour with my husband discussing ways to achieve what we'd asked for. We never received an estimate. I have called twice since then asking for updates, when we might receive their estimate, etc, and I'm always told they'll "get in touch with Mike." If you're not interested in a job, just say so. It's rude and unprofessional to waste peoples' time, and I can see from their reviews that I'm not the first one to have such an experience.

They were quick, priced fair, and very professional through the whole process. No doubt I’ll be recommending them to friends and family.

Everyone I ever spoke with at this company, from Mike to Jennifer to Rudy to Oscar, were very nice and well-intentioned, but their ability to schedule their work and to communicate with their clients is awful. I got a quote from Mike to repair water-damaged wood trim and to dry-in a deck last July, 2020. The quotes were good, so I contracted for the work. The wood trim replacement was sub-par, and trying to get it scheduled took several weeks. They attempted to just caulk over the rot, until I insisted that the wood be replaced. I've attached some pictures of the finished product - it's not very good "finish" work, didn't address all the issues as requested, and they left MDF shavings all over my driveway & garage that I'm still finding & cleaning up. The deck dry-in was even more challenging to schedule, but the finished product is very good; that's why the 3 stars instead of 2. After requesting that the work be done after the initial site visit & quote, they asked for a materials deposit of $2K, about 1/2 the cost of the work. I paid the deposit last November, but couldn't get anyone to come out & do the work through the spring & summer, until this past August! They told me several times they'd be out, then no one showed up. Then on a day I wasn't expecting them & had a doctor's appointment, they showed up with a whole work crew! The work was finally completed Nov 16th after several more no-shows on scheduled dates. They also stored the deck materials on the side of my house for a couple of months while they kept rescheduling/not showing up for the work - it killed all my grass and REALLY pleased my neighbors & HOA. If Maryland's Best can get a handle on their scheduling & client communication, they might have a shot at being a "best" company.

We always get three quotes on home projects and Maryland’s Best Remodeling was the first company we contacted. Mike came out and gave me a quote which ultimately was the lowest price. I requested and received two additional quotes from other vendors. One quote was double and the other was more than three times the cost of Maryland’s Best Remodeling. This obviously makes you wonder what is going on when all three salesman seems to offer the same roofing products. I did lots of research and determined that there was very little difference in the quality of the roofing products being used and that Maryland’s Best Remodeling was offering a high-quality roof for a good price. We went with them and the roof looks great. We would recommend them and suggest you also get three quotes on projects such as this.Services: Roof repair

A recent storm had ripped a part of our gutters and they needed some attention. We got quotes from three companies for the repairs. Maryland's Best Remodeling was the most affordable, by quite a bit. Mike was very knowledgeable and very attentive. They booked the work very quickly after giving us the quote, showed up on time, and completed the work quickly. The work was thorough and we were super happy with the service and results and definitely plan to use Maryland's Best Remodeling for other remodeling projects. Maryland's Best Remodeling definitely exceeded expectations. Thanks, Mike!Services: Gutter repair

Mike Criddle and his team did a great job in finishing our basement. Mike’s choice of subcontractors were a really professional crew. Special thanks to Rudy, our day-to-day Project Manager, for coordinating the various crews, coordinating with county inspectors, for being so perceptive to our needs, with fantastic communication, and his great craftsmanship. Overall, great job and very satisfied!

I used Maryland’s Best Remodeling for a pretty extensive bathroom remodel. They helped me to convert my 1 full bathroom to a Master on suite and a small hall bath in my Baltimore City row home! I was nervous about the project but Mike held my hand throughout the entire process. He helped me with design ideas and brought many features to my attention that I wouldn’t have even thought of on my own. The project was kept on budget and the team was clean, respectful and made me feel safe and comfortable having them in my home. I have referred them to many friends since they completed my project and plan to use them again for an upcoming kitchen remodel I have in mind.

A cautionary tale, check behind the work you have performed before you make final payment. If this company is “Marylands Best” I suggest seeking contractors from neighboring states for your workWhat started as a simple call about some flashing that came down turned into3 months of trying to have discrepancies in the installation of my new roof and gutters addressed. I was told by Mike in April that he would send a tech out to see if it was just a heavy wind that caused the flashing come down or an error in installation of the roof. I made the offer that if it was just a heavy wind I would pay for the service call, if it was an error I would not expect to pay and if it could not be determined then We split the cost of the service call.3 weeks later still no call I got up on the ladder to reinstall the flashing and saw the attached photos . I have never seen shingles so sloppily tucked into gutters and trimmed around gutter hangars. I took pictures of the front roof, went around to the back to check to see if the shingles were installed in a similar fashion. Not only were the back shingles installed in the same fashion but I also saw a half inch of water at the butt end of the gutter. I put my 4 foot level on the gutter and sure enough there was no slope to the gutter meaning it would not drain properly. Note about the gutter initial gutter installation, after the back gutters were installed and the crew was installing the front as I went in the basement I noticed the downspout had been installed to close to the louvres of my dryer vent rendering the dryer vent inoperable. Fortunately the crew was still here and I was able to have the downspout reinstalled.May 19th I sent an email with the pictures to Marylands Best Remodeling through the email address on their website.May 21st after not having been contacted I sent the same email to Jake ( Maryland’s best remodeling job estimator). And received an email answer from Mike within 3 minutes he was out of town at a funeral would be back in town Monday and would be in touch.Next email from Mike was Tuesday stating guys would be out Wednesday… they did not make it. I sent the following email Thursday morning “ Michael,The guys did not make it yesterday when can I expect them to come to finish the roof? Will this crew also be the ones who will be rehanging the gutter in the back of the house so it actually drains to the downspout rather than have water pooling at the butt end of the gutter?”Mikes answer “Guys will be there today.”Notice not answer or acknowledgement of the question about the gutters. His guys did not show up until Saturday May 29th. There was no call or email to inform me they would be there that day.On Thursday June 3 I sent an email as my phone calls and messages were not being returned to ask about the gutters. On June 8th I sent an email since again phone calls were not being returned,” Mike,Again there was no answer from Mike. I made phone calls and left messages because Mike was always” conveniently out of the office. They all went unreturned. Frustrated with the lack of response I sent an email July2n promising if there was no response I would be contacting the BBB and CPA.I received a response from Mike’s Office manager on July 8th that a gutter tech would be out Saturday to “look at my gutters”. Man showed up looked at the pictures of not only the roof but the gutters, claimed tucking the shingles into the gutters was standard and insisting there was nothing wrong with the slope of the gutters.Even after pouring a 5 gallon bucket of water and seeing that there was about a quarter inch of water at the downspout end and ¾ Of an inch at the butt end the gutter tech was still trying to convince me that the gutter was going to drain…. It didn’t. The gutter tech put the proper slope on the gutters.Services: Roof installation

I was VERY satisfied with MD's Best Remodeling; the estimate was done quickly and they had the best prices. The crew that came was prompt, courteous, professional. The thing I recall most vividly was that the crew did an immaculate job. I literally didn't find so much as a stray shingle or roof nail when they had completed the job (a job well done too). I would strongly recommend MD's Best Remodeling, and i plan on having them install our new windows as well.Service: Roof installation

Had Maryland's Best come to my home to price a garage conversion. They walked the job and said I would have an estimate by Monday...no estimate, no communication. Even a "not interested" would have something. I provided a folder with contact information, picture and sketches. If you cant follow up as promised, I doubt you could be trusted to do the job. Call me the "one that got away".
