About Withers Wool
Withers Wool is a destination farm and fiber business on a beautiful 23-acre Maryland property. The farm raises Angora goats and Merino sheep for their fiber, with no pesticides used. Visitors are welcome for tours to meet the fun animals, including sheep, goats, peacocks, and chickens, and to see the gorgeous pond and pollinator garden. It is more than a yarn shop; it is a whole experience. The fiber is processed on the farm, where it is washed, dyed, and carded. They create an endless array of products for fiber artists, including exquisite traditional and art yarns, scrumptious batts, rovings, and finished goods. The fiber is soft, luxurious, and available in a myriad of wonderful colors. The shop itself is located in a renovated historic bank-barn. The atmosphere is very inviting, and guests can try equipment like spinning wheels. It is a fabulous place for spinners, knitters, crocheters, weavers, and animal lovers to find inspiration and learn about fiber processing. The enthusiasm for the farm and fiber is contagious, making it a local gem definitely worth the trip.

Unbelievable!!!! If you are a spinner, you will definitely want to come here! There are more well prepared rovings (mostly merino) of the most wonderful colors and softness than you can imagine. If you don't spin, there are also many handspun yarns, with a myriad of art yarn choices.

It’s like walking into a living postcard of rolling hills and acres of pastureland. A unique part of the experience is getting a complimentary tour from Marc, the owner, to see the merino sheep, angora goats, peacocks, and other animals that form the source material for the museum-caliber fiber art and yarns.
