Discovery Museum is a hands-on museum for families that blends science, nature, and play on a beautiful and accessible campus. It is a fun place and a great place to take kids, recommended for families with little ones up to 8 or 9 years old. All exhibits are hands-on, low-tech, open-ended, and interactive to encourage play and exploration. The museum features a favorite water room and a drawing table, where children can take home an inertia drawing. The accessible outdoor nature playscape and giant treehouse in Discovery Woods provide lots of fun things to do outside. While it can be very busy on weekends, weekday visits are more enjoyable. The staff is always friendly and helpful. It is a fantastic museum that kids can grow into, with different activities and exhibits that keep them occupied and interested. Families can spend the whole day, though indoor seating for lunch is limited on rainy or cold days. There is lots of parking, and it is located right off the highway. Discovery Museum is a recipient of a 2024 National Medal for Museum Service.
