We went into the cafe to get a meal.
Don't waste your time and money there.
Food and drinks: It worst burger I have ever eaten.
They used a ciabatta bun, no sauce, smashed veggies.

Restaurant staff was incredibly rude. Mistreated multiple clients. Had to leave without eating.

The views are great, but don't go there for breakfast. Confusion, unorganized, and no selection.

Hiking up the mountain in Adams for the annual ramble is always fun. The lodge use to make it fun with hot chocolate, milled apple cider, and snacks ALL DAY for people in the lodge.
This year, on a cold and rainy day, check for milled apple cider in the cafe and they had none and weren’t very kind about it.
As we were leaving the person told the people ordering food “You need to hurry and make a decision, we are closing breakfast”
Why on earth would you close for an hour till lunch on the day of the ramble, and also not have hot chocolate and cider? Then be rude to paying customers??
It has gone down hill at the lodge unfortunately. If you’re miserable and don’t want to be working there, then find something else to do. ESPECIALLY paying customers.

We were delighted to be able to get last min reservations for dinner. It is a one of a kind experience. We enjoyed the sunset with a bottle of wine on the patio while we awaited dinner

Decided to cut our morning hike short due to soupy weather and went here for breakfast. Staff berated us, intentionally bad service because we looked like "hikers" Vibes were way off. I wouldn't recommend stopping, much less staying here!

Extremely rude staff. Sign outside clearly states open for breakfast at 8 am but when people are trying to enter they are met with a locked door. Minutes later a rude man comes out and asks "what do you want" and we ask what time they open the sign says 8, he says let me check and the comes back and says they won't open until 11 and slams the door. Saw some guests coming out who said they were let in but they kicked out by another rude worker. This is clearly a trend judging by other reviews which is a shame because it seems like it could be a nice spot if the staff was up to par.

Visited this place two years ago and was great. This time was terrible. Dinner service started almost 30min late, and took forever to get drinks, a tiny little side salad, a tiny entree, and about three bites of a blueberry cobbler. I felt like I was being held hostage by the slow pace of everything. I actually went back to my room and ate a protein bar while waiting for my entree. Dinner must have been finished around 2.5 hours after the late start of 720pm. There was a bridal shower going on in the event room so maybe that was taking up a lot of the wait staff's attention. I mentioned to our server that my girlfriend's fish seemed under cooked and he just said "sorry" and walked away. As someone who used to be a server, a little bit of communication would have helped a lot. Just tell us that things are running behind and the kitchen is working as hard as they can, but not even acknowledging the potentially under cooked fish entree was unacceptable. Later that night the same group of women who were in the bridal shower were full on partying with a guitar and card games, dancing around in the main room, well after 10pm and kept waking me up, even though I was on the other side of the building. I walked out and there was no staff to talk to, had to open up the closed doors of the dining hall and the management staff was just sitting at one of the tables oblivious to the noise (not sure how that's even possible). I told them the situation and they told the girls to quiet down. I hate to be that a-hole but I'm sure I wasn't the only one who couldn't sleep due to the noise and people just didn't want to be complainers about it. I'm all for a good party, but not at the expense of other people's sleep. Later on in the morning the management was apologetic about the noise. If I had a friend visiting this place, I would tell them to go when there was no other event happening, or bring ear plugs just in case, and to also bring your own food or eat a huge lunch because the dinner portions are tiny, and dinner itself might end up being late. Besides that the views from the top of the mountain are great, and the mountain air is fantastic. I can't even remember the last time I wrote any review on any establishment, but this visit really bothered me so I wanted to share it.

Thought it would be a good idea to stop, mid hike and have breakfast. Me and a friend had camped in the backcountry the night prior and wanted a good home cooked meal. Boy was I wrong!
Firstly, we opened the website and saw it opened for breakfast at 8 so we showed up promptly at 8. To start, the dude at the counter with long dreaded hair to his knees was extremely rude. Didn’t even greet us or ask how we were doing or anything. He just muttered under his breath, “u want breakfast” and then pointed to where we could go. I get he was tired but it was insanely rude and weird. Then, the lady at the counter who was actually very kind told us that breakfast was $10 without the home fries cuz they weren’t ready yet, even tho they opened at 8 and should have been prepared. We sat down and waited, and I went up to go get some coffee and cereal. The coffee ended up being included but apparently the cereal wasn’t. I took a bowl and started eating it when she came over and told me it wasn’t included and I had to pay extra. She scolded at me and told me that it said nowhere on it that was complimentary, and that it was only for people staying at the lodge. Guess what! It also didn’t say it was for guests only. How was I supposed to know??? There is a table in the middle of the room, seems pretty complimentary to me.
She brought us our food eventually, and it was very bad. Totally stale overcooked bacon that was like charcoal, room temp eggs that tasted like cardboard.
stay away.

A beautiful little place to stay. I stayed here in June 2024 as part of a return trip to the Northeast state high points. I booked a private room, which had a bed that was nice and cozy. Had a delicious breakfast as well. My only complaint is that the showers were shared, but when the building is this old, there is only so much that can be done to correct it. All in all, a nice little stay. Friendly hosts bent over backward to make sure I had WiFi for Game 3 of the Stanley Cup Finals that night. Now, I have stayed at hotels on all three state high points that have them (Cheaha Mountain AL and Magazine Mountain AR are the other two). Highly recommended.
Rooms: Small but comfortable.
Safety: Extremely safe.
Walkability: Easy walk to the monument marking the highest point.

The best deal on their menu is two hot dogs for $6.50. It’s a nice place to stop before heading down the mountain
