An employee at this Amherst MA location was very hostile and screamed at my 9th grader today for taking pictures on the sidewalk for a school project. I am sure she was stressed, but that was very unprofessional behavior.

Pleasant experience! I was in and out in a hot second. The machines were clean and it was well lit.

This place is a case study in how to fail at serving your customers. How can you make it difficult for them? How can you be sure they feel no reward for their loyalty? How can we make our systems full of barriers and need for appointments in advance that they will never come back. You successfully drove us away.

Bank of America is the worst bank in America! They charge you for everything. They make you do all the work. They don't answer the phones. They are completely useless. Will be switching banks.

GREAT experience at the Amherst Bank of America branch. My friend and I went to open some student checking accounts and walked out with not only cards in our hands and smiles on our faces but a new friend in our hearts. Tiffany was more than helpful and made the usual boring chore of going to the bank a delightful way to spend our afternoon. Thank you Tiffany for all that you have done for us. Wouldn't want to open an account with anybody else. Though, I'm sure, every other employee at this branch is incredibly competent and kindhearted.

$8 fee to cash a check from Bank of America as a non-member! What bank thinks this is a good policy for wooing new clients? Obviously this is a corporate policy and not just this branch, but this branch gave me the bad news, so they get the negative review. If you don't have an account there (and why would you, their fees are insane and their rates of return are mediocre) STAY AWAY!

In 1975 John Denver released the song, "Toledo," which describes all the excitement Toledo, Ohio offers tourists: "Saturday night in Toledo, Ohio is like being nowhere at all. All through the day how the hours rush by you sit in the park and you watch the grass die..." I would rather be forced to spend an evening in Toledo, Ohio than visit this bank, and as someone who's spent an overnight in Toledo waiting for a bus, that's saying something. I would also rather be forced to watch paint dry than visit this bank, although given the speed of service the experience wouldn't be much different. Here's why: -The bank has eight counters where eight different tellers could quickly assist you and the other customers, but no matter what time you arrive, you'll only find a single teller all the way down to the right. Her only setting is Extra Slow and she's cranky as hell. For instance, when I asked her for a roll of quarters I ended my request with "if that's alright" and she looked at me and remarked snidely, "Do I have a choice?" I'm not asking for a celebration, but outright hostility, really? -The lack of tellers leads to 5-10 people long lines, again, no matter what time you visit. This means that even the most routine transaction can take a solid 30 minutes. A manager will eventually approach you in line to ask if they can assist you, which of course they can't because they're not tellers, so instead they just stand there smiling at people as they come in the doors serving no function whatsoever. The line actually got so bad once that when a manager approached the three customers in front of me their conversations went something like this: "Can I assist you today?" "Yes, you can hire more tellers." "Can I assist you today?" "Yes, you can hire more tellers." "Can I..." You get the idea. I followed suit. -As you enter and exit you may encounter a deranged man protesting outside, waving signs around with such colorful messages as "Bring back the b**** slap" and "Trump has balls but you don't." If you've ever imagined what it would be like to watch glaciers spread through North America during the Ice Age, visit the Amherst branch of Bank of America.

This business needs to look at its management of client concerns. It took 2 hours to accomplish a task that should have taken 15 minutes. Their system of making appointments needs an overhaul. They require an appointment for helping with matters that a few years ago would have been handled on the spot. When you make an appointment, and they call and email a total of 3 reminders that you have an appointment with them, they still are not ready to see you at the appointed time. Instead they tell you you should have put down the nature of your business (when said nature was not part of their drop down menu of choices and so you chose "other" with no option for explaining the reason for choosing it). While waiting for someone to see me I conversed with another "satisfied" customer who said "I'd leave this bank in a heartbeat, but I'm in too deep!" which explains my feelings exactly.

Witnessed a really awkward scene here today... a guy came in to make a deposit and asked very politely why he was being charged a fee on his checking account... the teller asked the girl next to her and she loudly shouted to the man, "DO YOU HAVE A JOB? DO THEY PAY YOU?" in a pretty unpleasant tone. There was probably a better, less insulting way to explain the nuances of direct deposit qualified service-fee waivers. I already avoid this bank because they are always trying to sell you things... you literally can not get a roll of quarters without being offered a mortgage or a credit card.
