Alex at the front desk was super helpful and friendly! Check-in took less than 5 minutes and I was taken back for my exam in about another 5 minutes. There was water and coffee available in the waiting room and the Doctor was very nice. I'll be back!

I really like doctor Vachula. He would definitely be more of a wizard than a muggle if you get the Harry Potter reference. The My Eye Doctor office in Amherst could use a little cleaning and he was not on time at all- but the staff was really friendly and upbeat and he was super nice and careful to clean the equipment, and his exam was thorough and I trusted his assessment of my weird eye disease which has a name I can never pronounce. He knew I was in a hurry and he got me out quickly.

Reception was extremely rude.We had an appointment scheduled, which we checked in online for. The office called us to confirm the appointment and we missed the call, but since we had already checked in online we did not return their call (the voicemail said nothing about a cancellation for the record). We come in on our scheduled appointment time only for the receptionist to tell us that our appointment is canceled, and that the only reason they allowed us to check in online is to have us come in - so that they could tell us that the appointment was cancelled! This is not any way to speak to people, and there is absolutely no reason to make us go all the way to the office just to tell us that the appointment is cancelled. Either cancel the option for online check in or accept them - using it to make people come in so that they can be told that their appointment is cancelled?!Very unprofessional. Will not be coming in again.

I had an appointment here at the Amherst office I feel like the exam may have been a bit short but when I was looking for glasses it was like yea your on your own no one attempted to help me I had to seek someone for they're opion. Then when I did get my glasses back I tried them on in office and immediately I was like something isn't right but I haven't worn llglasses in such a long time I thought maybe I needed to get adjusted to them, so I'm walking around my house which has now turned into a fun house due to these glasses or it looks like walking around drunk so I knew something was wrong so I decided to go to the Northampton location and brought in my glasses and wouldn't you know it there was a problem the staff tested my glasses against my script and sure enough the script was off in the glasses so now I'm waiting another 4 weeks for 1 pair of glasses.talo about a headache I'm both ways!

I took a chance here with the reviews, abd had a lot of anxiety about this visit. Office is clean, the Dr (Dr Vachula) was very thorough with his exam, and the person who helped me look at frames was very polite and professional. Had great conversations with both so there was no awkward silence! ?

Convient online booking, but not worth it! Waited 2 months for my appointment, recieved numerous reminders this week, leading up to my appointment today, including an email yesterday, just to arrive to my appointment to read a posted sign stating they are unexpectedly closed for the past 3 days. Boo!

Bought two sets of glasses. Paid the bill ( in full) upon ordering. The following week we received a bill for $90 in the mail. After calling their corporate office, they told us that the bill we paid was only an "estimate" even though we were told by the optician that we were paid in full, also, the receipt does not state that it was just an estimate. Deceptive business practice to say the least.

Had my appointment and ordered glasses, received a text that my order was ready and drove 30 minutes to the office only to find out it was closed without notice or a reopening date. I wasn't the only one let down as patients were showing up and apparently weren't notified they were closed (not cool). The sign said to call the Northhampton office for help, which I did. They had no clue what was going on. It isn't clear when the office will reopen or how I will get my glasses- ever. Totally uncool way to treat customers . Even called their main number and corporate headquarters had no idea what was going on.I'd recommend looking elsewhere for an eye doctor for more reliable service.

I've been trying to make an appointment for 3days now. Everytime I called no one answered during business hours. I even left a voicemail yesterday and still no returned call. I tried scheduling online and was met with the response "limited availability call the office" ? I finally was able to get a person on the phone today. I tried to schedule my 9yr old annual appointment and was rejected because the NEW dr won't see children under 10yrs old even though my son was seen twice previously...I'll just take my business back to lasik eye in west Springfield.

These guys helped me in a pinch! It was the height of the pandemic, September 2020, and since I couldn't see my former eye doctor back at home, I went to them. They had to fight tooth and nail to get my prescription from the other guys. When they finally did, they gave me a free pair of eye glasses and a box of contacts since I waited so long (no fault of theirs, the eye doctors in my home town were borderline refusing to give out my prescription). I wasn't even upset and they still went above and beyond. I graduated in 2021 so I'll probably never see them again, but I recommend students to go here if they are in a pinch like I was.

Now that I am no longer a patient of their office I feel there will be no retribution to me, telling how they have treated me as a patient in their Amherst office. In the year 2021. They had so many personnel changes and issues with their staff, and I heard that excuse and apology at Least 7-8 times. But that is no excuse to the poor treatment I received. Believe it or not, believe it! It took them FIVE tries to get my prescription correct! It was over 4 months that I had to wear my old glasses because they couldn’t fill THEIR OWN prescription correctly at their labs. I finally took the last pair, even though the tinting wasn’t the correct color. Sitting down at the desk in the front with the guy who was billing me actually had the nerve to tell me that my bill was going to be $835 even with my insurance and I gasped and said I think you better check your numbers again because my insurance covers these charges and he looked at it and said oh yeah! I see you have insurance. it’s just $35 as a co-pay. What the heck!? The final straw was the fact that 2/23/23 we had a big snowstorm here with ice and my apartment complex did not clean the steps and I had to clean my car and get to it and the funny thing is I’m on crutches. I spoke to the office in the morning and Told them I would be there for my 1230 appointment. I was late. I didn’t realize that I would have to negotiate the walk to the car On Crutches, the deck, the steps, and then a long sidewalk to the parking lot which my complex did not shovel. The customary time to wait is 15 minutes, but I walked in at 12:50. (That would be 5 minutes after the cutoff) with my crutches and my foot in a cast and a plastic bag covering my casted foot and they wouldn’t see me! I asked her to ask the doctor and the receptionist did. I asked her to inform him that I’m handicapped, and I could wait, and she said “I can make an appointment that is two months away”, without caring at all about my journey that I made to get to their office. So I will not be going there again. I don’t recommend you go there either! However, I feel the care I received inside the examination rooms was very good. In the examination rooms, the doctors did all the appropriate tests and the Drs were all qualified and courteous. It’s everybody on the outside of the examination rooms that has zero customer service, and even though there was a large turnover many months in 2021, it was no excuse for the inability for my glasses to be filled by their prescription incorrectly five times! Even the nice quiet girl with the curly long hair began to cry when she saw how long it was taking for them to get my glasses right! And how about being Inconsiderate to me being CLEARLY Handicapped on a very icy and snowy day!

Staff is disorganized. Customer service is far below average. Initial eye care appointment was chaotic. I was ghosted for just shy of 4 weeks while trying to purchase a replacement for a cracked lense less than a year after my first appointment.Call 1: 1/26/2023 Staff member takes down my personal info and said they can order lenses and will call me back.Call 2: 2/6/2023 Staff member takes down my personal info again and said lenses were never ordered. They are less than polite and rush me off the call and tell me they'll call back. I naively assumed it would be to inform of order pickup, lense availability, or to take payment info.Call 3: 2/22/2023 Staff member takes down my personal info again and tells me lenses were never ordered. I'm told that someone should have taken my payment info because I didn't pay for warranty. At this point I gave up and requested my script info so that I could take my business elsewhere. No calls or voicemails. No follow up of any kind. This wasn't an oddball request. I gave a clear and concise detail, and I had payment info ready if it were requested. I'm also not some needy, impatient, or grouchy customer. I made this as easy as I could for them while I patiently squinted through a broken lense for a month assuming they were lovingly forging my corrective eye care from the finest plastic that money can buy.

If there were negative stars that would be true. Do not waste good time and money, this place has changed so much. They call one a liar, do not help, difficult to talk to someone knowledgeable and then they give you a bad attitude, like you are not worthy of the time to talk. Glasses fall apart after a couple wearings and they will not repair them. Have to go to someone else for help, meanwhile eyes are in bad shape. Beware, nothing like the old office was.

I had my eye exam and attempt for a contact fitting back in November of 2022 at the Amherst location. The eye doctor was decent, actually listened to my concerns regarding my vision history which was great.Unfortunately, they didn't have any contacts for me to try and they had to order new ones and that I would need to do all of this within 90 days of the contact fitting or the eye dr would need to do a new one. Fast forward January 2023, i am scheduled for the rest of the contact fitting. I went in and was told they misplaced the lenses they ordered for me and wanted me to try ones "close" to the ones they originally ordered. I had blurry vison with the ones they had me try. The technician told me they would order the right contacts again and once they came in they would schedule another appointment for the rest of the contact fitting/"squeeze me in somewhere so I will be within the 90 days of my original appointment" so I don't have to pay again for a new contact fitting.Fast forward to this week (February), I get a call, the new contacts are in however the receptionist told me the earliest they could let me try them on would be APRIL. I tried to explain to the receptionist how the contacts were misplaced or given to another patient at my appointment last month and howan appointment in April would be past the 90 days and then I WOULD HAVE TO PAY FOR ANOTHER CONTACT LENS FITTING. She said I could speak to a manager to see what could be done .I asked if I could be transfered to the manager. Receptionist then said she was not in today. I asked if I could have the first name of the manager so I could call back tomorrow between 8 and 4 when said manager will be back in.Receptionist WOULD NOT GIVE ME A NAME. Wow. Very professional. I rarely give reviews but I am very disappointed that given the circumstances of everything being pushed back and not solved, when I asked to speak to manager to see what could be done after the receptionist suggested speaking to a manager, she later would not transfer me nor atleast give me a first name to contact during the next business day. Unbelievable. I rarely give reviews but sadly if you need a new contact prescription, look somewhere else or atleast don't make the same mistake I did and be told to pay for the contact fitting at my initial appointment even tho it was NEVER completed.
