The vets and the staff are caring, and gentle with her. They don’t rush through her appointments. If any issues are found, the vet tells us clearly and concisely. We all discuss the treatments that are available, and what options will work best, given Diva’s temperament and her behaviors. We are very satisfied with the care that Diva is receiving, and would not bring her anywhere else.”

“I love Shawsheen Animal Hospital! I’ve been going here for over 15 years with all of my dogs and I’ve always appreciated the compassion, patience, knowledge, and care that they provide. The staff is always welcoming whenever I go in with either of my dogs and their friendliness and service is unmatched. “Very nice caring people work here , prices seem very high we only have hope that they know what they are doing. Two years ago after a number of tests we were convinced to have done our cat was diagnosed with terminal cancer, thankfully we didn't put her down as she's still a playful and somewhat angry cat. We have never had issues other than that one time as we're a little concerned that every time we bring a pet there they up sale services and tests and sometimes we hesitate going when our pets are having issues because of this, but unfortunately thats the way it goes.”

“To start off with I have to say the doctors, vet techs, and door greeters are great. There is a lot of staff and a few I assume are administrative. The new office is very attractive. After reading some of the reviews I can see that some of the cons are unfair because in any practice of medicine there are protocols and to make a diagnosis you do need to perform test to rule out other probable causes and many people do not understand that. I brought my dog to the clinic and was satisfied with the care. I came only because it wasn't corporate, and the Middlesex Animal Hospital closed, and its great DMV referred me. I do believe the care is superior to corporate care BUT the costs are extremely high, but I guess if you want high end service you must pay high end prices. If you are a senior and on a fixed income this is not the place for you. To sum it up, docs, techs and door greeters are very friendly and caring. If you are on social security and a fixed income this place is not for you. I was lucky enough to return to my original vet because he reopened his practice, and he has an exceptional reputation around my area and pricing for those financially constrained is affordable.”

“I don't even know where to begin ... Dr. Martha Lindsay is kind, compassionate and I can't thank her and her staff enough for all they did for my dog, Kota. We started seeing Dr. Lindsay a few years back when we struggled with Kota's liver values. Kota was a dog who didn't medicated easily, and surgery was not something we wanted to put her through. She bounced back through nutritional response (changing her eating and cooking for her made a huge difference!) and then homeopathy over the past few years. I do believe we got an extra few amazing years with Kota thanks to Dr Lindsay. We recently had to say goodbye to Kota - the hardest decision a pet parent ever has to make. But I know we did our best! I highly recommend Alternative Vet Services for your pets. They truly care.”

We especially thank you for referring him to Massachusetts Veterinary Referral Hospital in Woburn, where he underwent surgery for a blockage in his intestines (which turned out to be a missing sock!). Drs. Sanders and Frem at MVRH performed the successful surgery on February 2, 2026. We thought we might lose our Baer before he had surgery but everything went well, and he is recovering quickly and getting back to his normal self. In addition, we would like to thank Sam at the Reception Desk, who is always so kind to Julie. Anything serious, I take them to the ER, Riverside doesn't have overnight care, and I have a cat with asthma, but they really took good care of him when he was first diagnosed.”

“Seen for emergent dog care and I would go back. The staff were all great. Vet explained the treatment plan and range of services we may need. Unfortunately one the service (ultrasound) needed the following day was not available that weekend, can't remember if it was just for that weekend but we were transfer to their sister hospital the next day. Pet emergency can be expensive, get pet insurance if you can afford it because some will cover costs.”
