About Aquinnah Cliffs Overlook
Aquinnah Cliffs Overlook is a stunning and peaceful spot on the island, offering beautiful views of the cliffs and the ocean. Visitors can enjoy a short walk along a trail that leads past local artisan shops, where they can find locally made treats like Yommi pops, which are tasty and made with real ingredients. The overlook provides great photo opportunities, especially at sunset, and the scenery is breathtaking from this high vantage point. Nearby, there is a large field perfect for relaxing, playing frisbee, or throwing a ball while waiting for a bus or enjoying the fresh air. While the beach area is not part of the overlook, it looks nice and is close by for those interested in exploring further. Entry to the overlook is free, but it costs $6 per person over 12 to visit the lighthouse, which can be toured if desired. The historic Gay Head Light is a small, charming lighthouse that faces west, offering spectacular sunset views. The area is owned and operated by a Native American nation, with craft stores, a small museum about the Wampanoag Tribe, and food stands nearby. The cliffs are constantly eroding, adding to their natural beauty, and the nearby Aquinnah Beach is popular with visitors. Parking is ample, but arriving early is recommended during busy times, as the lot fills quickly. Overall, it is a perfect quiet spot with beautiful scenery, shops, and a historic lighthouse, making it well worth a visit.

Nice views for a short stop on an island tour. Shops are a bit of a tourist trap, over priced.

Nice walk, fresh air, historic lighthouse. Veiws are nice and it's very quiet compared to the rest of the island. Getting there it's tight roads and lots of bicyclist make for a slow drive.
