Go with Verizon if you can -- amazingly, it'll be better for you. I've had internet with Astound for about five years now, and I can tell you the service is reliably awful. I've been paying for gigabit speeds and reliably receiving 20 Mb/s download. The quality is atrocious, with outages showing up every couple of weeks within my area. Customer support is one of the most unhelpful I've ever seen. When calling in to complain about my service being unreliable and bad enough to impact my work, they proceeded to try and upsell me on their mobile plan. If their phone reliability is in the same realm as their internet, I'd sooner move to smoke signals and carrier pigeons.

Very slow download and upload speed. The real download speed is 30Mbps and upload speed is 80 Mbps and I pay for 500 Mbps. Very disappointed with customers' service as well. No one was ready to help me when I wanted to change service plan. I am going to leave this provider and find better one. Would give 0 stars if possible and wouldn't recommend.

Well priced internet, but the $100 off coupon they advertise when signing up for internet never activated, even when we called in and a representative said it would. They still charge full price every month anyways ?

I have been on the phone several times with customer service and the sales reps. The sales reps quoted me a price and guaranteed the monthly cost. The bill was different. They do not call me back after leaving several messages. Customer service can't connect me to the sales rep department. I'm very frustrated with promises of call backs and being told the back office denied my request but they won't let me call the back office. I questioning whether I should have stayed with Verizon

In the nicest way possible, please avoid this company. I was supposed to get a partial refund for my last month of payment. There supposedly sent a refund check, but it never came in the mail. I asked for the refund check again, and it never came in the mail. I then asked to send it to a different address, and it still never came in the mail. Again, I asked it to be sent again, and the check never came. I was then promised that the refund would be directly deposited to my account, but that never happened. I called again for the refund to be deposited directly in my account, and if it did not arrive, a representative would call. They never called. I got 2 different case number for my situation, and none of it was used to alert the higher authorities. Ultimately, after 6 months of calling 12 times about my case, I was once again promised about my case and that the check would be sent to my mail. It never came. I gave up. I lost money. I was frauded.

I cannot recommend this service to anyone in the Boston area. I have consistently gotten lag or full service outages at critical times for my work and group gaming experiences, regardless of the level of internet speed that I'm paying for. The one thing I ask for from internet is stability and consistency and I've never gotten this from RCN (the constant rate increases is also a toxic experience as a consumer)

Customer Service over the phone was very helpful to me I told her my Wi-Fi wasn't working strong enough she had recommended that I went and switched out my modem at the Arlington location on Mass Ave, and that's where I came in the customer service rep Richelle was helping me doing great Richelle gets five stars! until her co-worker I think her name is Jen gets zero stars! was very rude very argumentative with me I was trying to explain to her that my Wi-Fi was only running at 300 megabytes on when I was paying for 500 megabytes! And if you look at the way they tear it I should only be paying for the cheap tear is like 300 megabytes mid-grade is 500 and the expense of is like 900 or 1000 Champagne for The 500 MB which is mid-grade but I'm only getting $300 which is the cheap so they're charging me double the amount of money so it's kind of like a scam I feel never had an issue when I was with Comcast with my Wi-Fi or Internet ever always ran high speed and instead of a agreeing with me and trying to help me she was trying to argue with me trying to spin the story and acting like that 500 megabytes I share with the neighborhood that has nothing to do with me I don't pay for the neighbors wifi I pay for my own wifi. Instead of trying to make in the situation better for the customer she made it worse horrible customer service and that's why it's a one star because I couldn't give it 0 ⭐

Very shady business practices. Representative initially signed up with a certain price with 2 year lock in. When the bill came, it was silently jacked up. When I called the customer service - they said they cannot do anything about it. They would apply all shady business practices to get people to switch over to their network because they know it is not easy for people to swapping networks again and again. I feel cheated and swindled by this company.
