Just had a twilight zone experience with this Avis. They cancelled my reservation and didn’t give me a refund. What is even going on here? I will be filing a complaint with the relevant groups and authorities

Disgusting company. My father in law had a stroke and is in hospice and we need to drive to West Virginia, so we found a car at Avis that would work (I’m disabled and it’s very hard to find a suitable vehicle for a long car ride). We reserved it yesterday and she wrapped our name around the keys and promised it would be there this afternoon. Now we went to pick it up and they are telling us we can’t rent it because corporate said not to rent that car. There’s nothing wrong with it and we are trying to get down there as soon as we can. I’m so disgusted and devastated at being treated this way.

A different Avis location had rented me a faulty car and ruined my vacation, so I returned it to this location hoping that would be the end of it. Then this location read a patently false fuel level and charged me for gas, when I had just refueled to full at the BJ's right next to the airport, two minutes before returning the car. Talk about adding insult to injury.

Do not rent at Avis HYA airport. Cancelled our reservation and left us without a car for an entire week of vacation. Useless customer service

Alrhough the car wasnt the greatest, (had cosmetic damage and needed mechanical attention), Jynn was the employee who was working (at the Hyannis location), when I picked up and dropped off and was super kind and helpful. I will definitely be renting from them again. The transaction was very easy and the price was great!

Great cars, wonderful prices, awesome customer service with exception of Lisa. I was within my 30 min grace period today abd i was only 2 mins late but that was due to the storm, trees are blocking roads everywhere and she tried to charge me for an additional hour so i filed the 2nd complaint against that one specific worker. Bedosess that i jad a blast, we went and saw our.kids at their colleges for Christmas and i couldnt be more happier. Despite Lisa i thank Avis for all you do!!! Merry Christmas

After paying for our rental online they hit us with another $250 deposit on pick up. Have never had this happen with any other rental company I've used. The car itself was in less than pristine shape for a rental with a huge dent in the back that we had to go in and tell them about to make sure we didn't get blamed it's a good thing we did because they had no clue. The vehicle was needing an oil and air filter change 100 miles into our 1500 drive. Any other rental I've ever had is a brand new fully loaded vehicle and this was far from that and insanely uncomfortable. About the only good it served was to eliminate the Traverse from my list of vehicles I'm going to look at when I buy a new one in a few months. Thanks for making a stressful situation even more stressful.

We waited an hour for our rental, even after making a reservation and prepaying. The reason was a lack of cars, and waiting for returned cars to be cleaned. Luckily we had flexibility with time, but this was not appreciated.

Wish I could give Avis 0 stars. I showed up at 4pm for my 4pm reservation and was informed by another rental car company that the "Avis staff had closed early". Myself, and 3 other parties of people were forced to find other ways to get home that were much more expensive. What kind of rental car company closes early knowing they have reservations to fulfill later that day?
