Stopped in a few weeks ago looking for a bottle of bourbon and got to talking to the guy who does private barrel picks for corporate. He introduced me to Tim and we had a nice chat about how insane the bourbon market is these days. After mentioning I had been looking for a bottle of Penelope and Weller 107 he pointed out a few other bottles and even provided some samples. Before I was going to check out, Tim came back with a ticket for a bottle of Weller (which I never had before!). Great individuals there and I will be back soon with customer service like that! Thanks alot!

When I walked in Monday November 15th, I overheard a conversation from someone whom I assume works for security (big guy, walks with a limp, sounded like his name was John from what I could hear), saying some extremely racist and sexist things, talking about shooting black people, following people of color around because they like to steal, objectifying women customers, etc. This isn't the first time I've heard him doing this, either, so it seems to be a pretty common thing. Pretty sad that such a great liquor store chain would have someone like this working security for them. I certainly won't be shopping at any Luke's again as long as they support a sexist bigot like this.

We dropped in hoping to find some of the rarer bottles of bourbon that are hit or miss and scored with a Blanton's and a Weller. Our timing was just right. Their prices are very good so we picked up a Widow Jane and a couple of New England bottles which was can't get back home in NJ. Tim was very helpful.

I wish I could believe that this review would make a difference but the sad fact is it probably won't. If there was an award for "the worst customer service" this place would get it. But the math works out like this... you have loosing between 13 and 15 percent of your total gross profit because you refuse to acknowledge the value of customer service. Your employees live to tell people "No", catch people stealing, and run off pan-handelers. That is a "piss-poor" strategy at best. Thank God for Kappy's. As for me and my family we would rather give our money to people who use English as a second language. I kid you not!!!!!

What people don't understand is that its Massachusetts state law that they have to card everyone in your party, in the car in the lot, the people hanging out outside waiting for you, the 15yr old kid who came in with you carrying your 30pk (which yes, kids can go in the store, but are NOT allowed to touch any alcohol, and if staff sees a minor holding it, pointing to it or carrying it, can refuse entire sale even if they are with a parent).... ...If they are caught NOT ID'ing people in the whole party, they can lose thier liquor license and pay thousands and thousands in fines.. Too many kids who turn 21 and have a car of minors think its okay to still purchase alcohol, when they can be fined and lose way more money than they would make making that sale. Mass law also says that 'out of state' ID's can be refused at ANY package store for any/no reason. Moral of the story, you don't bring minors with you when you get alcohol, you OFFER your ID before its even asked for, and you don't get angry with people who are only doing thier job bc there are laws in place. Usually the people who get angry are the people who just don't know the biz and don't understand the laws. The staff at Luke's are knowledgeable, helpful and kind. Always have a great time there.

Morons. Stopped in and walked up to the counter and they asked me (30) if my friends in the car were all 21. Of course they were, "do they have IDs" no we travel around without them. He made me walk out to my brand new two door BMW 435 (that you know, just any minors could afford) and my friend from New Zealand pulled out her NZ drivers license, which he said he couldn't take. So she started to get out to get her passport from the trunk. I said forget it we will go somewhere else. 4 employees and zero customers. Makes sense dick heads. So now just went down the road and got what we needed and spent our money else where LEGALLY. So if you have a small car with 3-4 friends stuffed in, just park around the corner or better yet GO SOMEWHERE ELSE.
