I was referred by my sister who found her dress here many years ago and I was not disappointed! After looking at their dresses online I had a few favorites that I wanted to try on. The shop was very organized and Jackie was very helpful in helping me find the styles I was interested in. The experience was easy and still very special looking for the perfect dress. I ended up finding "my dress" and can not wait to show it off. Will definitely recommend to friends!

This shop is fabulous. I have had many clients purchase dresses from Jackie and come to my studio for alterations. Her dresses are beautiful and the brides are thrilled with the cost. Thanks Jackie for a great shop. Virginia...d.b.a Virginia's Custom Bridal Designs of Danvers...

I dropped off my wife's wedding gown at Over the Rainbow to see if I could sell it. When I called to check on the status of the gown, I was told that it hadn't sold yet. I called after six months to get the gown back, but she told me that she didn't know whether she still had my gown or not. She said she would check and call me back, but I did not get a call back for several months. So my wife called again and left a message. This time, she did call back and told us that she still had the dress and that we could pick it up. She was nice enough to give the dress back to us, even though she technically had the right to ownership (according to the sales agreement). Overall, I would note that it's difficult to get a hold of the owner, and it's hard to visit the store because it's only open three days a week (or by appointment). Frankly, I don't know how successful a store can be in selling secondhand wedding dresses with such limited hours. If you're trying to sell your dress here, I recommend that you write a reminder on the calendar, because Over the Rainbow won't remind you when the 6-month period is up.

I dropped off my dress last April. I called 4 times to check to see if my dress sold or if I should pick it up. The first time I called they said it was tried on few times but not sold yet and it would be there for 6 months. Second time I called they were on vacation. Third time I called it was past 6 months and the lady said she would check and get back to me. She never did. I left an other message and I'm assuming they don't have it. I never got a call or email that they wanted me to pick it up and I did follow up a few times. I'm not very happy about it and I would not suggest doing business at this store!!!! The worst is the run around!!! Just be up front!!!! I have no clue if they have the dress, sold it, or donated it!!!!

I visited here after trying a number of wedding dress stores, both the major chains and small boutiques. This was important and I would recommend doing so because I already had an idea of what dresses looked good on me and what I was looking for. I ended up purchasing my dress here, it was a brand new dress that a bride no longer wanted. The dresses are pre-owned and some worn once but not all, some are samples and some are new. There was a large selection of dresses both in my size and in general. (I am a street size 6 wedding dress size 8 or 10) The owner was very friendly and extremely helpful. She was experienced with wedding dresses and gave advice as to what looked good, how easy stains would be to remove, and the realities of what a tailor could alter and would be fairly easy to change or work with on the dresses. I loved how practical she was and that such a store exists for those of us who do not want/cannot afford to pay 1,000+ for a quality dress. There were also many veils to chose from and I ended up purchasing one with the dress. I would definitely recommend checking this place out before purchasing your dress just to see if what you are looking for may be in stock (for less than at another store), since it is a consignment store the inventory is constantly changing.

I have done business with Jackie ( the owner ) in the past, and that is why I returned recently to consign a wedding gown. When Priscilla's of Boston was going out of business, I ran to them and bought an "impulse " gown, Needless to say, my venue and my vision for my perfect wedding dress changed. After a few months, my new with tags, Priscilla couture bridal gown sold. Jackie was great with communicating with me via e-mail, especially when I wanted to see if there had been any interested brides. I am happy that a bride to be got a better deal than I did on the Priscilla gown. And Jackie mailed me a check which I am using towards my new dream gown.

I dropped my gown off for consignment about 6 months ago. I was impressed with this little "hidden jewel" . Jackie has many high end gowns at a very reasonable price but look closely.......... most have stains & tears and will need repairs/cleaning along with your alterations. What I found most offensive and caught me off guard was an email I received after my gown had been there for a few months. It stated that my gown had not sold and if I did not pick it up within less than a month (actually I had about 10 days!) she would assume I did not want it and would donate it to charity! Really?! It was a very frigid email considering the value of the gown!

I went here as my first wedding dress shopping experience, which was a good and a bad thing. It was good because I had the opportunity to sift through the racks myself to try anything and everything that caught my eye. It was bad because in my very first wedding dress appointment there is no way I would have committed to a dress anywhere, and at a place like that there is certainly no guarantee it will be there for me when I'm ready. I didn't find "the one" on my first shopping trip anyways. I may return after looking elsewhere, as their stock is constantly changing. Very casual atmosphere, no pressure at all. A wide range of styles. When I told her my budget was $1,000 (which is very doable there!) she checked prices to make sure I wasn't trying on ones I couldn't afford so I wouldn't torture myself if I fell in love with them.

I went to Over the Rainbow to look for a wedding dress in May of 2009. I like to comb through dressed myself rather than have someone who just met me pick my dream dress, so this was the right place for me. The owner was busy with another bride who was ordering invitations, so my mom and I went into the (small) back room where the dresses were and we pulled anything that may have caught our eye in a range of sizes. I found about 10 dresses to try on, a few of which were the exact same dresses that I had tried on (new) at other shops. 1or 2 of them fit okay, but none of them were "the one". I have a tough body to fit because I'm quite tall, so most of the problems had to do with length. The dresses are priced at half of what the original purchase price and the brands range from David's Bridal to Vera Wang. If you're lucky, you could end up with a beautiful designer gown at 50% off. Most of the dresses already have a bustle ready to go. The owner said that their stock is constantly changing and that many brides find their dress on the 2nd or 3rd visit. The owner was helpful while I was trying on dresses, but the dressing room was also the room where all the dresses were and it was cramped. Also, beware that they don't take credit/debit cards, so bring a checkbook in case you find "the dress". I may head back there to find a veil (they have a lot of head pieces) since I think it's ridiculous to spend hundreds on a veil.

I had dropped off a bridal gown that I purchased early on in my engagement to have sold at Over the Rainbow. After 6 months, it hadn't sold, which is fine, so I scheduled an appointment in July to have my fiance pick it up during a work day. Since he works in Cambridge he took time out of his work day to drive up to Wenham to pick it up and when he got there the shop was closed and the woman was not there. I had even called and left a message that morning confirming the appointment. After 30 minutes the woman finally called my fiance back and told him she forgot and would be there in 20 minutes. The drop off was fine, but found the pick-up of the dress very unprofessional. I would not recommend this place due to lack of professionalism and punctuality.
