“I wanted to take a moment to thank Julie for our beautiful custom picture frames. My husband and I came into the shop unsure of what to expect, as we had never had artwork custom framed before, but we needed help framing pieces we brought back from Italy with unique dimensions. Julie offered thoughtful, professional recommendations on frame styles that would best complement our artwork, and we couldn’t be happier with how everything turned out. Not to mention, she is incredibly sweet and delightful to work with. I would highly recommend this local business to anyone in need of custom framing!”
“The Addison Gallery of American Art is the kind of place you almost don’t want to talk about. A hidden gem that actually earns the phrase, tucked quietly into the world like a secret someone forgot to keep. Free admission, no crowds, no theatrics. Just art. Good art. The kind that doesn’t need a marketing team or a block-long line of tourists to validate it.
For its size, the curation is absurdly strong. Rooms that feel deliberate, thoughtful, almost more carefully assembled than the sprawling halls of bigger museums that drown you in volume. A confidence you don’t expect from a modest footprint, each show feeling more intentional than the last. Curated by people who clearly care.
The staff are the sort you hope for: friendly without being chirpy, knowledgeable without lecturing, passionate in that quiet way that tells you they’re not faking it for a paycheck. It’s clean, quiet, almost meditative; it's an environment that invites you to sit, breathe, and let the artwork guide you into the forgotten rooms of your mind where dust settles on old thoughts and the lighting is always dim.
It’s small. You’ll walk it faster than you expect, and your visit might feel brief. But hell, maybe that’s the point. Not every museum needs to overwhelm you. Sometimes the right space is the one that hands you a single, well-made key, and lets you open a door you haven’t dared touch in years.”
“Always great to catch a show here. Tonight I felt especially lucky to enjoy a private party here. Great atmosphere for a celebration indoors and outdoors (weather permitting).”

“Scott is a great teacher, and he creates a wonderful atmosphere for learning at any skill level! My partner and I had no prior experience with sculpture, and we both had a blast despite being complete newbies. Regardless of whether I continue with stone carving, I left the class with fun memories and a new appreciation for the art form.”
“Pleasant lighting and well organized space. Gallery owner and artist guests created a friendly opening event. Purchase process for available works was straight forward. New selections of ceramic art seem to be regularly organized and some smaller pieces of past collections are available. Location in Concord was easy to find.”

“This is a must-go if you are in the area. It is such a wonderful place filled with artwork from local artists. You can buy gifts for family, friends, or yourself. You can also just step in to find an inspiration for yourself.”
“Love this shop! They KNOW what they are doing & Roberta has an amazing eye when it comes to helping choose the proper frame. It’s very hard to find a frame shop that frames needlework properly & so even though I’ve moved to NC they will always have my business!”
“I had an amazing experience here. I got my first tattoo here and was very nervous coming in, but the shop is very comfortable and clean and all the artists are super nice. My artist, Deanna, did a great job designing my tattoo with the idea I wanted and she executed it amazingly! The store was very fast with responding to an after care question I had after leaving and they even helped me replace the bandage after an incident I had after getting the tattoo. Will definitely be going back here for my next one!”
