Experience so far had been good. Since the Back Bay station garage is opened 24/7. It would nice if customers could return car off hour

Poor experience! We’d booked an economy car as we were going to drive to Quebec, 100 miles north of Montreal. Once we got to the location, we were informed that the only option was an EV. In fact, the lady who worked at the counter on Friday evening was so rude to say, “take it or leave”. Not necessarily what you want to hear at 6pm on Friday when you’ve got 7hr drive ahead of you. We’d never driven an EV and she failed to provide any charging instructions. Instead, she told us to go to Logan airport to exchange it for a regular petrol car. We went there and they obviously said it wasn’t possible. Car ran out of battery in the middle of nowhere Vermont, leaving us to spend hours at a local charging station. There was obviously little to no infrastructure/charging stations in rural Quebec, which forced us to leave our hotel early enough to then spend hours in a random car dealership charging the car. Another stop in Vermont only to find out we’d be charged extra for returning the car 20% charged in Boston.Completely ruined our anniversary trip!Shocking experience! Been a long time Avis customer but this was just absolutely horrendous and we’ll be calling to request a refund.

Online services should smoothly integrate with in person services.Aren’t skip the counter services that you pay ahead for, supposedly for speeding up processes? And I Definitely needed to address damage not listed on the car before leaving!!!

Have rented here multiple times with no issues. Usually have clean cars in good condition with reasonable upgrades when the car type we requested isn't available. Not the best at answering the phone, but they're busy.

Requested an economy sized car because of all the driving I knew we would be doing. The car was approved, never received any messages that the car would not be available. Get to the location and all they have available are gas guzzling mini vans. Super disappointed. The lady who checked me out was monotone, didn't look at me, didn't care to be there. I get that you can't always have the cars in stock, but the location was like 15 min from the airport. They couldn't get one in? The reason why we didn't rent from the airport was because this location was a 5 min walking distance from our hotel.

Perhaps due to shortage of cars at time of pick up but we think our car was larger and better than booked but in anycase the hire car was brilliant for the occasion of touring New England for 2 weeks

Convenient location and customer-oriented staff, but on more than one occasion I've received a vehicle with issues - and have concluded that maintenance is non-existent.

Avis staff on Clarendon St garage in Boston were very friendly and helpful even on a Sunday morning. The Toyota Corolla was just what I wanted. My only problem was once I got on the road I noticed low tire pressure and it was a challenge to find a tire gauge and air pump . My additional surprise was 1 tire was extremely low and other tires had higher pressure than recommended.Overall I was pleased with the car and car return at Logan airport.

Updated, finally got someone to listen to me and they reversed the charges. Should never of happen in the first place. Just not letting them email the receipt to me anymore.Rented from Avis numerous times never had an issue. Prepaid for my vehicle only to receive my invoice after I returned my car to be charged an additional $231 dollars for service fee. Stay away from this location. Would not recommend it at all

Reserved a sub compact car - Toyota Corolla (or similar). When I got there, they handed me the keys to a Jeep. When I informed them that I wanted a small car, I was told they only had SUV's, mini vans, and Jeeps. It felt like I was in that freakin Seinfeld episode - I don't think they understand what it means to reserve a particular car.

Overall, it was a clean brand new car that we rented, which was awesome. However, it was not clear in the emails prior to renting where exactly to go at the parking lot when we arrived, nor was it clear that you do not need to pay for additional driver if the driver is a spouse.

Reception very efficient as changed our car straight away when original car was found to have a nail in the tyre and checking back in was easy and quick too

After taking the car today, I noticed that the check tire pressure light was on. So went back to garage and informed the lady over there that the tire pressure is low. She lied to me saying it was an error and if drive for a little while, the light would turn off. Believing her I started driving towards my office and at one point, my car drifted away from the lane because of very low pressure on right rear tire. I immediately rushed to the nearest gas station to check pressure and in fact the pressure was 22 psi when it should have been 35 psi. This lady whom I talked with is a notorious liar. Last time I requested her to give me a different car and she said they didn't have any other car available when in reality there were several cars available. This will be my last time using Avis ever again, it's time to start using enterprise.

The Avis locations in the Boston area continue to be miserably run. This probably is true at all Avis locations in the United States, but my specific experience has only been in the Boston area. The inventory system is a complete waste of time -- and unfortunately, that's YOUR time that will be wasted. The Avis locations don't know what cars they have. After making a reservation, you arrive to pick up your car, and they say they have no cars. If you are very lucky, you can walk around their lot and find an available car that they knew nothing about, and they will rent it to you. If you are not lucky, good luck getting to your final destination.
