A lot of interesting things but very difficult to actually look at or purchase anything as the owner gets distracted and confused easily (which is fair, she’s 101). I agree with the reviewer below that she says the books are donation but then sets a minimum price later

My daughter and I stumbled upon Bartevian while visiting Emerson College. Patricia went through her life story in great detail. She has clearly seen it all. We were happy to buy a book from her. The store is full of old-time nik naks. This place is worth a visit.

Walked into this shop while strolling around. The lady running the shop started talking about her life which enticed me, she wrote a book about her life and told me I could pay as much as I want. I wanted 4 and she ended up charging me 80$, said it was 20$ to print each book. Which is a complete scam. If she had told me earlier, I would have still happily bought a book from her. But that fact that she told me I could pay as I wish and charged me 20$ is such a scam. Please be careful when going in.

I visited this antique shop on July 31st this year and purchased the book "The Bartevians: A Boston family." I am delighted to have had the opportunity to read through the history of Pat's family, which eloquently narrates the remarkable story of the family and witnesses the hardships that America went through during the Great Depression and World War II. Thank you Pat for allowing me to share in your rich life experiences.

Very pushy sales lady, trying to get you to buy her book. Found a ring that we liked, was told it was handmade and real silver. This was not true as it turned the finger green.
