Beacon Hill Chocolates is a very cute and lovely little shop packed with a wide assortment of chocolates, candies, gifts, and knickknacks. There are many unique and very special items to browse, including handmade painted boxes, offering really cool gift ideas. The shop partners with confectionaries from around the country, providing an interesting selection. The chocolates are delicious, high quality, and quite nice, with incredible truffles where you can taste different layers of flavors. Specific highlights include amazing toffee, really good caramel chocolate, exquisite peanut butter truffles, and a glorified mint truffle. However, the chocolates can be hit or miss, with some pieces possibly being hard or not tasty, and they are a bit on the pricier side. Customer service experiences vary; the staff is often described as friendly, helpful, kind, patient, charming, and gorgeous with no pressure to buy, but at other times it can lack friendliness, feeling very transactional without a smile. Overall, it is a great spot to treat yourself to a unique dessert or find a special gift.
I always look at these chocolates with envy as they are very special and I am afraid of overeating them. I decided to try a $2 piece made with amaretto. You can taste the different layers of flavors, you can't really compare them to a $5 bar. It was quite nice.
