Doctor Chelsea was amazing , a very caring and wonderful veterinarian whom I would recommend to anyone looking for help with their pet! You are lucky to have her on your team! Thanks very much to Doctor Chelsea, she eased our concern over Bella's issues in a very kind and loving manner, having a home visit made things so much easier for us and Bella.

I love the staff, the treats for my pet, and how welcoming folks are! I dont currently have a regular vet but thanks to everyone who takes care of my fur babies! The cleanliness, separate area for cats to wait, the free treats for while the pets are there and how kind the techs are makes this vet awesome!

Thank you for such great communication and care. We love coming to the vet and I appreciate the staff's friendliness and helpfulness. Dr. Boggs and her technicians are wonderful! They are so kind and happy to work with Leo and are great at answering my many questions. I appreciate that they listen to our concerns and are able to explain the care plan well.

I've had a terrible experience with this clinic. They injured our cat and have been deceptive about their billing practices. This is a clinic where your money is more important than your pet's care. They hid charges for a routine wellness exam — telling me I had paid in advance for blood work that they weren't able to complete during the exam after missing the vein on my cat's leg, but assuring me that they could complete the blood draw in a free follow-up session. After unsuccessfully sticking my cat three times on the follow-up appointment — still failing to complete the blood draw — they told me, only after I pressed them, that there would be another $200 fee for the blood work separate from what they had already charged me for. This was not what they told me the first time and not what I agreed to. Moreover, they told me that in order to complete the blood work, they would have to sedate my cat, and quoted me an extra $400 for that. My cat came home after two unsuccessful blood draws more traumatized than if they hadn't proceeded with their so-called "fear free" procedures and with an open, bleeding wound on his foreleg that their tech inflicted. (Which is all to say nothing of the wellness exam for our other cat, which was perfunctory enough that they didn't even take her weight, yet still charged us full price for. Once again, their excuse was that we hadn't put her on enough drugs before bringing her in — and then quoted us a price for sedating her.) After having reached out multiple times to try to straighten this out, I have come away completely frustrated and it is unresolved.

Dr. Joey Kaston is by far the best vet we’ve had. She goes above and beyond for our baby Gus and he is always so excited to see her. There are some people who are meant to work with animals and Joey is one of them. Her care and compassion comes through in every interaction she has and we are so grateful for her.Recently we were away on vacation and our pup had kennel cough that turned into pneumonia. Dr. Joey was so responsive to our questions and made sure we had the right meds and schedule to give our sitter while we were away. We CANNOT thank her enough, and 100% recommend bringing your fur baby to her and her team at Boston veterinary clinic.

I was reassured by the entire staff’s care and competency. They explained details fully and if I later questioned anything, they quickly responded. The doctor was obviously caring and competent. He was friendly, spent more time than expected with the dog and me. I felt safe having my dog under their care and I could not ask for better service. The dog, by the way, is recovering very well.

Always pleased with the treatment we get at BVC from Dr. Joey and her assistant (who is always awesome!). My favorite part is the love they show for Griff and how much they spoil him when he's there. He never minds going because he doesn't realize he's at the Vets!!!

Was refused vaccinations and service by Dr Lindsay Gallagher due to the “anxiousness” of my dog. She and the assisting tech had simultaneously approached the dog from above, yanked on his harness and almost immediately denied service to him when he had backed away from her aggressive tactic of meeting the dog. Was told if I wanted him to be served vaccines by their company I would have to abide their “fear free” policy of drugging my dog pre appointment. This vet was off putting and seemingly uneducated about what is typical excited behavior for a French bulldog. I had a lovely experience here before with Dr Beth, who walked in the room and sat down and created a relationship with my dog before denying him based on behavioral issues. I have never been put off from a vet before but Lindsay was smug, rude and clearly not invested in making the dog comfortable before showing us the door. Must be an easier for Lindsay to work for doped up dogs than actually put effort into making them comfortable in her presence.

To say that my cat hates the vet is an understatement. She growls, hisses, hides, and has even "screamed" on occasion. So I was floored when I brought her to Dr. Chelsea and she (my cat) was exploring the room, socializing with the techs, and even eating snacks (!). They really have the no-fear thing down. Also, Dr. Chelsea is great. She is a thorough and thoughtful diagnostician and as a result my cat is feeling so much better. She's a senior kitty so she still has issues, but I can tell she is so much more comfortable now. Also, special shout out to Dr. Alex and team at the Charlestown location, where I took my cat recently for a sudden, semi-urgent issue and couldn't get in at Bay Village. They were kind, patient, knew what they were doing, and I felt like I was in really good hands. My cat's situation was a bit tricky--she's old and has a few issues--so I appreciated Dr. Alex contacting a fellow doctor to get a second opinion and decide on the best treatment.

The atmosphere in the clinic was so welcoming and inviting. Even when my dog was getting anxious the clinic staff worked well with me to get him into a room so that he could get calm before being examined. I will definitely keep going back to the clinic with my Dog.

Edit: the fear free practice is more about protecting the staff than the animals by making sure they’re too doped up to have any behavioral issues. If your little pup is anxious (not aggressive at all) they’re insistent on multiple dose of multiple sedatives before each appointment. I still think they are a good practice- and high quality vets. The staff just takes this policy too far.Great veterinary practice! I take my two dogs here one 2 the other 15. They take exceptional care of both my dogs and are very accessible to reach and accommodating. For full disclosure they are a no fear practice - so they’ll most likely request and recommend medication for your dog to prevent anxiety if they get nervous at the vet (at no extra-cost). Still don’t feel it’s entirely necessary in our case but doesn’t impact the quality of care. On the pricier side but that comes with any vet in downtown Boston

I moved to Boston for college, and my cat came with me. My cat is a shy little guy who struggles with anxiety. He's my everything, so I always want to make sure he's getting the best care and health support when he needs it. For anyone who wants to ensure the safest and most comfortable health experiences for their animals, I highly recommend Boston Veterinary Clinic. They prioritize the comfort of my cat always, letting him explore the exam room at each appointment, spraying Feliway on exam towels to calm him down, offering him treats to reinforce positive behaviors, etc. Their efforts to ensure the comfort of their patients is evident, even before you get to the office. If you book an appointment through the portal, they ask thorough questions about why your animal is coming in but also on how they react to the vet and stressful situations, so that they can prepare to make the best environment for your animal. The safety and comfort of your animals is their top priority, and they live up to that. I have never felt ignored at their practice either; as a young college student, I was worried when moving that finding a new vet would be difficult in terms of finding someone who would take me and my concerns seriously. The staff and team at BVC are so accommodating, friendly, and understanding. They always take my concerns seriously and are willing to adjust and adapt their care plans as needed. All of the doctors I've met here so far have been wonderful, and so have the vet techs and office staff. BVC is a safe, friendly environment for both you and your animals. Definitely recommend!
