My pup Titan loves his time at Brookside! Before he went through his training at Brookside he was so anxious on his walks. And his reactivity made it difficult for me to manage him on the leash. After his time with Dinyee, he is like a different dog on his walks. He is so much more confident. And I can finally enjoy talking him on walks. He adores his trainers Dinyee and Ruby! I would highly recommend Brookside for any pups but particularly for those that struggle with reactivity.

Brookside has been an absolute life saver for our reactive pup and an excellent resource for us as first time pet owners, we don't know where we'd be without them! After we rescued our beloved, but admittedly behaviorally-challenged pup, we realized that we had bitten off a little more than we could chew. With a past bite history, she had started to show clear signs of aggression towards other dogs and strangers with us, and after trying our luck with a few different trainers in the area, we were at our wits end. After being unsure of what to do next, we reached out to Brookside.Dinyee and Rubbie patiently worked with us and gave us a new lease on life as pet owners, helping us to understand what had to be done in order to turn things around. What we learned through the foundations program gave us the skills, confidence and knowledge as handlers that we needed, and for that we are very grateful. Brookside will be your last stop for all training needs!

We have been happy customers of Brookside walk and train for 9 years! Dinyee is a fantastic trainer and fundamentally understands dog behavior. She centers on communication and structure for our dogs; this has helped keep our dogs calm and less anxious. She has helped our family with approaches to use at home to build those skills. We starting with training for our rescue dog and now for our new puppy. With both dogs we learned so much and this continues to improve everyones quality of life! We also use Brookside Walk +Train for daycare and boarding. Both services keep our dogs environment consistent and are really convenient!

OMG when I tell you that Dinyee and her team changed out lives- I am telling the honest truth We brought our terrier rescue who is almost 10 years old to the 5-week foundations class and he is a new dog. He went from being on Prozac and very anxious to a quiet and calm dog. We are all working hard but the foundation has been set and we could not be happier. I would recommend this team to anyone with a puppy or an old guy like Brody.

Brookside took our dog from being afraid of everything to an almost perfectly trained and confident pup. We chose them for training because we knew he’d have continuous, structured exposure to other dogs; we loved the ongoing communal aspect of the business, with monthly training maintenance sessions, daycare, and boarding; and because most of the intensive trainings in the area required lengthy boarding, and we wanted to be with our dog in the evenings. Our dog was adopted from KY and afraid of other dogs, difficult to take on walks, and afraid and growling around some people. After the 8 week daytime training last summer, he had a great heel and wonderful recall that allows us to go on hikes off leash, but most importantly, he (and we!) learned structure that makes us confident that he knows that we are in control and that we can teach him anything. It’s a joy to have a dog that we can take anywhere and know that he will behave well.Do not expect frills from Brookside - you will not get daily updates (in fact, the human training happens after the dog training, which was hard for us but best in the long run!), there are no monitoring cameras or pics (although we are elated when he gets a cameo on the Instagram), and the owner will tell it to you how it is without sugar coating. What you do get is amazing training, a responsive staff, and a whole ecosystem of dog services (we even got a house call to help with desensitizing our dog to our cat). We love Brookside enough to drive from Southie to keep our dog in daycare once a week a year later. It’s a great place that has done wonders for us and our dog.

There is no easy way to put this: Our puppy died while under the supervision and care of Brookside Walk+Train. We had been using Brookside for daycare services (PPL) since December 2021. In February 2022, we were traveling out of town for the weekend and signed up for boarding services with Brookside for the first time for that weekend. We made our request several weeks ahead of time. We were assigned a boarder that our puppy had regularly interacted with while at daycare and was familiar with. When we dropped off our puppy to be boarded for that weekend, Brookside informed us at the last minute that the pre-assigned boarder was no longer available, and our puppy was re-assigned to a different boarder, who we believe was someone our puppy was not familiar with. The last minute nature of the change gave us little option but to go with the new boarder since our flight was very early the next morning. A few hours after we dropped off our puppy, we received a call from Brookside informing us that our puppy got loose while being transported, ran into the street, and died after being hit by a car. Needless to say, we were devastated. After this incident, we have been disappointed by how Brookside has handled the situation. For example, even after we followed up specifically to ask Brookside to refund us the money for services we had pre-paid for, it took them over 2 months to do so. As a result, we felt like we were being treated with lower priority.

We love Brookside! Our dog participated in 8-week foundations which quite literally changed our lives for the better with real observable progress and productive strategies for carryover. We also use Brookside for daycare and boarding - it's such a relief to have quality, reliable care for our pup!

Brookside is like star school district that we never want to leave because of how important it has become in our lives. We are learning so much about dog behavior and we are so thrilled about our dog's growing confidence. Having a large reactive dog can be scary and limiting: it isn't just who can handle her, but who can actually help her? The training, the structured daycare, the walking, the boarding and the group classes offer a complete ecosystem that we absolutely trust. Everyone at Brookside is so generous and encouraging in supporting our journey to have a more confident and happy dog.

I have not had a wonderful experience with this place but I see a lot of good reviews, so Maybe Dinyee has changed how she interacts with people. My with her experience was cold, distant, I got the impression that I was taking up her time even though I had a scheduled consultation. I used the dog home check-in/walking service and I came home from vacation to find p*** on the floor that had obviously been there for more than a day during the time the pet checkers were scheduled to be there. I have used the training service and found it unorganized and not worth the very high price I paid. I have gotten more good out of YouTube videos than I did that training class. I'm done giving this place chances to just meet basic expectations.

We chose to work with Dinyee when our lab Samson was a young pup. We can't say enough about what a great decision this was. Having had a rather rambunctious and hard to train pup in the past I didn't want that experience again. For safety sake, I needed to know that anyone could walk our dog and that our dog would come when called. This was my goal in training but the outcome was so much more than I could have hoped for. Our large and strong, 80-pound lab is a model of good behavior. He knows when it is playtime and he understands when it is business. He is a pleasure to be with and a happy and content doggo. It may sound silly but I take great pride in the many compliments he earns from folks on our walks. Training your dog is a serious commitment but the work you put in is so very worthwhile. Brookside Walk & Train is both skilled and professional, I highly recommend!

We came to Dinyee after going to 3 other trainers with no luck. Our adopted adult dog, Oliver, had extreme anxiety, was unable to control his flight instincts, and was afraid to be outside. It was nearly impossible to go on walks with him because he would always try to pull so hard to get home. Even going to the bathroom outside was a struggle, as he would always try to run back home. My husband and I were very overwhelmed and didn't know what to do.When we brought Oliver to Brookside, it was apparent that Dinyee knew how to handle him. Every day during pick-up, she would take the time to review how he did during the day, and give us advise on how to manage him at home. After the 8 weeks, we also had 3 private sessions with Dinyee where she taught us how to use the training tools correctly to ensure we are able to continue our training at home. While the 8-week program is expensive, it was definitely a worth-while investment for us. Oliver is not totally over his issues (we didn't expect he would be "fixed" after only 8 weeks given his severity), but it is clear that Dinyee has given him enough of a foundation so my husband and I can continue training him at home. We know we have a lot of hard work ahead of us, but we are grateful for the help Dinyee provided to get us on the right path. For those considering Brookside, know that success comes with a lot of hard work. You should be prepared to put in just as much or more work than your dog. Dinyee is a straight-shooter, and will not hesitate to call you out on your behaviors and actions that negatively affect your dogs behavior - but at the end of the day, its all for the benefit of you and your dog.

As a first time dog owner, I didn't know what I didn't know about dog behavior and being a good pack leader. Luckily, two friends recommended Brookside & Dinyee when I adopted my rescue. Dinyee invested time, effort and care both in my dog and me. She's always looking out for his best interest. She taught me how to create structure, work through his difficult separation anxiety issues and ultimately give him a happy life! Most importantly, I know that she is on our side. When I'm frustrated with myself, she reminds me how far we've come and helps me refocus. During COVID, they've adapt their offerings to meet clients' needs, with a heavy emphasis on keeping their staff and clients safe & healthy. Lastly, Rubbie is a fantastic handler and kind person. Whenever we need to board my dog, I am overjoyed that he is in Rubbie's expert and caring hands. My dog always comes home happy and so well behaved! I can't recommend Brookside enough and trust them 100%!
