Along with Ming's Market across the street, C-Mart is a vestige of a Chinatown of yore that gradually expanded into the South End before being encroached upon by new development. When I stopped by recently, it looked virtually the same inside as it was when I remember it from its opening many decades ago. You'll find large aisles of produce being steadily picked over by customers, refrigerated cases off to one side, shelves of packaged items in the middle, and large counters for meats and seafood along the other ends. It's all busy, frenetic, and nowhere near as polished as, say, a 99 Ranch or H-Mart, but for folks who live in the area, it's a vital resource. There's also just enough parking to make it convenient for commuters, as it sits right above the key junction of the Mass Pike and I-93.

My son brought many vegetables at great price. The reason for the stars is because what I wanted they try ripping him off on the price of products. He got what he wanted and I didn't get what I wanted, was disappointed can only give half a score.

I only wish they were closer to me. However, it is worth going the extra mile to go here.. More variety than I could ever mention. I highly recommend this store. It is truly unique. You will not be disappointed

This is the cheapest Asian mart in Boston. Lobsters were $6.99 a lb. It was so reasonable! Has a parking lot too.

I got there at 6:49 pm on a Saturday where they would close at 7. Not only was I not allowed in because apparently they stop allowing people to go on at 6:40, but I was YELLED at by the guy for even walking up to the door and unknowingly trying to get it. He yelled at me like I missed some universal house rules.

My favorite supermarket in Boston! Sadly, C-Mart probably won’t survive the bouts of gentrification currently taking place in the South End, but I will support them for as long as I can! they also have a great selection of other Southeast and East Asian foods in addition to their excellent selection of fresh seafood.

I saw a rat the size of Lizzo just walking around. The air almost smelled chemically and the general vibe is depressing.

This store is great for produce, condiments, and beautiful jars of tea. Everything else is kind of lacking. It has a parking lot which is a +++

It was great, although I saw frogs and fish jumping from one isle to another, it was still great, customer service was also great too. Very clean and everything.

Definitely a market that takes getting used to but it has a lot of specific Chinese food products that you might need for your recipe. It can get crowded, which when mixed with the narrow aisles, can be a harrowing experience. Big tea selection including a lot of Asian herbs/traditional Chinese medicines. Cheaper than HMart in Cambridge/Burlington.

Great place to get Asian food and condiments especially sauces and spices. They have quite a large range of them. There are fresh foods, frozen foods, dried goods, and there’s a butchery. Don’t expect to find all kinds/brands of Asian food here. I tried to find a ‘common’ brand of luncheon meat but it’s not common in the US. Tried to find sambal balachan and laksa paste - either I didn’t search well enough or they don’t sell them.
