This is the MOST awful place to rent a car in Boston. The little lady and James need to be sent home to pound sand. Avoid at all costs!!!

Do not rent here! Husband went to pick up prepaid vehicle and there was no vehicle available. We were then charged an additional $52. He waited for a vehicle and they finally found him one, but it smelled terrible, only had 1/8 of a tank of gas, and there was no one to report this issue to. I called this branch to discuss these issues and was told I’d have to call customer service. Customer service said I would have to call back 48 hours after we had turned in the rental. I will never rent from Budget again.

Prepaid months in advance of my reservation date for the rental of an Expedition or equivalent. When we arrived to pick it up we were old there was no car of that size available. We were handed a minivan.
What's the point of a reservation and paying in full for a large car when the rental agency does not ensure it is there for you.
Completely unreliable! Horrible service!
I then had to waste more time on the phone with customer service in order to get a refund on the price difference for the cheaper minivan.
I will not be using this company again.

I ordered a car with 7 seats and space for 4 bags. They gave me one with 6 seats and space for 2 bags. They eventually refunded me the fare difference, but then they charged me a cleaning fee arbitrarily. When I asked them for the vehicle report associated with the charge, the vehicle had over 1000 more miles on it than when I turned in my rental, which I could prove because I had a photo of the odometer upon drop-off. I spent 45 minutes on the phone with them and eventually got the $250 charge refunded, but they refused to give me any credit towards future rentals despite improperly fining me and wasting so much of my time. It was a completely unprofessional experience, and I wouldn't recommend coming here unless you're willing to deal with the hassle of potentially disputing downgrades and fees.

I reserved a vehicle two weeks in advance. The morning of my arrival, the attendant was clearly in a very bad mood and was completely unapologetic about the Sunday morning rush. I wanted to add a driver & possibly get a bigger car. He started throwing his hands in the air, dismissed my requests, forcefully handed me the key and paperwork to a vehicle that had just been turned in. When we got in the car you could tell they did a 10 min cleaning and they tried to usher us out. I immediately noticed that the car had ZERO charge. My paperwork said “Full”. As we know, it takes hoourrrs to charge. I waited an hour to give it some juice, I requested another car. The garage attendant called upstairs to the completely unhelpful guy, he wouldn’t budge and began yelling at the attendant. We kept expressing that I couldn’t leave. Nope no care. I called the 1800 number because I couldn’t get anywhere without pulling over to charge for a short time to try to get me closer to my destination. No help there either! I deserve a one day rental credit or a credit towards a future rental. My son missed out on his dorm move in day!
Budget in the Seaport area needs to remove the slender Latino guy quick. He’s extremely hostile to customers & staff. No bueno amigo.

Got to location as it was opening. Brittany has to be the worst rental car rep I have ever encountered. She wasn’t ready for us when we got there and we were just told to sit down and wait. While waiting, she carried on a conversation with an co-worker about how many turn ins from the night before there were. After a few minutes, she just blurted out drivers license and credit card. As she was entering information she asked what kind of insurance protection we had. When I said we have full coverage, she replied nastily that’s not what she asked, and again said what protection we had. When I said do you mean what insurance company do we have, she said, that’s what she asked. I told her she did not! When asked about returning the car, rather than go over where and how to return, she pointed to a sign on the wall and told me to take a,picture of it. She was rude, nasty and disrespectful. She spoke fast and unclearly and was disturbed when asked to repeat what she said. Would not recommend this location to anyone!

Renting a car was a necessity or I would not have, (Even Bostonians know better than to drive in town). Anyway, the car was only 2/3rds full of gas. I drove under 100 miles but ended up filling it up with a 5 gallon purchase. I told the attendant it wasn't full when I drove out, and that I filled it before returning. She didn't care - implying it was my problem. She said I only needed to return it at the same level when I took it, so thanks for the full tank. (Stay away from Budget at the Seafort Hotel.)

This happened in 21. As we were returning the car we had a flat. We waited for the tow truck as it broke down in front of a federal building and when the truck showed up an hour and a half later we handed over the keys to the driver and took an Uber to the airport. Much to my surprise my VISA was billed $600 more for the days it wasn't on their lot. Visa wouldn't help me, and Budget just ran me around in circles until I gave up. 3 years later and I still lose sleep over this.

I was prepared to pay the $15.99 as I did not put gas in and drove less that 75 miles, 35 to be exact. They marked completely wrong mileage stating that I drove 131 miles and charged me $36.99. I have photos and contacted support - we'll see.

Can't confirm the bad reviews. Helpful and friendly staff, I was out the door with the keys in less than 5 Minutes. The cars interior was "clean enough" for the price.

Been to this location a few times and the last two times were the best. DJ and Brittany went above and beyond on 2 different occasions. Highly recommend this location because of these amazing staff. Walked in and line was long but Brittany was able to attend to everyone quickly and efficiently. Don’t usually do reviews but I definitely had to due to wonderful service provided.

Didn't even rent from this location. Called by accident thinking I was calling the harbor location nearby. The lady had an attitude from the start. Never even bothered to ask my name or reservation just total attitude about not having a night drop. And made it very clear she would not be there one minute after 6:00 if I was going to try and make it. Glad the other Budget places I frequently use aren't like this.

BUYER BEWARE! Do not rent from this location if possible. Take a photo of the odometer and the FUEL GAGE BEFORE you leave the garage. Our paperwork said the tank was full, but it was only at 3/4. It's a pain to go back upstairs to the office but they will try to cheat you out of about $70 for the difference in gas if you don't go back in and get the paperwork corrected. Aside from that, our car was not cleaned between customers- It was filthy, both inside and out. Opened Gatorade bottle under the seat, phone charger left behind by customer, spilled drink in the cup holder. Mud and dirt all over the outside. Corporate needs to come in and review who they are hiring to fill fuel tanks and clean the cars. This location and its dishonest employee(s) is costing Budget loyal customers. I will be informing them and Costco Travel of this issue, even though it probably won't change anything.
