This experience was very disappointing. My husband placed a pickup order through Grubhub. When he went inside the restaurant to get our food, the woman inside refused to give him our order. For several minutes she forced him to show proof of the order. When he finally got upset and stated he was not an errand boy, it was his order, another employee shook his hand and she relinquished. My husband is a black man who was wearing jeans and a black hooded sweatshirt. We order pickup through Grubhub a lot as we don't dine-in due to my husband's health issues. This woman made a judgment upon sight and tried to refuse someone a meal they paid for. As good as the food is, as we have eaten Carlos' meals throughout the years, this leaves a horrible taste in our mouths and a horrible feeling in our hearts. I have already reported the incident to Grubhub.

Huge portions, you must get the house prepared fettucine if you are offered a pasta option. The staff was very friendly and being our first time helped us pick out great options for dinner (she told us about the fettucine). We were sat quickly. Only unfortunate thing is the door bringing so much outside cold air in to the small restaurant, they do try hard to cut down on the cold air by keeping a curtain pulled to try to block it as best they can. Can't wait to go back.

I feel like I just got robbed. Went in for lunch and ordered the Caesar salad (listed at $11) and a chicken parm (listed at $13). Caesar dressing tasted bland and store-bought despite their claim that it's house-made; $11 is pretty steep for iceberg lettuce and Kraft dressing but hey, everything is expensive these days. Chicken parm was pretty tasty but paper thin, completely reasonable for $13. I got my leftovers boxed up and after waiting a good 15 minutes to get the check, they charged me $14 for the salad and $21 for the chicken parm. They told me they don't do lunch on Sundays, though this is not mentioned on their online menu or on the menu at the door, and they never gave me a menu at the table. $45 after tip for maybe $20 worth of food. A big disappointment from a place I know has been a staple in the area for quite some time. Won't be back.

I just came back from Valentine's day dinner and I was very pleased with my expeirence. The portions were large and the staff was wonderful. The resturant is a bit small, and was especialy crowded for the holiday, but I think this is a great spot!

Carlo's cusina has NEVER disappointed our family. We have been coming here for about two years and each experience is better than the next. The staff are great, the atmosphere is amazing and the food, well such is the BEST part.Kid-friendliness: Our 4 year old loves this place. She recognizes Carlo's by calling it the olive place. She loves olives and the staff always cater to give her extra.

Do NOT leave Boston before visiting Carlo's! It's like walking onto the movie set from a Godfather flick. The food is priced reasonably. I lunched for $15 and they put enough food on the table to feed a small family. This is a very very old and respected Italian restaurant. The owners must be wealthy beyond imagining and run the joint as a Labor of Love. The murals are gorgeous, and depict what looks like Villa Rosa Sicily, wherefrom my grandparents hail. There is a thorough wine selection. I had the Eggplant Panini and it was perfect. The cappuccino was perfect. The lunch rolls and butter were perfect. EVERYTHING was perfect. Great place to take your date, or wife for your anniversary, or folks when they visit from afar. Me, I was simply hungry and stumbled on to it. Hahahaha!
