Fantastic artisan sandwiches. The roast beef (deli style, not North Shore, nor Chicago) was incredible. The balance of flavors with the truffle, rosemary, and horseradish was a perfect combination. These were clearly high quality and carefully curated ingredients. The fact that it came with potato salad was a pleasant surprise bonus.Additionally, they sell a select amount of craft beer, local cheeses, and high-end wines too. Perfect to spend more money while you wait for your amazing sandwich to be prepared haha. The staff was also very inviting.

First visit for take out. Ordered #24 Pastrami. Sensational. My co-worker ordered #4 turkey. Tremendous. I will definitely be ordering from this place again. The woman that waited on me couldn't have been nicer. It's a small hole in the wall place but it is a gourmet shop. Absolutely phenomenal.

Five stars for this small business. Located conveniently in the Beacon Hill MGH neighborhood, Crane River Cheese Club serves up delicious sandwiches. There's a small sandwich menu written on chalk as you walk in. The person at the counter makes it fresh and serves the sandwiches with a side of potato salad or broccoli. They also have a small selection of wine, cheeses, desserts, and other small snacks. I ordered the #1 which was packed with Italian cold cuts and cheese. Very flavorful perhaps a little salty but that's kinda how these meats are. The potato salad also amazing. The service was fast. The environment was cozy! Try them out!

I live right around here and have visited this place a few times for their sandwiches. It's a small cute place with some outdoor seating. They sell some cheeses, deli meat, and wine as well as some sandwiches made to order. I have gotten the fried chicken sandwich which is pretty decent for the price (I do wish the fried chicken was perhaps a bit crispier). The sandwiches cost about $14 and also come with your choice of side. I recommend this place if you are hoping to grab some sandwiches on the run of decent quality. The esplanade is nearby if you're hoping for a view while eating!

On a rainy day I dropped in to order a to go sandwich at Crane River Cheese Club, chef Brian Poe's latest venture (he owns Tip Tap Room next door and is a partner at Back Bay's Parish Cafe). I ordered the Sage and Peppercorn marinated turkey sandwich with a side of potato salad. Pros: Very good grilled Turkey, on grilled ciabatta with avocado aioli and burrata cheese. Cons: --Red baby potato salad was drenched in lemon zest, you couldn't take more than a couple of bites before tossing it because it was like eating shaved lemon peel. --For a self proclaimed "cheese club" there's barely any cheese on the menu, I was looking forward to an interesting cheese sandwich with like 3 different cheeses and veggies on baguette or something similar but the only sandwich options are turkey, fried chicken, prosciutto, pastrami, salami, ham, sausage burger, roast beef. More of a game club than a cheese club. (To be fair there is a small cooler with a few gourmet cheeses for sale). --No indoor seating even though the space could accommodate a small espresso table with a couple of chairs. Relevant on this rainy day.

Moving from the San Francisco Bay Area, I had yet to find a seriously good artisanal sandwich shop in Boston that elevated their sandwiches through top tier gourmet ingredients. Most every sandwich shop in the city is just one sub after another. Not Crane River. Their sandwiches are next level. From truffle-infused roast beef to lavender & fennel pollen infused goat cheese between delicious toasted sourdough, their sandwiches knock my socks off every time. And contrary to what you might think, their sandwiches are cheaper than half the Italian sandwich shops in the North End.Highly, highly recommend.

I've eaten here a few times now... honestly one of the best sandwich experiences I've had. This place is worth driving at least an hour to come visit. The intricacy and complexity of the sandwiches, mixed with the obvious sense of how fresh and clean each ingredient is... This place is so under-rated. My guess is in no time, this place will have a 30 min wait out the door. Get there and try it before then!

We got the number 1. It was fine, that's it. The broccoli slaw was old and gross. The picture was the entire portion and not touched. I tasted it, spit it out and prayed I would'nt get sick. The store was underwhelming and I have no need to go back.

Sandwich 1 is reallllly good. All sandwiches come with a side and I got bacon potato salad. It's not massive but it is a good lunch. The sauce and the olive tapenade together are so delicious.
