I reached out to this CVS pharmacy as we were preparing to send my daughter on a study abroad program. Just an hour before arriving, I was able to confirm with the pharmacist that they had enough of the medication to fill the prescription (several months supply). I had gotten clearance from our insurance company and the prescription written by her allergist was transferred over from another CVS location. When I got to the register to pay, I found that the generic was filled as opposed to the brand name. I was concerned since the paperwork we had prepared for customs did not have the generic name listed. The pharmacist told me that the doctor requested the generic. I knew this was not true. She said that she could not sell me the brand name unless the doctor and insurance authorized it and that I need to call them to get an updated prescription. I ended up leaving the medication and my daughter traveled without her supply of medication. When I called my insurance company to sort it out, they confirmed what I already knew…the pharmacy worker was not telling the truth. It was a cruel thing to do, especially given the circumstances. I have no idea how I will get the right medication to my daughter since this brand is not available in the country where she is studying.

I recently switched all my medications over to CVS, given CVS is much more prevalent on the East Coast compared to Walgreens. Also, my drug plan made CVS a preferred pharmacy, so it was worth the cost savings. The pharmacy here is located inside of Boston Children’s. It’s located on the second floor near the gift shop. The location is NOT a full-service CBS. It is mainly a full-service pharmacy with a small selection of common OTC products. They are open later than most locations, given the demand and the fact that there is an ER right downstairs. My only complaint is I wish it was 24-hours. The ER ALWAYS discharges you in the middle of the night with no way to fill medicine. I’d love to see them go 24-hours or install a self-service kiosk that stocks common medicines. It would be helpful beyond belief! The pharmacists here are all highly skilled, professional, and dedicated to their job. They know the stakes are a bit higher given it is serving a Children’s Hospital. They know the needs of their clientele are more unique than your typical pharmacy.I’ve had physicians special order medication’s by brand. Most pharmacies make it difficult. Here, they’re happy to order in whatever is needed if they can source it. They had my special order medicine in stock the next morning. The pharmacists truly know their stuff and will bend over backwards for their patients. I had to have an emergency surgical procedure in the emergency room late at night. My doctor ordered pain medicine. They were out of the desired medication. The pharmacy team took the time to work with my doctor to find a suitable alternative so I would not be stuck in pain. They truly take the time to ensure you are taken care of. I have yet to visit any other pharmacy that runs so smoothly and with such a high level of care for their patients.

The service at this CVS pharmacy is terrible and nobody (particularly management)takes responsibility!! The prescriptions are never on time as promised for pick up. The staff doesn’t realize it costs us $10 for parking at BCH every time we have to pick up if prescriptions. This adds up pretty fast and it’s unnecessary. Also today the lady at the pharmacy said the delay was caused due to my daughters dosage increase. Total bull they have me the same dosage I had picked up prior month ?♀️ . CVS should do better when hiring competent staff and managers

Went here to purchase cough medication. They are sort of slow when it comes to going over to the self check-out to check for age. Had to spend like 5 extra minutes here because they are either understaffed or don't pay attention.

My name is Suart and i work in the Longwood Medical Area . Went there just now and wanted to send some money to my brother and I had a copy of my license on my phone since i forgot my wallet in my office and also i had my work badge with me which has a photo and my name and last name as well. The manager was being very rude in a way saying that he cant and he would not make the transfer without me showing him the id which i had it on my phone. I just don't understand why they treat customers differently. Is not my first time sending money from this location and many other times no-one asked me for id . You guys just lost a customer and damn sure many more since i will spread the word around people i manage and friends about this. So frustrating since i was even in pain from my eye

They have a pharmacy tech named John Hartman who has been posting racist slurs on Facebook. If you are a person of color or a person with morals, take your business elsewhere.

Did not find the pharmacy to be accomodating. Understanding that they are busy, but would not recommend if you need a medicine within 1-2 hours.

I ran around for 20 minutes outside trying to find this location before realizing it's on the second floor ("floor 1") of Boston children's. You need a visitor badge to get in after hours. They have common over the counter meds and some disposable toiletries which is what I needed. Otherwise it looks like the pic below.

It's a tiny pharmacy located inside the Boston Children's Hospital. If you just need to fill a script, it's a good option, but note that it's not a convenience store (no snacks or drinks for purchase). Thank goodness for Yelp, otherwise I never would have known this CVS existed. Here's the way I got to it: -Enter the hospital, under the big sign that says "ENTRANCE," and go through the rotating glass doors. -Make an immediate left to the elevators. There is probably a security guard. The elevators are past the guard. -Take one of the blue elevators up a level to the first floor. -Follow signs to "Pharmacy." The CVS is located in a room through sliding glass doors. The only identifier will be the hours of operation sign posted on an interior wall that has "CVS" at the top.
