Saved my life after Boston streets claimed part of my heel on the way to an important meeting. I was in and out in minutes and David was so kind.

This man have golden hands. I washed my boyfriend’s shoes in washing machine, and they fell apart, I was so upset. Then I found David’s shoe repair shop, and he made the impossible possible. He was able to put the shoes together, and they are as good as new now!! He made our day! We are so grateful! So happy!

I brought in two pairs of shoes, and the ones he fixed came out great! There was a stain on the fabric outer, which required buffing and dying, and he nailed the color matching. The other pair he actually recommended I not pay him to fix because the soles were cheap rubber, and he said it would be less expensive for me to get new shoes than pay him $200 to reconstruct these. He could’ve just taken the money instead of giving me free advice. An honest guy, who does good work! I’ll be back.

Wow! I could not recommend this place enough! I've been to a few cobblers in the city but from now on I will only come here. The owner Ed is the best and so sweet. Quick service and well-priced! Highly recommend if you are in Boston!

I could not recommend this place enough! Ed is an amazing cobbler who is the best in New England at his craft. I would trust him with any vintage bag!

I have been going here for years. The gentleman is a professional, well run, expert cobbler. He will take whatever problem you have with your shoes and fix them quickly, perfectly and for a reasonable price.

I brought in two destroyed Chanel shoes and one pair of Loubs and they are as good as new now. I cannot say enough good things! The total was $165 for all three, extremely reasonable. I will be going here in the future.

I’ve been going to this place for years. It’s simply the best. You’re in good hands here, especially with high end products that require special care.

I have never written a review like this before and I won't pretend there are no spiteful feelings on my part, that would be a lie. However having gone through what I just did though and knowing the generally good reputation this business has, I feel like I owe it to others to at least try to get the word out everywhere I can and hopefully stop someone from making the same mistake. I had gone to Dave's once before and despite some customer service issues(they somehow lost track of the shoes for a few days) I was impressed with the repair job so I wanted to give them my business again. I took in the shoes my husband bought specially for our wedding to address a few scrapes from a fall he took during the reception. When I picked them up yesterday, they looked different in a way I couldn't place right away but the scratches were better and I had to get back within my lunch hour so I paid and left. It didn't process until I saw them out of the bag at home that they had totally polished over the unique burnished finish and made them a uniform dark brown, completely removing a large part of their charm(see the photos of the brown shoes I'm uploading for reference). My husband and I were devastated. We're not rich, nice shoes like these were an investment piece for him and held sentimental value for both of us. It could be they saw this as necessary to cover the scratches, I can't be sure. What I do know is that I was never asked or even told about it. Even all that by itself might not have been enough to get inspire me to write this review though, that is owed completely to how they handled it. I called them to complain. I won't lie, I was still upset and it probably showed in my voice. I made a very active effort to keep my words civil though and explained the issue plainly. I wasn't interested in anything except an acknowledgement and potential advice to fix this. Once I finished explaining, they hung up on me. I called back, ready to give them the benefit of the doubt that it was an accident (even if I doubted it personally). They picked up and immediately hung up again. Disgraceful. Entirely Disgraceful. To the owners: I took the shoes and paid you, I acknowledge that and realize I don't have the power to do much here. However, as someone who works just around the corner, I am going to do my damnedest to caution anyone I can away from you. That probably won't do a hell of a lot, but I like to think you won't get off entirely scot-free for treating me like garbage. If it also helps someone else stay away from my mistake, even better.
