Relaxed, modern, and inviting environment right down the street from Boston Commons. Delicious beer and tasty food. This time my wife and I had some Birria Tacos that were very good. My wife also got a flight of their beers and all of them were delicious! Definitely recommend.I had the Seeing Red and loved it. Very mild flavor that isn’t too overwhelming. Will definitely be returning!Vegetarian options: Plenty of salads and other vegetarian optionsDietary restrictions: Gluten free and vegan options availableParking: It’s downtown Boston. Go for: Surprisingly incredible food, beautiful renovation of an old space, and respectable beers. An underrated spot in Boston.Avoid if: You want to eat or drink past 9pm.Something surprising: Go on Friday nights to check out the piano bar sing-alongs; it's fun.Reservation needed? Sometimes at peak meal hours, but rarely needed.Overall . Probably the best overall brewpub in downtown Boston.Value for Price: 3Sanitation: 4Food Quality: 4Menu Precision: 3Service Quality: 3Timing: 4Decor: 4Access: 4—5 among the best4 strong3 not too bad2 mediocre1 never again

A gem in downtown Boston. Great food, a wide variety of in house beers and the perfect spot to escape the cold for a cozy atmosphere. The comedy shows are also a blast in the price room!

Beer is great but management stiffles what could be a better time. Apparently be mindful of your noise levels and stay at your seat while at a bar because they need their staff to be complacent. Make it make sense yall? I still am trying to understand what happened last night. Its the part of Boston that always leaves a bad tast in my mouth.

9:45 on a Thursday.. the place is mostly packed. My wife and I are coming in for ONE beer and a sticker because we travel all over the country checking out breweries, it’s our thing. The hostess says “sorry, we already called last call.” We’d have been in and out before anyone would have noticed. We were excited for Democracy Brewing, my wife walked away disappointed, I (after working in the restaurant industry for 22 years) walked away angry because I knew how easy it would have been to accommodate us for a beer. Bad form, Peter.Edit: In regard to your reply. I worked for a brewery for many years. I have a feeling that the closing staff would still be pulling a few beers off of those taps. Besides cleaning the beer taps is an easy process, wipe with sani and run hot water (maybe bleach) down the drain, put taps plugs in. A clean beertender can pull a pint after cleaning with only a few drops missed, max (and, again, easily cleaned). This was our only opportunity to make it to this brewery as we live out west. I have been to nearly 500 breweries across the States (and a few overseas) and I have never found a brewery full of people that wouldn’t serve me ONE SINGLE BEER (and sell me two stickers for my beer fridge and a back up for later when I open a sweet bar). Democracy failed today.

Came into Democracy Brewing after another day in Boston and this time we were exploring downtown and after a long day of walking beers were very much needed. We were quickly seated and after looking over the menu I knew what beer I was going with, the Fighting 54th. I believe this beer was a wheat and it was so good. For sure one of the best wheaters I have had. I of course had to have another too. For my entrée I went with the Short Rib Sandwich. I mean how could I not get it with my love for Short Rib and it comes with a side of Au Jus so it's basically a Short Rib French Dip. That's 2 of my favorite foods in one. I of course also went with Fries for my side. Within about 10 minutes our food came out. I will say my sandwich was good but it could have been better. One half of the roll had basically become mush so it became a folk and knife sandwich pretty quickly. I will say their was plenty of Short Rib on it plus it ever very tender and the flavors were there. The fries were also very good. Clearly hand cut fries and they were fried perfectly so they had great crisp. Democracy Brewing is for sure a place to come into for a few beers and some food.

This cavernous brewery looks tiny from the outside, but upon entering you realize it's deceptively large.with exposed brick, gothic arches, and barrel decorations, the vibe is wine cellar chic. Whether you want to sit down for a meal or have some brews at the bar, there is something here for everyone. The beer was all pretty good from what I tried. I probably most enjoyed the stout. Smooth with great complex flavor with almost no bitterness. The food here mostly seems very good from what I saw. I did try the bao buns which were super fresh and tasty with crisp chicken and soft cloud-like buns. It tasted super fresh but I wasn't the biggest fan. I found them to be overly sweet (they do call it sweet chili bao buns on the menu, so I guess that's on me) and something acidic would have gone a long way to breaking up the sugary sweetness. Also, two of the four buns had only a tiny nugget of chicken, leaving me with crunchless soft sticky sweet buns. The microgreens scattered over it added some great flavor boost.I had a great time hanging out here and if you are walking around downtown or across the street in the park, I highly recommend popping in here for a bite and a brew.

I go here on my lunch break sometimes. I am from the midwest and we take our ranch VERY seriously- this place has some of the best ranch I have EVER tasted in my life. I have never had a bad menu item from here either. From their specials to their burgers- everything is delicious. The staff are incredibly nice and attentive and the food is amazing!
