Do not use! I should've read the yelp reviews, but I never thought in America a business would be third world before. Man was I wrong. Go elsewhere. You're literally waiting in a huge line because "they have no cars".

got invoiced $20 convenience fee on the $4.95 toll charge. what an absolute scam! avoid this company at all cost. get a different car rental, even if initially more expensive, because you will end up paying WAY more for dollar car rental in the end because of all the extra charges and fees. it’s a scam company

I would give the office staff 4/5 stars although they never walked me around the car and I later found a large dent. The reason for the 1 star is their outrageous toll policy with PlatePass. I purposely avoided tolls during my three week rental but went through one $1.75 toll on the mass turnpike. I just got the bill for it...$6.10 for the toll and a $19.98 "convenience" fee. Should be illegal. Also, they don't warn you ahead of time that if you slide the plate on the transponder, it activates unlimited tolls for $15/day plus the cost of the tolls. I'm going to reach out to the Mass AG's office to file a complaint. Talk about junk fees.

30-minute wait to get our rental confirmed by the attendant, and then a 2 hour wait to actually get our car. We are just one of about 50 customers in the same situation right now.

Arrived in Boston Thu night. Counter closed, sign directed us to Thrifty desk. At least 50 people already in line, not moving, appears to be only 1 agent. Never again.

This company is terrible. They have one agent handling two rental car companies. The other companies have more attendants and less lines. Next time I am going to spend a little more to go with a company that gives a crap.

I don't usually make bad reviews but out of the safety of drivers I feel like I have to. DO NOT RENT from this office! They put me in a car with bald tires where I ended up with a flat and was stranded for 1.5 hours on the highway. Then when the tow truck finally came, I ended up having to pay. Dollar says they are not liable for the tow charge. Everything about this experience was bad, from the grumpy works, to the phone charger being broken, to the bald tires.

Absolutely terrible customer service. Paid for reservation, arrived in Boston and my car was not available. Had to pay double the cost with another rental company. I repeat absolutely terrible customer service. Maybe you will treat your mothers better. I suggest you pick other options. I will definitely stay away from this bottom feeder of a company. Refund my funds as soon as possible.

Waited over THREE hours in line at Orlando airport to get our rental. Two people working that day - there were legit 200 people in line ahead of me. When we finally got through the line the employee said they were giving me a "free upgrade" and tried to give me a pick up truck or a mini van - I reserved a small SUV! I said no and they finally found me an SUV (the last one in the parking garage) - then when trying to leave the airport they were having problems scanning it and that took an extra 20 minutes. So after 3.5 hour we finally left the airport. NEVER AGAIN!!

Try Avis before Dollar, similar price, faster to get the car, and easy to find pick up and return spots.

Dollar had no one manning the counter at 3:00pm on a Saturday. They sent everyone to the Thrifty counter- where there were only two people at the counter. We counted 108 people in line ahead of us. It took over three hours to get through the line. They did nothing to try to mitigate the situation. When we mentioned the situation, they made a comment that we had booked through third party so there was nothing they could do. It's too ridiculous to even discuss further.

I wish I could give a 0. I rented a car with Dollar Car Rental on Columbus Ave at the end of July. The rental agent asked me if I wanted to spend 15/day for our two week rental for our Honeymoon to buy the toll pass. I told him that we were only going through tolls on two days of our 14 day Honeymoon. To make a long story short, we had 4 tolls (which there are no options to pay in MA or NY except EZPass) of $1.24 to $1.76 each BUT DOLLAR CHARGED A $9.99 fee for each to process the toll (For those who love math this is a 805% MARKUP FEE. This is a scam to make extra money for Dollar and I WOULD NEVER recommend using them and I will not use them or their parent company HERTZ ever again. To add insult to injury, on day 3 we got a flat tire on the road and when we called their roadside assistance they told us that we had not paid for roadside assistance but if I could drive the car back to Boston with a flat from Gloucester, they could help us. Obviously could not do that. The phone operators had no sympathy and just said to call your own insurance and see if they could help.I did write to Governor Baker to look into this business practice.
