Charged me $48 for being 14 minutes over return time because of the awful traffic going to logan. They will bleed you on.the back end, take.note.
Update, I emailed that link... nothing! No reply, no acknowledgement, NOTHING.
UPDATE: a representative from Dollar actually contacted me and they have refunded the charges. Fair play to them, was unexpected but welcome, it seems they are making an effort to put things right.

Dollar brunch manager should get fired. Be aware! Look up all the reviews before you book a car. Expecting super long line. Unbelievably terrible service.
I booked a gas compact car but they try to push me in EV. Which isn’t what I make a reservation for. They are pushing and upselling the car. I ended up pay an extra for what I need. This is totally a scam. And it is a part of Dollar scammer scheme operate here at Boston car rental facility. No agents give me their name. The staff and their lot even mentions people do bad things with their name. Do you think how bad is the operation here?

My friends and I rented a car to travel to New York for a film festival, but things went downhill fast. We weren’t aware that a credit card was required on file, and none of the other payment options worked out. Even after speaking with the supervisor, no one did anything to help resolve it.
What made it worse is that the rental was nonrefundable, which cost my friend a lot of money and forced her to miss the trip. The rest of us had to book a last-minute bus ride just to make it.
Honestly, this whole experience was frustrating and disappointing. If a credit card is required, that should’ve been clearly mentioned upfront. My friend deserves a full refund. Never again.

Scam. Total upselling scam. “Manager special” was offered as an electric car, with a “100km range and unfortunately not many charging places along our planned route” despite NO mention of electric being offered on the Expedia booking. Knowing we wouldn’t be able to take an electric car with a 100km range, we had to pay over $100 to “upgrade” to gas/petrol! Since when was a gas car an upgrade?!? Then coerced into paying extra for excess insurance when the Expedia booking already comes with $0 excess… plus the stupid toll pass (another $80…. ) The whole cost came to more than the initial Expedia booking! Total scam, rude and pushy sales tactics and a poor first impression/welcome to America.

I hope corporate sees this review. Workers were very polite and working hard but THIS PLACE IS WAY UNDER STAFFED. There is no reason that a customer should wait in line for AN HOUR to pick up a reservation. And then wait another 30-45 minutes for the car to be available.

Had an exceptionally positive experience renting from here. My flight was late and I didn't reach the rental place until 130am, when they're supposed to close. The man in the booth in the parking lot was super kind and stayed late for myself and 2 other people from my flight, and was friendly and courteous. Car was great and had no issues with returning it.

Negative raring should be an option!
Giving 1 star since I can't give a 0. Even 0 stars would not justify the horrible service this company is providing to endless customers. Even after booking 3 weeks in advance, after reaching the Boston Airport at an active time of 9 AM, I had to wait more than 2 hours to first get someone to attend me. There were at least 50 people waiting in the line, and just one person attending.
After getting the documentation completed, went to the car garage to pick up the car. I believe Dollar thought 2 hours was not enough waiting, so they asked us to wait for another 30 minutes to get the car. This is just me writing, but there were surely 50 more like me who went through the same pain.
Anyone traveling to Boston, I highly recommend booking through some other car company. They ain't savings Dollars for you! At least get peace of mind by choosing a better service

Worst car rental experience ever. Had to stay in line for 3 hours to get the car. 50 people in line and 1associate. Pay little extra and go to different car company.

Over an hour long wait, while others breezed through the nearby rental services with functional online check in systems. Line moving slower than 1 person per minute, even with 2 staff at the counter. Would not recommend renting here if you value your time.

Took us 1 hour and 45 min to get our car, with the wait divided equally in lines at the service desk and in the garage. The majority of the crowd we waited with probably had reservations but Dollar obviously didn’t care to increase staffing. The delay ruined a day of our travel.

Dollar it's the worst place to rent a car! Go for Hertz, Enterprise or any other! Online check-in is a joke! Cars are terrible! I definitely do not recommend it .. and this was my 4th time renting with them, I gave them all the opportunities to do better!

Beware!!! What a joke of a company. The people that work there should all be fired including management. Don’t have a clue about customer service and have terrible attitudes. Will not accommodate any reasonable requests for travelers and very stubborn. Read the reviews. Apparently they scam customers with sham fees. Went to pickup managers special car at Dollar in Boston Logan airport. Told me they only had a Chevy Bolt electric car with 3 hour charge time and 150 mile range. Told the woman working there that I don’t have time to wait 3 hrs to charge the car and with the limited range and the fact I never drove an ev that could you give me a gasoline equivalent? Refused telling me to book the car I want next time. Management came and also refused the reasonable request. What a joke. So glad to have called Expedia and gotten a refund for $140. Went next door to Alamo and got midsize SUV for the same price. The got upgraded to a full size Chevy Traverse for free. Will NEVER rent from Dollar Again!!! Customers beware! Read the reviews

Terrible experience. There were a bunch of hidden fees not stated when booking on top of the already ridiculous $147 fee I was charged when booking online. Service was terrible. I am still being charged recurring fees for tolls more than a month later even though I didn’t go through any tolls. When I tried to call to resolve these recurring charges I was on hold forever and when I finally was able to speak to an agent they had thick accent and couldn’t understand me. Very frustrating experience I will never be using them again and would not recommend to anyone.

Paid in full, weeks in advance. Then charged an additional $130 after drop off. The tank was not full upon pick up and we left it at the same mark. Our jeep rental looked as if it was in an accident upon pick up. The vehicle was filthy and absolutely scratched up everywhere. Upon pick up there is next to no one to communicate with about any problems. We will be renting elsewhere.
