The only negative was that the room was a little small, with only about a foot of room between the end of the bed and furniture.
But the room was very comfortable, and very conducive to sleep. Everything else was good.
The staff at the desk was always very helpful and friendly. During check-in, while making a request, and check out, everybody was very helpful and friendly.
I didn't know what to expect in downtown Boston, but this was affordable but very pleasant. I would definitely stay again.

Really nice hotel, the room was really great and the location was perfect to explore the city. Also, despite not being able to book the room with the website because of the use of gift card the staff was really helpful and manage to make everything work.

Great place - enjoyed the gym and breakfast but best of all, staff (especially Phil) went above and beyond in addressing my questions, providing directions. Carli and Danielle were good too. Liliana at the breakfast service was amazing!

Great location within easy walking distance of nearly all the things you want to see.

I would rate the stay 3/5… the room was clean, the staff was very friendly, and overall had everything I needed for a long weekend. However, the hot water ran out and I went two days with no hot water. They only waived the amenity fee… unfortunately for the price I think there are better options around Boston.

On check in we waited without acknowledgement while the two staff members finished their conversation, not a good impression!
After a long wait for the lift (we appreciate the building is old but the lift was very slow throughout our stay), we reached our room.
The room was very dark with just one window right in the corner of the room, partially obscured by the shelving unit. Lights were needed during the day even with both blinds open.
Only one cup was provided even though it was a booking for two people.
In the bathroom there were two small towel hooks both directly over the toilet. There was no grab rail over the bath/shower, and overall the bathroom was dated.
The sliding door to the bathroom didn't have a proper handle just a thumbnail lock - if I used this it was difficult to then open the door.
Our room did not look like the pictures on the website, very misleading and it was small.
We had breakfast one morning but there was no choice of coffee and they did not provide hot milk even though it was requested. There was also coffee available in the lobby during the day but quite often the milk was empty and coffee stale.
On the plus side the hotel is in a great location close to Boston's sights and public transport, and there are some comfy sofas in the lobby.
Overall this is not really a 4* boutique hotel in our opinion. The customer service was poor, and we waited for our final invoice to be emailed to us for over a week and sending an email request (which has not been acknowledged).
We do not make a habit of leaving reviews like this but do a lot of research before booking our vacations and the website led us to believe this hotel would be just what we were looking for. Unfortunately in this instance it did not live up to it's expectations.

Great location, nice to stay for the weekend. Small room, but clean, expensive cleaning supplies. Little pricey $300+ for the night.

The hotel was nice but the front desk was slow and understaffed. Called down to get an extra towel and no one picked up. On the way out, stopped by the front desk to ask for a towel to be brought up - we never got it.

Restaurant is an afterthought with okay service and okay food. Rooms are small, needed to request refills on toiletries multiple times. Concierge was great.

My dad it was visiting me in Boston and we went to the Devils game. He stayed at this hotel Richard was amazing. He helps out a lot at the front desk. We really appreciated him. I got a charge on my credit card for 250 for smoking, but my dad is not smoke. I talked to Richard and he helped me out with everything and they said it was gonna go on my account and then this lady Jaden, who I was on the phone with a week after trying to tell me about why there’s a charge on my account was so rude and negative. She didn’t even talk to me about it. She said a lot of excuses and she said I don’t know why he would tell you this, but in the end of the result, she hung up on me. I do not recommend this hotel the only person I recommend is Richard. He was a sweetheart and a half, and I really appreciate all of his help. Everyone else was horrible and the room was not even that great.

So this review is due to me booking the room and realizing after I couldn’t go. I asked the to cancel the same day will was weeks ago and was told no. I did not see the insurance until afterwards, but it was the same day. I canceled it the same day or wanted to cancel it. They absolutely refused. So now I’m not canceling. They already have my money they are not gonna turn around and book this room And keep my money because that’s stealing. They’re not gonna double dip. I had sent another email to them asking if they would reconsider never got a response. So I am going to go And then I’ll post another review. That is if I can’t get my credit card for payment canceled. Anyone who’s going to book this hotel please read all the reviews. Don’t pay that kind of money For this hotel.

I am disappointed with the service - The receptionist asked me to keep my car at the Government garage since they have a deal with them and i paid $150 for my parking. However, when trying to exit the parking, she kept arguing on needing a validation while I stayed at the hotel only and they have my information! I also requested for a park and play for my baby which I got after 3 requests and it was broken! I had an unpleasant stay and do not recommend this hotel due to bad customer service.

My family and I drove from NY and stayed at the Boxer hotel for Easter weekend. We usually stay at the big name hotels & I was glad we didn’t stay at the other hotel this time. The service was exceptional at The Boxer; Ricky welcomed us right when we checked in with a warm smile & we had some laughs exchanged. He even remembers when we passed by the front desk and when we checked out.
I would highly recommend this hotel for the service!

The people that work at the hotel are very nice but...
we got back at 7 PM after a full day of sightseeing in Boston, and now it's 10 PM—and the dog in the next room has been barking and scratching the door non-stop for the past three hours because the owners simply left the poor animal alone. As a consequence, all of us in this floor cant sleep.
The front desk said they cant do anything because it is a pet friendly hotel and the dog's owners are not answering the phone.
I would recommend that the hotel charge a huge penalty for clients that leave their pet alone and disturb other guests and give other guests next door some kind of compensation like free breakfast or something from the penalty money.
Also rooms are quite small.
