If I can give no stars I would. I was trying to place an order over the phone (for delivery). I had the pleasure of speaking to Shyanne and she was something else, I tell you. She was beyond rude and coming at me with so much attitude FOR NO REASON. I am so glad this is not the Macys I go to because their service is f***** trash. THANKS SHYANNE FOR YOUR HORRIBLE SERVICE. (:

My Macy's card was declined at the Downtown Crossing Store last weekend. The clerk was nice enough to call credit cards services so I could see why. The reason it was declined was because it was closed because it hadn't been used since 2020 and it was a "security measure". They did this without notifying me! In case they were living in a cave, we had a pandemic going on starting in 2020! However, I was told by the person at credit services that I was welcome to reapply. I used another card instead and won't be reapplying for a new card. PS. Rated two stars as opposed to one because I did find a fantastic dress for an event and because the salesperson called credit services so we could see what was going on.

This used to be Jordan Marsh's flagship store - yes, I'm that old - until it was merged into Macy's. As a kid, I remember the delightful, elaborate Christmas displays with live Santas that they used to have along Summer Street. Thankfully, this store still puts them on for the holidays, if at a much reduced scale. Inside, it's as if nothing has changed in the last 20 or 30 years. The same shelves, beaten-up décor, and drab lighting make for a downbeat shopping experience, especially if entire sections look completely empty. Even if clothes shopping doesn't feel upscale here nowadays, it's still a dependable place for kitchenwares, luggage, and other bulky household items.

Manager, Jennifer displayed racist behavior towards me. Belligerently screaming is not a form of communication. I did not feel safe there and will not return.

I recently visited Macys on Washington Street in Boston. I visited the shoe department and found a pair of shoes I wanted to try. The agent told me it would be two to three minutes while he searched for the shoes. He then proceeded to spend several minutes arranging shoes before he went to search for my shoes. 15 minutes later he emerged with the shoes. I tried them on and decided to buy them. No one was around. I waited at the register for an additional 10 minutes and no one emerged. I ended up leaving the shoes on the desk. I then found a jacket I wanted to buy. I couldn't find any place to purchase it. When I did find a register it was 10 people deep. I abandoned the jacket and left. So unfortunate to experience this low level of service. I wonder how much money Macys has lost.

This Macy's was interesting. They had a lot of summer clothing despite it being October. That surprised me. They did have a lot of boots to choose from. I tried on a couple pair of boots but nothing really jived for me. I did end up purchasing a Calvin Klein blouse. The store is spaced out nicely. I think there were three levels. A nice lady helped me in the shoes department. She took the time to answer questions even though she had lots of customers around her. That was the opposite of the clothing department where it took quite a while to find someone to ring me up even though there were no customers. This is probably the nicest department store in Downtown Boston. They also have a Starbucks on the first floor.

I had a nice young lady named Yaislin help me out with opening a credit card and I was so glad she was very helpful, she truly helped me with everything I asked and provided the best customer service.

So where is everybody? The store has gone down in service and shopping energy is gone! People are just walking aimlessly and there's like one clerk in the men's section, one college student in the sunglass section who gets paid by the hour who'll make enough hours to file unemployment. nobody at the cosmetic counters barely anybody on the second floor where the women's department is and it's dead! I used to work in town so I remembered how busy this place was with a lot of store clerks helping out. I'm guessing it's because of the internet and online shopping. This store is huge and I just feel it's never going to be the same which is depressing for Macy's. Macy's is an iconic store through the years and all I can think of right now is the Macy's Thanksgiving parade.. will they even be one now? It's depressing and lonely. And the sparce clientele is really strange like why is the creepy homeless man looking at sunglasses here? Shopping in stores are going to be obsolete just like cursive handwriting.

While on vacation, I stopped by to go shopping for my dad. Without a doubt the men's department is way better than some of the other Macy's stores I have visited locally where I live. The men's collection was way more substantial with plenty of different options.

I will NEVER order from Macys.com again.I have always been a loyal Macy's customer. Last month, I ordered a $200 item 3 weeks in advance of a birthday, and now, a month later, it is "still processing."I have spent about 4 hours on the phone with customer service this last week - and each person assured me the item would be shipped and they would give me 1 day shipping - and that I should hang up and wait for an email - and I would DEFINITELY receive the item by the end of the week. After waiting another week (missing the birthday) and demanding to speak to 2 different supervisors (after being told the same thing by the customer service agent and being on hold for another hour) - I was told the item is discontinued and the best they could offer is cancel my order. No apology or store credit for trying to trust Macy's, wasting 4+ hours with their customer service, and missing a birthday when I planned a month in advance....unacceptable.
