First thing worth noting is this gym used to be Gold's Gym in Southie - they rebranded and moved and it's a totally new location, new equipment, etc. So many of the reviews below aren't super accurate. Location Right by West Broadway on A Street. Super easy to get to, near the T, good area. Very clean inside. Equipment Brand new equipment, lots of cardio equipment, two peloton bikes. There's stairstepper, 10+ treadmills, bikes, ellipticals , arc trainers, an Erg machine and more. Big selection of weights - upstairs is 5-25 and downstairs is 5-100+ with barbell options, squat racks, bench press, etc. One thing to note is they are pretty frequently running low on spring clips which makes the squat rack that has it more competitive. FacilitiesNo locker rooms - they are under construction but this far very little work has been done at least visually. The bathrooms have lockers and there are additional lockers and cubbies in the main area. The bathrooms are not great - the toilets very consistent do not flush. The water filler is good but the filter could use changing. StaffGreat staff, very helpful. I had questions on billing and they were very straightforward. I haven't had an experience like noted in other reviews. PriceGood price, varies based on the plan you choose but I pay $50/month plus a annual maintenance fee. Also had a fee to join around $250.

I've been a member for a long. I enjoyed going to the old gym. But new location is great. All the equipment is updated. The staff is helpful and friendly. The True Fitness Southie experience keeps me going to the gym.

This gym and the management should be ashamed of themselves. My 17 year old son scanned a QR code to sign up. He was charged $179.00 and then was subsequently charged $29.00 per month for maintenance fees. He tried to cancel this. We called the gym and the two kids that work the front counter cannot help him. We were told to send an email to a bogus email address that auto generates a reply saying they cannot help you unless you have a medical condition. I even tried to say that but you get another auto email that leads you in circles. I left numerous messages with the supposed manager at the gym that no one knows in person. Her name is *****************************. She cannot be bothered to call us back. I emailed corporate with no reply. Went to the gym and was told by another child working the front that they couldn't help. They are not allowed to cancel accounts. My son has NEVER set foot in the gym. Not once. Shame on them. We have since had to cancel his debit card and refute the charges with the bank. The gyn had the audacity to send their version of back-up which was a scanned QR code. Obviously, an unsigned form of back up. How bad can you be to charge someone that has never been there and not call them back for 1 month. This gym is horrible. Again shame on you.

This place has been open since late December. Promised locker rooms and a sauna…. Well neither are in yet and it looks like their expensive memberships aren’t enough to even finish the job never mind fix the AC in mid summer. The gym itself isn’t bad and has all the essentials but they don’t keep a promise. How can you not have your AC fixed immediately when it’s late June. Might as well not even put in the sauna at this point. Money grabber. Typical Boston gym. Go elsewhere until they actually do what they say. JOKE. That is the locker room that was promised 7 months ago…

There is a sign outside that says specials. when you go inside for the tour they tell you there are no specials! The one time $250 sign on fee is just abusive. From reading the reviews and going on the tour, i’ll pass.

Scam - promised locker rooms upon sign up in December. Still no locker rooms as of June. Not to mention it’s impossible to cancel this membership.

I tried canceling my membership a year ago, per the gym’s own instructions, and have still been getting charged every month. When trying to email them to fix this, they simply do not reply. Only sign up at this gym if you plan to be a member forever, because you will not be able to cancel. Edit to reply to owner comment: yes obviously I called, they told me to send an email! How about instead of replying to my review you write me a check for the $700 your gym has stolen from me?

ABC Fitness Solutions who is the billing/accounting arm of this business is a complete and total scam. 382 complaints to the BBB in the past three years. I called them to cancel my membership and was told they could not find me in their system, I have membership number, etc, no record. I had BOA stop payments immediately. Beware.

Decent equipment, but paying for showers, sauna, locker rooms that aren't there for another few months (years?). The water filter is constantly at the end of its life.Music is either crazy loud or turned completely off.

They moved to a new location and have brand new equipment. Price is reasonable and it’s not too crowded the vast majority of the day. Note that the pictures on google are from their old location and the new location is much nicer with much nicer equipment. They are still working on the locker rooms and I’m looking forward to the saunas that they are installing. Other commenters have had issues with cancellation but I can’t speak to that. Management has been pretty responsive to my emails when I had a billing question. My only complaint would be that there isn’t a strong culture of wiping down equipment after use. It’s sort of a 50-50 thing and to be honest I can’t blame management because they put up plenty of towels and cleaning spray.
