Big uncluttered department store, I found it better than in other cities (Chicago, sf, Philadelphia), but definitely not cheap. But I took what I needed, quickly and reliably 🙂

The store is about what you come to expect when you visit a Macy’s across the United States. They have departments for Men, women and children. Good clothes and you can sometimes get a deal.

Very unhappy with this store. I ended up opening a credit card with them because of their advertisement regarding discounts upon getting the Macy's card. While I agree that I should have asked what I was signing up for more, there promotion was misleading and did not clearly state anywhere that it was a credit card one was signing up for. The person who helped us also did not guide us well. They might not have had malintent, but they were not forthcoming with information and were not patienct with us. Very unfriendly to customers who may not know this system well. Now I have lost 11 points of my credit score for a stupid $16 discount. They are clearly ony motivated by corporate greed with no regard for their customers. Never going back there and will not recommend anyone else go either. This would be zero stars if it could be.

The Dior counter is a disaster. I asked about a $65 hand cream and was informed they don’t have a tester—and went right back to their regularly scheduled TikTok streaming.

Shoppers beware and check your receipts! The purchase of clothing in Massachusetts is NON TAXABLE ( single item less then $199).
Second time I noticed I was charged tax on a shirt and brought it to the attention of the cashiers.

I can see why there struggling financially. I wear a size 16/18. Their plus size section looks like your frumpy aunts closet. I needed a holiday dress and they only had about 10 items in my size. Of that 75% was definitely for an older person. Think mother of the bride. If your a plus size girly go elsewhere

The rudest customer service across multiple departments. Cashiers act like you are a bother and are uncivil and borderline disrespectful. Will not come back and will switch to Dillards and Nordsroms. They have better choices anyway.

What you expect from a Macy's. I like the selection of Levi's jeans and my girlfriend likes the cosmetics selection. Helpful employees. Can be accessed directly from the Downtown Crossing T stop as well. Beware the bathrooms can be a little skeezy though.
