Worth the price of admission to walk around and learn some things. The displays were informative and being in the place where all these historical figures had been was cool

Very beautiful amazing place, I have made the 3D puzzle of this historic building because I love it's architecture and the revolutionary history associated with it, you can get a kit of my 3D by seaching for Models of Monuments on google/Instagram/Facebook or visit the Old State House Museum. It' s one of Boston's must-see places

A place associated with the historical event that gave rise to the American Revolution of Independence - the Boston Tea Party. I am a tour guide in and around Boston. From here I begin my excursions along the Freedom Trail in Russian and Ukrainian.

Part of a dual site along with the Old State House, this is a smaller but still very interesting site. Along one side are displays charting the history of the site through the years based around different topics such as the Revolution and preservation. Don't miss the timeline close by as well, it's really helpful putting everything in context. You can sit in most of the pews too apart from the historical one in the corner!Everything is pretty much in the one room (rest rooms are on lower level) so this is a great one if you're short on time.At the moment, entry/exit is through the same door although there used to be a small gift shop on the lower level with an exit there so I'm not sure if that is permanently closed or has moved to seasonal opening.

I'm writing this review from the perspective of someone who only had a few days in Boston. Although there is some neat history here, it wasn't anything special. Of all the historic sites we visited, this is probably the top of the list of things that we could have passed on. That being said, the building is cool and it was neat to walk around in it. It seems to need some funding for needed repairs, which was disappointing to see. Hopefully they'll find a way to fix what they need to fix so the building can be preserved for future generations to enjoy and learn.

I had entry to the Old South Meeting House as part of the GoCity pass. I’m glad I was able work this sight in. I learned a lot about its history and its significance.I really liked how it was accessible and one could sit in the pews / benches and be transported back in history.Fun fact from the docent - the square seating areas were rented by prominent families annually and was used to bring in cushions and other conveniences for the regular 6-7 church service.

Came here along the Freedom Trail. The back of the meeting house has a bunch of history that you can read. I wish there had been a docent or a presenter to speak about the history to make it more engaging to kids. The condition of the building was great.

For such a historical location, the museum has great potential...but the museum just felt a bit lackluster compared to others in the Boston area. Some artifacts are on display...some history is mentioned...but the architecture is a bit boring compared to King's Chapel.A small blunder I noticed was the map of free states and slave states. For some reason Delaware was coloured in as a Free State when infact Delaware is a slave state. (Frederick Douglass' autobiography and multiple secondary/primary sources tend to agree.)However this is a small mistake, and mistakes are prone to happen sometimes. A cool visit, but not the highest on the list of things to do in Boston.

Summary: Inadequate propagandistic museum; beautiful building. Take pictures from the outside but don't waste your money on the museum. This review discusses the value of the price for admission to the museum on site, not the historic building. If you want to see the building, just look at it from the outside. The museum cost my family of two children, a teenager, two adults and a senior $70+. This included both the Old South meeting house, and the Old State House, but that didn't add to the value significantly. The Old South Meeting House museum consists of a single church sanctuary with displays that celebrate a wide range of individuals bundled together in an amorphous and historically unnuanced label of "Protesters." That group includes such opposing voices as George Whitfield and Margaret Sanger. The displays provide less historical information than a bad Wikipedia article, and completely ignore the history of the building as a Puritan meeting house, not to mention the worldview and morality taught there. Most egregious is the statue and display bemoaning the censoring of the blatant racist and proponent of eugenics, Margaret Sanger. While admitting that the Klan was also prohibited from the space, they apparently did not feel that a monument to the Klan was appropriate, although it would have been at least consistent with their sadness over censored racists. The museum has an agenda and is not interested in sharing history accurately. It was a total waste of money, not only because it was a disappointment but because I know that my money will be misused to spread anti-truths to others.
