While I was excited about doing business with a ************* ***** getting started was a little rough...Called several times with concerns and issues which never got resolved( a year passed) UNTIL I submitted a review, THEN a very nice and pleasant rep reached out to me. I'm a very conscientious consumer so I have to be honest; I did not get the level of service I expected.

Hands down worst bank I’ve ever experienced or heard of. I opened an account with them 3 years ago in an effort to Bank Black. But sadly, they are horrible. They hold deposited checks anywhere from 2-20 days, never notified me when my tenants’ checks had bounced, froze my account every time I tried to withdraw from it, etc. we almost lost the house we bought because they wouldn’t let me have my money for the down payment (I left plenty of time, and called ahead so they wouldn’t think it was fraud. ) donate some money to the NAACP and bank with a credit union instead)

Terrible bank. They hold deposited funds far too long. I’ve experienced 2 weeks! What’s the point in having a bank where you cannot access your money? Customer service is no help. All they do when you call is send you through a loop. I’m all for supporting black-owned business, but there are much better banks that will allow access to your funds in a timely manner. Do NOT recommend.

Really awful customer service. I opened the account because I wanted to support Black-owned businesses. It was painful to close my CDs properly. Even after I did that, it was still hard to get a bank card and to do anything else i wanted. I eventually decided i wanted to close my account; the closure did not work online because of their failure. They sent me a charge and i was eventually able to get it reversed. They then said they would send me a check because it failed as a transfer (fine). When I got the check, it was short by the amount of the charge. I complained and they said that there was an additional charge because i was below the minimum balance (the only reason i was below the minimum balance is because of the original incorrect charge). I sent a request to the BBB and the bank said they would get back to me in 2 days. I am now waiting 3 weeks later. Awful service; would not recommend.

I hope that I will be able to update this review. I want to love One United but they are making it difficult. I opened a checking and savings account on March 3. After which I learned my money would not be available for 16 days. Seriously, 16 days! To top that off, I am waiting for my debit card. They are now saying they mailed it and have to send another, which will arrive in 5-7 days. There is a 50 dollar fee to expedite it, which I refuse to pay. Why should I? I have left three messages for supervisors to call me back, I've yet to get a call back. If these problems don't resolve in the next two weeks, lesson learned. I want to love One United, some people or in this case some institutions, make it hard for you to love them. Update: this seems like a rote response, I am waiting for a call.

Hello my name is Calvin Young, Would you offer me an second opportunity to be a Unity visa card member. I mailed in a paper application an I was told over the phone that you can not apply by mail only online. But when I apply online I never get approved again for a Unity Visa card an I do not receive an reason why after I apply online. I will like to apply for a little credit limit.

This is the worse bank to have a secured card. Customer service is non existent and the inability to make electronic payments to the account is horrible. I would go with Capital One or another provider. UPDATE: Thanks for your reply One United Bank. Once again, you guys have missed the point. Every credit card issuer out there has their own website in which a customer can make electronic payments and to see when those are posted. With your bank, one can mail a payment, go through Western Union (for an additional cost), or through a customers' bank bill paying service. The problem lies of when One United Bank actually posts the payments to a customer's account. By having eliminated a customer's ability to make payments directly on a One United Bank portal, we have in essence gone backwards into a Stone Age.
