They are incompetent, and have bad and deceptive business practices. Take a look at their amazon score. It is 100%...and something is fishy here. Anytime somebody leaves a negative review, they cry and lie to amazon to have it removed, rather than owning up to their mistakes. They do not know their own inventory. When you find an underpriced item you like, they would rather lie and cancel your order than honor the purchase. And it has happened multiple times. I would not recommend this seller, nor will I buy from them again.

Exactly what you want out of a used record shop. Hole in the wall, knowledgeable staff, wide selection. Love it all!

Small but tightly packed below street level shop selling mostly classical CDs, vinyl records, books and sheet music. Almost everything is used. CDs are very keenly priced starting at a dollar and most boxed sets very cheap. Very strong opera / vocal range, and friendly staff when I visited. Most of the stock is good quality, major label releases. Musicals and DVDs as well.

Ed was extremely knowledgeable and super friendly! I highly recommend stopping in to check this place out, and at the very least, if you get to meet the owner Ed, you will have the privilege of meeting the nicest, most sincere person you will ever meet.

I love this little shop, but it pays to call ahead. Their posted hours are not always accurate. I made a special trip today, only to find them closed. Live and learn!

Super friendly staff. Fun selection of opera scores and tons of other stuff. Some covers are a little beat up but the content looked great in everything I saw.

I've been going to this store since I was 12 and in the 20 years since, the deals and bargains at this gem have remained consistent and the collection of used classical music recordings has never disappointed and has always been of the highest quality! Buy as many recordings and scores as you can to make sure stores like this stay open long into the future!

If you like classical music you HAVE TO check this place out! (They also have some showtunes, jazz, pop, and other music). This is an amazing store hidden away just off of Mass Ave. on Commonwealth. Although a small space, they have a huge selection of CDs and a large collection of vinyl. The prices are awesome. They have several shelves of $1 CDs (and there are lots of gems in there, they're not junk), a big section of CDs that are slightly more (I think they were 3 for $5), and section of "normal" priced albums which are still mostly $4.99-5.99 (some less and some more). The owners are passionate about music and stock good stuff--they have most of the major composers from the Renaissance to early 20th Century, many of them performed by legendary orchestras, instrumentalists, and singers. If there's a specific piece you're looking for, they often have several different recordings of it. Their 20th-21st Century section is a bit small, but at least they have one. I can't believe this place has been around so long and I just heard about it! I was like a kid in a candy store when I went there. Please go there and spread the word to other classical fans!

Years and years of excellent service and good discs. They just saved my bacon for a Christmas present and I couldn't be more pleased.

If you're looking for a classical music store, this is the best I have found anywhere. Literally packed from ceiling to floor with basically everything imaginable. It's like classical CD Narnia. I can't wait till I am in Boston again to go here, unfortunately I only had a couple hours and 50 dollars the first time...

A TRUE CLASSICAL MUSIC STORE, which despite the small space boasts an expansive and inclusive inventory. Sporting great deals as well as priceless collectibles, Orpheus has treasures for everyone from their seasoned regulars to those who stumble upon it. I had trouble navigating and was quickly helped by a friendly and incredibly knowledgable employee. THIS SMALL LOCAL BUSINESS IS A TREASURE.
