I recently visited, and unfortunately, my experience was far from pleasant. While the bookstore itself is charming and well-organized, the employees were incredibly rude and unwelcoming. From the moment I walked in, I was constantly reminded that they were closing soon, which made me feel rushed and uncomfortable. It’s understandable to notify customers of closing time, but the way they repeatedly emphasized it felt excessive and unprofessional.
The store has a great selection of books, but the attitude of the staff really detracts from the overall vibe of the place. I hope the management addresses this, as it could be a lovely spot if the customer service matched the inviting atmosphere of the store.

I recently traveled two hours to visit your store in Boston, only to arrive just minutes before closing. Despite making it before the official closing time, I was informed that I couldn’t enter because the store was closing in five minutes. I understand the importance of closing on time, but it was frustrating to have come such a long way and be turned away. A bit of flexibility or clearer communication about last entry times would have been appreciated.
I work in retail, so I understand the importance of closing on time, but if you're open, you're open.

I love this store, the issue lies with the people working there. They make the whole environment feel so volatile. Every time I come in with friends or go in to look around they will snicker and whisper to each other. All around the vibe is so unwelcoming. Just let me come in get my Sonny Angel and leave without feeling judged.

Took my son here for his birthday. The listed time was 11 am, and we were excited to be waiting outside for 2 hours before opening. At 11:15 they still weren’t open. I saw staff inside so I knocked, and they came to the door and yelled “what the hell do you want lady?”
I’m a man first of all, second of all her tone was poor. I asked when they would be open to which the lady replied “lol I don’t know figure it out, and shut the door”
I waited until 1:30 while wathing her watch Instagram reels and inviting guests who appeared to be her friends come in to hang out and have coffee, all the while my son was crying.
Bad time all around.

In today’s digital age, finding a charming, small bookstore is rare, but this gem in Boston is every book lover’s dream. The staff were not only incredibly helpful but also exceptionally friendly. If you’re in the Boston area, I highly recommend visiting this bookstore. It’s a wonderful experience that every book nerd will appreciate!
