Wish I could give less than one star. I have been going to South Bay for over 15 years. They undiagnosed a heart problem with my 13 year old dog that has been going to them for his whole life. When I went to an emergency treatment center on a Sunday they refused to fill the life saving prescription for my dog.

Can't thank them more! My poor little pup tore a nail, (wasn't sure at the time) just saw blood and ran 5 blocks. Couldn't have been more understanding and welcoming! Thanks again!

Our older dog was on a prescription kidney diet (basically low sodium and low protein food with a little more fat), and our younger dog ate it too. Since our older dog passed, my younger dog kept eating this, and when I tried giving her regular dog food, she refused to eat. When I tried to get another bag of the kidney diet approved through this vet, they refused saying she was overdue for a visit. When I asked for a small size bag to be approved until she could come in for an appointment, they still refused. Meanwhile, she’s literally starving herself. As a doctor myself, I would never refuse a prescription bc someone is overdue for follow up. What I would do is write for a shorter course to tide the patient over until they could make it in for a visit. And this isn’t even a prescription medication I asked for - it’s food, and a basic need. They want her to come in for a “senior profile,” which is basically a blood chemistry that would show either she has kidney problems and should be on this food, or has no kidney problems and could still eat this food. They say it’s “illegal” to approve this which is simply untrue. They cited the FDA, who does not set any sort of legislature for veterinary prescription diets. There are no laws prohibiting them from approving our purchase. There SHOULD be a law against them letting an animal starve until they can get an appointment so the practice can make money. This kind of decision lacks either intelligence or morals, both equally unacceptable from a veterinarian.

We’ve been taking our dogs here for a few years and the Drs are incredible. I had previously taken my dogs to a clinic in JP and they just weren’t doing it for me, had also tried a vet on the South Shore and had been to Angel and just wasn’t finding the right balance of service, cost, availability and experience, so we switched to South Bay after many recommendations. So glad we found them. Amazing humans with wonderful bedside manners and prices are typical for the area but you get that extra care that makes their care so much more valuable. 10/10 recommend.

It can be hard to find a vet in Boston. It seems like no one is ever accepting new patients. It took me about 2.5 months to get in for a new patient visit which was better than nothing. Wait times between appointments is a little long for my liking (about 2 weeks) but I'm not sure what the industry standard is.So far they've worked well with my elderly house cat. Overall the vets and technicians seem caring.I'm removing a star for some scheduling issues I've had with them. A little unclear who's fault it is. Nonetheless, I'll continue to go to this vet.

I’ve been taking my babies here since 2007. I am a loyal fan of all the doctors. Through the years I’ve met every one. They are very professional, and do their jobs with compassion, love, and care. They’ve taken excellent care of my little ones. I can’t forget the staff, They are amazing as well. Thank you South Bay Vets. You provide the best care I’ve ever experienced.

Love this vet office. Always available when needed. I particularly love Dr Jenkins who's as great with humans as she is with the pets. Have been going to her for years and she's been the best in every instance.

Very good experience with Dr. Gardiner, always, and most recently with spaying of our cat Chata, which we were worried about Everything worked out great. She was herself from day one! Good experience. Christopher and Estrella
