This is a gross stop and shop. Expensive too. Its dirty and dingy and need to be rehauled or replaced with a Trader Joes.

The South Boston Stop & Shop has seriously stepped up its game when it comes to the dairy department. Lately, it’s been fully stocked, super organized, and always clean — no matter what time I stop in. Whether I need basics like milk and eggs or specialty items like almond and oat milk, it’s all there and easy to find. It’s honestly impressive how consistent it’s been. The team running that section deserves serious credit.
That said, the rest of the store could definitely take notes — if every department ran as smoothly and reliably as dairy, this place would be unbeatable. Time to step it up, folks!

Every single time I have to go here it’s worse than the last. Normal items are constantly out of stock, app inventory is wildly inaccurate, and there are literally no employees on the floor. They have maybe two cashiers and one person working in the back behind the bakery counter. I waited to ask the bakery person for assistance and she made eye contact then walked away, never to reappear. So disgusted with the way this store is run and the lack of respect for customers. Corporate needs to hire more people and train them on how to properly interact with people.

Good for a supermarket run when you forgot something. The store could be better but it's because it's outdated not because of the employees. The staff is very hard working and helpful.

Good variety. Prices a little high. Cashier was a bit snippy.

It is my belief that this Stop and Shop is collaboratively owned and operated by Mr. Krabs, Scrouge McDuck, and Montgomery C. Burns. Obviously I’m kidding… in reality this place is owned by a bunch of Dutch Hollanders (Ahold Delhaize ) who scurry off to the bank (it’s definitely windmill shaped) in their wooden clogs screaming “lekker pik!” (seriously, look it up) as soon as you check out. The photo below shows $35 worth of groceries on 1/23/24. 4 sticks of butter costs $8. All jokes aside, find somewhere else to shop.

It's definitely a great place to grab some items for your fridge or home the only thing it doesn't have a good seafood selection so if you're looking for seafood ? I don't recommend it but everything else is there.

I’m a fur mama, my bestie is a human mom, she always drives to market basket bc she’s says this stopies pricing is outrageous…. I would laugh at her - until this past Sunday when it cost me triple what she paid for the same items from market basket… $323 for cold cuts, drinks and frozen pizza ??♀️

Worst grocery store ever! Always out of basics, have to double check ever date as many times their shelves are stocked with expired food, and they closed down their deli tonight 2.5 hours early so that they wouldn't fail an inspection tomorrow. How this location or business in general stays afloat is beyond me. They are honestly horrible!!!!!! I live across the street and only ever go there if I run out of something- I travel 20-30 minutes to go anywhere else for groceries. Avoid at all costs!

Maybe a 1.5* Prices over the top, disgusting greed by this Holland owned company. I only go for emergencies, one or two items. But I want to talk about their Frozen dessert pies...Marie Callender's (Con Agra brands). I bought a last minute Frozen Dessert pie for an extra dessert on Thanksgiving, it was the Coconut Cream Pie. It was inedible!!! I mean throw the whole pie in the Garbage!!!, not fit for human consumption!! When using the term "Cream", that means cream! Not some chemically concocted, heart killing ultra sweet who knows what...cream substitute!! The gross taste is still in my mouth. It was a #10 on the sweetness scale? Maybe the Einsteins and food scientists who created this mess think American are stupid and we equate sweetness with real heavy cream?? You could not tell where the "cream" ended and the coconut cream started? it was like 60% gross imitation cream and 40% coconut cream. But it was not a cream, t'was another cross concoction. Without a doubt the worst pie I have ever seen...Maybe the rumors are right that some manufacturers are intentionally trying to make Americans sick? We travel a lot in Europe and their food, even in markets have a lot of integrity. We are an embarrassment to the World with many of our products banned world wide. And with the use of inappropriate and often dangerous chemicals you can't blame them!!!

Small store really for picking up something that you forgot at another grocery store if you live nearby. The prices of items are crazy, and the quality of food is not that great. I would not recommend going here to shop for a weeks worth of food or on a regular basis. Did not deal with any employees because the checkout lines were self checkout while some employees watched (which it probably would be quicker if they scanned items, it was a zoo in there). Overall one of the worst grocery stores I've been to, but the location can save you for an item you forgot to get somewhere else.
