It’s been a long time since I last dined here and it was just as amazing as I remember. We loved all of the food here—excellent and of a high caliber. We started with the oysters which were (I think) the best oysters I’ve ever had. They brought out bread afterwards with freshly scooped butter. Might be some of the best rolls and butter I’ve had too. The bread, lightly salted on top, was crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. The butter, which melts into the bread as you spread it, had notes of honey in it too adding an extra sweetness. Top tier.All of the entrees were stellar, and one thing I loved was how appropriate the portion sizes were. We finished everything and were content without being overly full. The steak was cooked and seasoned to perfection with mashed potatoes. The creamy carbonara was flavorful with the squash. The branzino was also cooked perfectly and came with tasty sides. And lastly the scallops had a great sauce and went well with the mushrooms.We tried the date cake and chocolate soufflé for dessert but it wasn’t anything crazy or over the top. They don’t have a pastry chef.Lastly I’ll comment on the decor as the vibe was quiet and nice with fun pictures hanging around. The back door is also connected to a speakeasy!

As a self-proclaimed foodie, this was one of the best meals I've had in a long time. An absolute hidden gem. It almost made me sad that it wasn't at max capacity on a Friday night. The most amazing staff, food was beyond exceptional - literally down to the bread and butter that I'll be craving until I go back. Already trying to figure out who to bring over there next.

Our waiter was nice. But overall the customer service we received from other members made us very uncomfortable.

Troquet is spectacular. The food is simply perfect. Every time. The date cake for dessert was unusual and delicious. Our server was on top of everything with excellent recommendations. Troquet has been one of our favorite places for many years. It has never wavered from excellent food, wine and service.

Fantastic waitstaff at the bar. The branzino was cooked to perfection! The grilled salad was good too. The baby firefly was great!

For the price you pay, you would expect to get an high-end cuisine experience, but i am afraid it is not the case...From the menu that show modernized ideas of French and Italian cuisine they forgot the most important thing in food, it has to taste good.The wine selection we got was poor and small.The service was lacking big, from dishes coming way too late, waiter that just couldn't care about the table, the only thing that was authentically French was the service.Last but not least the the 3% charge added to the total of the bill for non-tipped staff, complete ripoff, if you cant pay your employs well why should I? add this to the food cost instead of ripping off your customers.

I have been consistently pleased with my experience at Troquet on South Street. The staff are always gracious and engaged. This includes the waiters, the bar tender and the receptionist. Last night, a group of 4 of us had a celebratory dinner there. Two of the people remarked "why didn't I know about this place" after having a great time in this special restaurant.

10/10 experience. Food, drinks, service.Wild mushroom risotto, seared scallops, ribeye, duck, kale, and the table bread - all ?Highly recommend getting entrees and sharingCouple bottles of wine recommended by the sommelier - ?Espresso martini (ordered dark) and all of the desserts. To die forVery impressed and will be back!

I would definitely recommend this restaurant. From the opening glass of champagne, to the out-of-this world hot buttered buns..and they scooped the butter out of a barrel! Service was superb. My companion had a pasta dish which was good, altho a bit skimpy on the portion. I had the duck which was very good..a bit dry for duck and might have used a bit more of the tangy sauce. I would not bother with the potatoes tho. Desserts were great, and so was the atmosphere. Definitely not a cheap date, but a very nice extravagant evening.

Unfortunately I need to give this place 1/5 stars due to over the phone customer service. I went to the restaurant and thoroughly enjoyed my night. But when calling the restaurant after realizing I left an important belonging, I was patched in to a help line. The service representative was extremely rude, unprofessional, and quite difficult to speak with. They insisted that the restaurant was open, but that they could not put me in touch with the restaurant I left just moments ago. I want to note that the onsite bartenders and managers were incredibly courteous and professional while I was dining. I called 3 times about the item left in the restaurant, hoping to get a different representative, the first two times were in hopes that someone would patch me in to the restaurant across town, about to close, the one service representative speaking with me both times on the phone chose to be both rude and unhelpful and would not put me in touch with anyone at the restaurant or with the management team. I can understand procedure, but I cannot understand someone who decides to belittle customers, laugh at their inconvenience and misfortune, or raise their voice when being asked questions about how one might get in touch with a general manager. I’m sure he was having a really bad day, but he literally laughed at me over the phone when I asked if he could patch me into the restaurant that he insisted was still open. After arriving at the restaurant after running across town, knocking on the locked door, and by some miracle retrieving my bag with the help of a very kind bartender and manager. I called again to try and reconcile with this rude man, pointing out the need for a direct line to the restaurant he instructed me to run to. The customer service representative insisted that I was unreasonable for asking to be patched through to the restaurant I dined at just 30 minutes ago and just entered moments ago. The customer service representative then hung up on me for the third time. My suggestion is: record your phone calls, this guy is losing you business.

The restaurant has a pretty loud atmosphere, which can be a bit overwhelming, especially because the sound doesn't carry well in the space. When it comes to the service, it's just alright – nothing really stands out. The same goes for the food; it's average and doesn't leave a lasting impression. It feels like both the service and the food could use some improvements to really make the dining experience something special.
