The Zoo Carousel is a solid zoo that offers a variety of interesting and exciting animals, including a lion, a family of gorillas, a couple of pygmy hippos, a giraffe family, and a sloth. The zoo experience can last around 2-2.5 hours, especially for visitors with younger children. However, it can be longer for those with longer attention spans. The zoo is recommended to be visited first thing in the morning to avoid the crowds and chaos that can build up later in the day. Additionally, the zoo features a giant playground in the middle, which is a great attraction for children. The zoo also hosts a popular event called the "Boston Lights" during the Halloween season, which features a gorgeous and well-executed light festival. While the parking situation can be a bit confusing, with small lots spread out and a lack of traffic control, the overall experience inside the zoo is superb. Visitors have praised the effort and attention to detail put into the light displays, creating a captivating and enchanting atmosphere. The zoo is a small but enjoyable destination, particularly on a beautiful fall day when the weather is warm, and many of the animals are active. Visitors have also expressed interest in returning at night to experience the "Boston Lights" event, which is highly recommended for its stunning visual display.
We went to the zoo lights for Halloween and they were gorgeous!! They did a really excellent job. My only issue is parking was kind of confusing. They had little lots all spread out and there wasn't anyone directing traffic or cops to make sure people crossed the street safely. But once we were inside it was super pretty

Small zoo, but enjoyed walking through it on a beautiful fall day, it was pretty warm, and many of the animals were sleeping, but the giraffes were walking and eating. Would like to come back at night sometime for the lights of Boston nights!
