We went to King's to purchase a Lilac Tree. Quentin showed us many varieties and sizes. He is very knowledgeable and pleasant. We ended up getting 3 Lilacs and a Dogwood.
It's now over a year later and all 4 trees are doing fabulously. King's really has such a better product than the other places. Yes, it is not a fancy retail location, but when you need trees and shrubs this is the place to go.

We’ve visited King’s Tree Farm twice now, and both times have had exceptional service! Quentin and his team are incredibly knowledgeable, and they were able to give us insight into native plants that would work well for our property and met our wildlife (and aesthetic) goals. We will absolutely be back as repeat customers and are so lucky to have such a great resource nearby!

Hi. I googled propagating near me. Kings turned up. I am propagating Magnolia seeds for the 1st time. Quentin was a wealth of information and couldn't have been nicer. Highly recommend this place. 13 acres. Very unique. Great experience for sure!

King’s is fantastic. It is definitely different from your typical nursery. This isn’t a bunch of plants neatly lined up in a parking lot. It’s a nursery that seems dug out of the forest by people who actually care about this kind of stuff, and who want to help others plant things that will look great and be beneficial for the local environment.

We are doing a pollinator-support landscaping project and using only drought-tolerant native plants and trees. We went to King’s to see what their thoughts were about tree selection for our space. Going in, my knowledge of local trees boiled down to “birch trees are pretty” and “an oak will be too big”.
Quentin had many suggestions for beautiful native trees that met all of our criteria for size, sun exposure, deer resistance, flowers to attract pollinators, fruit to attract birds, and so on. He knows absolutely everything about our local trees and was super friendly. He suggested several trees I had never even heard of, but once I saw pictures, were absolutely trees I wanted to plant in my yard.
Quentin went above and beyond throughout the process. I sent him a bird’s-eye view of my yard with notes on where I intended to place the trees and he reviewed it and made suggestions. When I picked the trees up, he already had them wrapped up and ready to go, helped me load them into my van, and sent me off with detailed planting and care instructions.
And to top it all off, we spent well under $100 per tree for healthy, six-foot trees—quite a bit less than I was expecting.
Great place, great experience. Highly recommended. I only wish trees grew faster, so I didn’t have to wait five years to see the full beauty of the trees we planted!

We went to King's for the first time this weekend and came back with a beautiful dogwood, lilac and holly. Quentin walked around with us, showed us what we were interested in, answered questions, and made recommendations when asked. Super helpful and friendly and not pushy at all. I would definitely go back.

Amazing visit and I am so happy I discovered this place! Quentin gave me a tour of the entire site and helped me pick out a tree. He's super knowledgeable and clearly passionate about what he does! They have lots of native plants and their tree prices are much more reasonable than anywhere else I've gone. I haven't gotten that kind of expertise or one on one assistance at any other nursery.

Lots of trees, shrubs and plants. Plenty of natives to choose from. Quentin was super helpful in guiding us to plants that would work based for partial sun. We went home with a red maple, rhododendrons, mountain laurels, and much more. They have lists of what color the flowers will be and how big the plant will get.

Mr. King is a naturalist at heart who loves his work and enjoys connecting people with plants. His property is like an arboretum and a pleasure to visit. His trees and other plants are in beautiful condition, and include a wide array of specimens. His staff are similarly personable and helpful. Highly recommend this gem of a nursery.
