I was shopping for a new keyboard and decided to check out the selection here. Was super impressed with the customer service. The employee, Sean, who helped me was amazing! He went through all the details and was really helpful in deciding which keyboard was best for me. Very knowledgable of the products and gave great suggestions!

Helpful employees and good area to test instruments, only small issue is they don’t have as huge of a selection as some of the other guitar centers like the one in Boston. Would rather them have like a Fender Jag-stang cause I want to try one of those instead of 50 epiphone les Paul’s

Went to Braintree store this morning around 11:30. 3 people working, not a be soul in the store. I walked in, 3 workers saw me, nothing was said by them, or myself, but I’m shopping I do not work there. Looked and played some acoustic guitars looked at drums. Back at guitar ( electric). Not a word was asked about if I needed help. I was leaving the store, turned around and said! If you people cared about your job, you would have made a sale. They gave me a stupid look and like I expected and said nothing. If you want a job, do it. Don’t just go there to get paid and say nothing. Guitar Center is hurting because they don’t care who they hire. Not my fault. Forgot to add I was looking for a fender ultra telecaster, they still have it by the way.

Once again. Lots of used cymbals locked away and can't find someone to talk with about testing and potentially buying.

Bought an agile scepter elite 9 string guitar that was used from the Braintree MA store, listed at $499 in excellent condition.
The guitar arrived packaged perfectly and with no defects to the box or anything, however upon retrieval from the package there was obvious damage to the lower left front facing portion of the body that was chipped down to the wood almost the size of a quarter.
Contacting my rep directly only did so much because without seeing the guitar or wanting to acknowledge the damage really in any capacity except for a full refund return,my only recourse through them was to be appeased for some strings I bought and the cost of shipping.
Upon going to my local guitar center Knoxville TN a manager or key holder there only offered up $60 for the damage which was ridiculous but better than nothing. The guitar also did not work period point blank at all also and I had to eventually take it to a local guitar technician after visiting my local guitar center.
I will be highly suspect about buying anything else used from guitar center ever again. I have spent money here for years and customer service just gets worse and worse

Customer service sucks. Not one guitar was pick up and playable. Every guitar was a scratch and dent and most instruments outside of guitars didn’t have all the strings. Bathrooms were disgusting and it should loose the name guitar center. Just sad.

Dirty Store, with overpriced guitars. Played 5 guitars, all where WAY OUT OF TUNE (hard to keep in tune I know, but all floor reached, and WAY out of tune), and 2 of the 5 where clearly broke beyond repair (visible neck and body cracks, probably because the humidity in the store is way too dry). Sales are nice, enough but seem uncaring.

I would strongly advise against purchasing an acoustic guitar from this particular store. There is currently no humidity control to be seen in the room housing their higher end guitars. A handful of those guitars are marked down as “scratch and dent”—do not be fooled. All of those “scratch and dent” guitars have cracks down the lower bouts indicative of climate issues in the room (ie. dehumidification and temperature changes) with several more guitars where the center seam on the top of the guitar is becoming visible (ie. they were/are also about to burst at the seam). There are other guitars in the room where the tops have visibly raised ridges along the grain of the wood. That too is not normal; that too is indicative of climate issues in the room.Given that Guitar Center is a large dealer of these instruments (Martin, Gibson, Taylor, etc.), one would think they would work with them to rectify the “issue”, but the fact that they are not doing so is indicative of the fact that the store caused the problem as opposed to something which occurred in shipping or even back at the factory. Can the guitars be repaired? Sure, an experienced luthier can fix most anything, but the cracks in most of these instruments are very sizable and thus will likely require intense humidification to reduce the size of the gap before the crack itself is cleated, glued, and filled. That is costly (as in the price of the discounted guitar plus the cost of the repair is equal to or greater than the MSRP of that model brand new…not to mention you now have to worry about a preexisting crack coming back for as long as you own the guitar), time consuming , and again, if this were something Martin, Gibson, or Taylor would cover under warranty, why wouldn’t Guitar Center simply take care of it that way? I know Guitar Center has been going through some tough times, but my gosh, do the right thing for your customers.

Great place to buy guitars, keyboards, drums, and many other instruments. The sales team there is great, and lets you browse and test instruments as you please. One of the few stores I still prefer to shop in person.

On December 29, I visited Guitar Center with the intention of selling my Vox AC30S1 and purchasing a new amplifier. While I had scheduled an appointment twice, neither was confirmed despite choosing the "contact me via email" and "notify me via SMS" options. Despite this, I decided to proceed without an appointment.During the evaluation process, the employee assigned to my case exhibited unprofessional behavior and used disrespectful language. Despite providing accurate information about the amp's model and condition, he repeatedly contradicted me and made unfounded claims about its value. His emotional response and aggressive negotiation tactics created a hostile and uncomfortable environment. While I understand that used equipment pricing can be subject to negotiation, the employee's conduct was unacceptable. Guitar Center should provide proper training to ensure all customers receive respectful and professional service regardless of their background or expertise.

Must admit it was overwhelming when we walked in, but staff was patient and helpful. My daughter is interested in learning to play with electric guitar, and it was nice to get basic info on starter models.
