Horrible service! With 20 minutes until closing the lady at the window just refused to send a priority letter to Canada "it is too much work, we are closing soon and there are other customers behind you." She was rude to an Indian woman, and an Asian couple in front of me. But after rudely refusing my foreign wife, the clerk was sweet to the white woman behind her. Seems like racism and laziness. Wife was in line 30+ minutes too!

Dropping review from 5 to 3 stars because I think they must have new people working here and they are not nearly as nice. The forced me to make several changes to the package before they could send it, even though I've shipped dozens of packages before without issue. Treated everyone like they had no idea what they were doing. Perhaps they were just having an off day.

Just finished driving and found parking for this convenient location.Customer in front of me was serviced nicely, next customer was serviced and the Clerk asked do you have any thing liquid or perishable?” Customer said no but chose yes, interchange was unnecessary and Clerk yelled back “If you keep being rude, you’re gonna get thrown out” He also is very strict about standing on the and behind the green line on the floor.. I had a simple package to mail but I don’t patronize and reward bad service or behavior; I can choose better service and experience any day.Date of experience 2:00-2:30 on 1/19/2024Clerk name unknown; middle aged male on the Counter; the only Clerk at the Counter. USPS get him some coworkers please.

Counter service is so slow. Nice guys, but you should be ready to do your full yoga routine while you're in line here.

Another frequent patron of the Brookline Village Post Office came across the previous comment and mentioned it in passing. I was appalled when I finally read it myself because I was off to the side addressing some priority mail when all this happened. Let me first make clear something that neither this individual nor the other person present seem to have been aware of: there is ample and clear signage in multiple locations directing patrons where and where not to stand. This gentleman and the “difficult” person he mentions (who, by the way, apologized to the clerk for her behavior while up at the window, one of several pertinent facts which seem to have eluded the commenter) were standing where it was clearly marked with red x’s and text saying “Do Not Stand Here”. Furthermore, they had completely ignored the large sign, prominently displayed and visible as soon as you come in the door , clearly directing people where the line begins. I’m sorry for this gentleman’s color blindness, but I’d bet he has no trouble reading. His assertion about labels and being constrained to pay more because of a lack of them is patently false, as anyone who frequents a post office knows. Priority Express is the only mailing requiring a specific label and there are always piles of those available in the slots on the side or from any clerk. Otherwise, you address your mail yourself, then choose how you want to send it. He further maintains that the clerk saw he needed tape and did nothing about it. Did he ask for tape like any normal adult would do instead of relying on someone to see something which might not be evident at all? Seems not. That’s on him, not the clerk. Had he asked, he would have been offered the use of tape left behind by another customer or sold a roll if none of that were available, as I have seen happen countless times. Further undermining this observation is the statement he was sent to the back of the line causing him to have to endure a long wait. First of all, there was no line to speak of and he wasn’t even in the post office when I finally finished at the side and joined it. I was taken in about 5 minutes. Secondly, anyone who comes to the window and is lacking something is told to rectify the situation on the side then come straight back once they’re ready. They are specifically told NOT to get back in line. I won’t even dignify the falsehoods about growling and hissing with a response. As someone who is at the Village at least once a week, I am grateful for the current crew’s unfailing courtesy, good humor, and efficiency and so are all the others I know who depend on this office. One of the clerks there had been staffing the place alone for 3 months, doing everything from the PO boxes to serving customers to sweeping. They were there from opening until closing, six days a week and, to my knowledge, never missed a day while impressing me not only with their diligence but their patience and efficiency. So, I have no idea what prompted such a wildly skewed and falsifying outburst, but it definitely does not reflect what happened or the reality of how this PO works. The same goes for Jean C’s comment which I happened to read while here - completely false and racist to boot since she is referring to a person of color who speaks perfect English albeit with a Haitian accent. In fact, I am struck by how many of these recent comments leave me with the feeling that they are prompted by some personal grievance and score settling rather than an accurate appraisal. Get a life people.

The man who was working there was incredibly rude and terse. Was of zero help in telling me which label to use — and subsequently I was cornered into paying for the most expensive option, as it was the only label available/in stock. He saw that I needed tape but didn’t mention it so I had to get to the back of the line and wait another 30 minutes to ask for tape. And on top of that, he was absolutely hell bent on people queuing behind the green tape and told a woman to “stop being difficult” when she asked an earnest question. For one, I am totally colorblind so I can’t see the green tape, but he rose his voice and hissed at everyone. Very unpleasant and unprofessional. Horrible place.

The girl that works here is unbelievably rude, the place is never open & she takes 2 hour lunch breaks. The girl pretends to not speak English, my PO BOX WAS closed & she wasn’t able to assist me

Took 20 minutes to drop off a prepaid package with only one person in line in front of me, as the singular employee moves like molasses and took the time to individually scold multiple people in line on the way they were standing. Bizarre.

It takes 2 qualifications to work for the US post office, a strong back and a weak mind.

This postal office is not the same as before. They have complete new staff and most of them are not professional. They don’t look happy to work there, even when they ask you how can I help you, you feel you add such a burden to their work. Not a friendly place any more.

Everytime when internet is down they only accept cash, which apparently happens quite often here. Shame.

I miss Eddie—during my first few years of living in the Village, I frequented our local USPS. Convenient, seldom had to wait, always helped by the friendliest man in the city: Eddie. He helped everyone as if we were family. I even saw him step away from his work window and rush to the Post Office door to help a disabled person enter. What a guy! Ever since he retired, we have had one disinterested person after another. It’s as if these folks are petulant interns, made to do scut work for hours every day. Life is what we make it, folks!

Completely fake. No international shipping, cash only... Is it a post office or a ghost?
