Went to Ann’s Fabrics today to drop off 3 sewing machines. I brought 2 quilt tops that I needed borders for, I think Ann’s Fabrics have the best selection of fabrics anywhere. With the help of Cheryl, their fabric buyer, I found beautiful fabrics for the borders, plus I bought other great fabric for my stash. They have the most beautiful quilts hanging in the shop! I always bring my machines here for cleaning and repair and have the opportunity to buy fabric I don’t see anywhere else.

They fixed my very old Kenmore sewing machine. I tried it immediately when I got home and it worked better than it had in years. I’m very happy I found them!

Thanks to Andy + Richard for a wonderful experience trying + buying a Bernina sewing machine. Richard showed me all the available options that I was looking for on several models. There was No pressure to buy more of a machine that I needed. The store sells several models of sewing machines, I would highly recommend you use this store for any machine purchase.

I just visited Ann's with a long shopping list in my hand. Four or five employees and the owner were in the store and no one offered to help me. One was obviously on a long personal phone call. I found a couple of things on my own. The woman at the cash register seemed annoyed that I wanted to check out. And this is why I recently ordered a new high end sewing machine online instead of buying one from Ann's.

I just had the most delightful experience. I went to Ann's to order a specific long arm quilter. Everyone in the shop was helpful and beyond pleasant. I'd never been there before but it felt like visiting old friends. The shop is well stocked with a wider variety of machines than I have seen anywhere else. In spite of all the machines, the shop didn't feel cramped and was tidy and orderly making it easy to see and access everything. They offered a really nice selection of fabrics and threads from what I could see though I didn't have the time to really explore. I can't recommend them enough.

Gave a three star for the two dudes who work there. One works on machines and the other was very very knowledgable about their inventory and their uses. I LOVE the M7 Janome and am in a position to purchase it - cash! I'm headed to a different store BECAUSE of that WOMAN who is SO rude / unfriendly / and makes ZERO effort to be civil. On my behalf, I used my manners , please and thank you's.....even this didn't make a dent in her demeanor. As a compliment I purchased some of the lovely fabrics with a nice 'hand', (they do have a few exceptional brands of fabric) and a pattern for a tote bag. I got ZERO politeness and not even a 'thank you for your business' upon leaving. NEVER in my life or my 4 decades of quilting have I been treated so bad as this woman treated me. She could chase out demons with her cold cold demeanor. It does sadden me to write this (it does) because I was in Business Development for two decades (retired from that arm of business) and people who arrive at your business door aren't looking for a 'punch in the senses' with cold demeanor. People who come to ones place of business come with a suitcase of questions, curiosity and depending on how one is treated will either land a sale or not. Rudeness will most likely end up as a review on yelp due to the 'basic indignation' of the treatment received. Basic, logical and SO Uncalled for. Its a fabric / sewing machine shop and in these economic times (businesses striving to stay alive) it makes even more sense NOW than ever to sharpen those customer service skills and even apologize openly on yelp and address your customer base. We budget / spend conservatively and how we are treated is key. (Cant believe I have to say this aloud-s/b common sense). As an owner (I don't know 'who's who' in Ann's Fabrics) you need to address these reviews professionally and not ignore them. Your business depends on your reviews because it could end up that you make your competition profitable. Ignore these reviews and you are ignoring your business problems. Your take aways from this review s/b the following: 1). Whomever greets the customer base IS the impression your customer takes away as genuine. 2) Is that greeter a Prison Guard? or a welcoming friendly face? doesn't matter if they are an owner or a hire person. 3) Does the customer have a sense of being helped with their questions? or treated as an idiot and made to feel un-welcomed ? Because I was treated with a very cold employee / owner, I will be going to your competition to purchase the M7 Janome. Its 7K + cash to your competitor. I like being treated, at the very least- CIVIL- but that cold chill from that woman is 100% unacceptable and regrettably you lost a 7k sale. (and probably 100 in fabric sales as well.). Hope you fix your Customer Relations issues and I will try again later to buy that nice fabric and if met with the same cold response....ill post that as well as a follow up. Best Update : I received a message from one of the men that greeted me. He did apologize and hoped I would reconsider frequenting his store (I'm referring to the store as 'his store' . He's doing the legwork for the business ). I will come back to the store and let him know in advance the day I'm coming. He is a super nice guy. Thank you
