This was a great experience for both Sailor and I. We were nervous about changing vets but I am so, so glad we did. Your clinic and personnel are amazing.

I recently met Dr. Rob. He was professionalfriendly and our puppy responded so well to his gentle approach with her. He took his time to explain details concerning our visit. We are looking forward to having wonderful care for our new pet.

This was the best vet visit I have had over the years. Everyone was very professional and friendly. The office procedures were very respectful for owner and pet. Would highly recommend.

The whole staff has been wonderful to deal with, very kind to me and my cats. We switched because I wasn’t satisfied with the care of my last vet (I felt health issues were missed that a vet should have seen). Dr. Nicholson was very knowledgeable and provided another diagnostic path for a chronic issue with my older girl that was not previously suggested. His calm, one step at a time, what’s best for the animal approach was refreshing. I felt he spent enough time with each cat to properly examine them. I also appreciated the timely follow up with their labs. I look forward to working with the team at Post Road to help my girls live their best life.

Normally I don't write negative reviews, but I feel that I must in this case as an effort to provide some constructive feedback.I reached out to Post Road Vet several times to become a new patient with my very friendly dog. For about 6 months, I was told that they were still on COVID curbside protocol. Keep in mind that I was calling in late 2022 up to mid 2023...COVID had long been forgotten about by this point. Either way, I decided to wait because I did not want to bring my dog to a new vet unaccompanied. Finally, in June I was told they allow 1 person in. Again, not sure it was truly necessary to limit attendance....but I can empathize with their caution. They told me to have my old vet email records to them, and they would call me back to schedule a first appointment; that call never came. I called two days later and they said they could not find the email, so spent about 30 minutes going back and forth with my old vet and new vet (on hold many times) to be told that they "found it" in their inbox. Again, I could empathize; eMails get missed. Then I was told that the Vet did review my file (so email was not missed?) and that I would need to give my dog oral sedation before the first visit. In addition, I would need to sign a waiver for the medication (because it was being prescribed to an unseen patient) and pay up to $100 for it. This caught me off guard so I started asking questions.Apparently, my dog had a "go slow" note in his file and they were concerned for their safety. I asked my old vet for more details, and they told me that he had never been aggressive or bit anyone, they simply put the note in his file because he can be a bit shy. After explaining this to Post Road Vet, they still required the sedation and rejected my offer to use a muzzle. I was told "we'll see how he does with his first visit" and decide if he always needs sedation for subsequent visits. To me, this made no sense. If the dog was sedated on his first visit, then how would they ever truly know how he was?I called two different vets after this interaction, and I was told that to require sedation on a dog that has never been seen or has never had a note about aggression is very unusual. So in summary, my suggestions are:1. Try to understand that bringing a pet to a new vet can be stressful for the pet, and their owner should be present.2. Make sure set procedures to ensure you are calling patients back when you promise.3. I don't believe it is a typical or particularly heartwarming policy to require sedatives without speaking to the owner or previous vet to determine if there is truly a risk.

I've owned multiple dogs over the last 25 years and this was the 1st time a Vet refused to service my dog because I was not a "regular" customer. Its all about $$$$$ to these folks. They were going to see the dog for a surgery consultation but when they saw the vaccine records where from another vet, they decided to not see my dog.

Post Road Vet was recommended to us after we moved to Charlton, and I'm very happy to have taken that recommendation. From the staff to the vet everyone was friendly and professional. I look forward to bringing the rest of my pups in and having a local vet for my pets.

I never write a 1 star post. But I scheduled out about a month. Door was locked and was never told to call upon arriving. Called twice but no pick up. Late by 10 minutes because of this and they denied to see my dog after an hour drive to this location. Was told I had to reschedule my appointment and never got my $80 + back for the appointment. I asked if I can wait until closing to hopefully get my dog in, just incase of a cancelation or a gap time. My previous veterinarian or even doctors would make the time to squeeze patients in if they really care for their profession. But seems like they are more money motivated. Very disappointed with the establishment they run. I would not recommend to a family or friend.

I brought my Guinea pig in for issues he was having with his teeth. They were very accommodating and I was able to have the doctor assess the severity of the condition prior to the appointment via text message. The appointment went smoothly and the doctor fixed his teeth (and trimmed his nails, which was greatly appreciated!), explained what the issue was, and explained my options to prevent the issue going forward. Everyone I spoke with was very kind and I didn’t feel rushed at any point, even though they were very busy at the time. This vet is lovely and my Guinea pig and I will be returning.

Be careful with this place. They gave my dog a rabies vaccine even though she was not due for another one until 6/10/24. And I sent them the rabies vaccine Certificate by email two days before my appointment. The Tech said that is how the do it in Texas not here in Mass. She lied and was very disrespectful toward me. Good thing it was not some other medicine that may have killed my dog. Never going back there again. The receptionist is nice but ... be careful if you use this place.
